Ok so i bought a Slim this month and it was doing this kind of loud pitch noise that came from the inside of the system and i returned it back to the store but not cause of this, i returned it by other problem. Now the new Slim i have still do this somewhat annoying higher pitch compare to the older models. Everything is in working order and the unit is not overheating but i really would like to know if this is normal since i keep reading everywhere that the Slim is quiter than older models. Oh and i forgot to mentioned that both Slim's, the one i returned and the one i have now are from a different batch, the first one was manufacture in June wile the new one in August.

What do you think? Please don't tell me it is supposed to be noiseless cause that's not true.

I just bought my slim yesterday and it sits perfectly flat, but when sony releases the stand for the slim to retail stores, im gonna buy that and stand it up because they run cooler standing up.

I bought a Slim and it didn't sit completely flat, after bringing it to the store for a new one it still the same. When i press it at the back left side it moves down. I think it have something to do with the rubber pads. What about yours.

Slim owners shold inform everyone here in case this is a problem with the rubber pads so that Sony can take notice and change them.

Mine only sits on 3 rubber pads and I can kind of rock it alitte bit. Sometimes when the disk is spinning (or maybe it's the HDD) it makes a vibrating noise, but when I lift it up the noise disappers.

After doing some research i've came to a conclusion, it may be the furniture and the way the bottom of the PS3 is made may requires a more perfectly flat surface compare to the first one plus older models weighted more. After thinking about it, i think there's nothing wrong with my system, how can there be a problem if the my first Slim was manufacture on June and the new one i have was manufacture on August, two months later. If it had a problem cause by the way they manufacture some of the systems then almost everybody's PS3 will be like mines. I think i should stop worrying about it and continued having fun with it.

you sure its not your table thats crooked not the ps3s lol?fifamessi
That's the problem, i'm sure. My first one sits almost perfectly on a flat surface and this goes down more than the first if you press it at the back left side. I was checking it at the bottom and it seems ok, nothing out of the ordinary and i noticed that the manufacture date of this one is August wile the first was manufacture in June.
