The spike go through her neck, not her head.

padaporra

Yeah, it still looks like it goes through her head to me. Must be the angle. Anyhow, even if it is just her neck, it's still just as ridiculous.

You'd think someone claiming to have played the classic TR games would have remembered the death traps

AdobeArtist

No. They're not anywhere near as gruesome as this.

Getting impaled can do that to a person.

Apparently, according to you, you can go downstream at a very fast and powerful speed and be impaled through your head and brain and still be conscious and moving your arms and trying to remove the humongous spike that is impaled through your head?

No, no, getting impaled like that through the brain cannot do that to a person.

It's not in her brain, though.

Why are you so serious over this ? It's just a game, not everything will be super realistic.

It looks like it is going all the way through her head, meaning, her brain. Still super unrealistic if it is merely going through her neck.

Look, either this game is going for realism or not. You can't have both.

[QUOTE="burgeg"]I thought you were a big Tomb Raider fan? If you were you would love this as it's a return to what the original games did. Go back and play Tomb Raider 1 and jump into some spikes. See what happens.

MBirdy88

This is supposedly Tomb Raider, not Mortal Kombat. However, here is shows a fatality. I mean, this is so much more than just being impaled on spikes, Indiana Jones style. This is her being skewered like shish kabobs through her brain and she is flailing about all bloody. Hmm, I still think Tomb Raider is better than to sell out to stylized gore but then I guess it is trying to be more like Gears of War.

Or its a survival-action game. how can people spin this as a bad thing just because its more graphic than previous crap that just makes her or nathan rag dolls in a spike pit... What woudl you have done with this scene? just blank straight out? makes no sense. people will nit pick anything =/ Nothing like gears of war.

But I thought that this game was going for realism, no? I thought this game was trying to be like a movie instead of a game?

Oh wow, I just found this and had no idea that the new Tomboy Raider was so graphic. It kind of disgusts me, how disturbing and gross this scene is. So sad that they need to amp up the ultra violence and gore in order to appeal to little kids. So, let me get this straight...a tree branch is piercing all the way through her skull and she is still grasping at it? lol, whut? How ludicrous.

Anyhow, all this talk has me wanting to play a real Tomb Raider game so I think I am going to play TR Anniversary on my PSP. Never played the PSP version, and I do not remember if I have played Legends. I think I will play both on my PSP though since I don't have the PS3 triple pack.

Oh and I have Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Have not finished it yet. It's not the same though, as normal Tomb Raider.

Not really new to the series, TR 3 is covered in spikes that implae lara in nasty ways, with convincing sounds and animations, as well as limbs flying from explosions and high powered lasers

It seems to me though that Tomboy Raider is trying to be graphic for the sake of being graphic. It is trying too hard.

Yes, I am sure the other Tomb Raiders had spikes penetrating all the way through her head and she is trying to get it out of her head for several seconds. So, in that gif I posted, is she really trying to get a huge spike out of her head and brain? I mean, she would not be instantly dead? I do not get it.
