I'm going to wait until someone complains about hardware problems.

I've made way too mistakes buying stuff on day one then finding problems later in the course of time. I'll most likely get it when all the games I want are out. It doesn't need a slim version or a model with extra features, it has a lot already to start with.

That is inevitable. We are talking about mass produced electronic devices, always some of them may come with problems even with revisions. It's all about luck.

I will get it day one, like almost every console i own. Waiting years is somewhat stupid unless you can't afford one, and has advantages and disadvantages. Is better to live the present not the future, you never know what might happen plus you get to use it more and play more games all while seeing how the system get updated through firmware updates.

[QUOTE="blabbyboy"][QUOTE="soulreaper-4"] Now way! So i won't be able to use the hard drive to backup my PS3?GTR12

There are hard drives that are compatible, most are. But if it isn't formatting properly then it must be the hard drive.

Wrong, all HDD's are capable of any filesystem.

@TC, it takes 2 steps, and its really simple.

Start menu, type "cmd" (without the quotes) --> type "format /FS:FAT32 (drive letter):" (without quotes again).

Eg; format /FS:FAT32 Z:

Easy as that, now wait for ages.

I want to do this with an external hard drive not my laptop's drive. Can I?

format it in Fat32.. download a freeware format software if you have to.. but Windows should let you format in Fat32.PoisoN_Facecam0
Window 7 is not giving me the option of fat32. Do you know of any freeware to format the drive?

I'm trying to make an external hard drive compatible with the ps3. I tried formating it to fat32 with window 7, but I only get the option of exfat. Anyone knows how to make it compatible with the ps3 and pc?

To tell the truth, I have used my 3DS much more than what i used my DSLite. I take it with me, have found many people with street pass . The down side is that is doesn't received lots of quality games that aren't remakes.

Unless you're a collector and want the OG ps3 avoid it they're more prone to breaking down, I bought my OG from a buddy about two years ago and she's still running like an old F-150 STRONG.Fightingfan
It is said they are more prone because the CPU and GPU run a lot hotter than the newer. Anyway it is just about luck and the way the owner have been using it, like having pace for ventilation and so on. Anyway i would go with a brand-new one. I recently got a 320gb models and it runs great. You can't hear any louder high pitch noise like some of the 120gb systems.
