People keep saying how disgusting these people are for capitalizing on his death but its simple supply and demand. So if the people selling are sick, the people buying are just as bad. I manage a CD/DVD store and the day after his death, we sold out of all his stuff, and Jackson 5 stuff and keep getting special shipment in and selling it right away.

Raised a NY Jets fan and have stayed a fan through all the "good" years of Boomer, Vinny, and Pansy Chad lol.... Maybe, just maybe Sanchez can become a Franchise QB. I think the jets can fair well this year, def a contender for division in my opinion. Just hoping for a good year
Personally, I feel its a risk but a risk only he has the right to make. He is going to be great in my opinion. He is 16, throws 96 and isnt even a pitcher! He does pitch from time to time from what I read but he is a catcher. If he gets the right training, he could be a great pitcher and if not, a great catcher is just as hard to come by. He can crush the ball with some of the best (in SI it talked about how he hit the end of a stadium, cant remember the stadium though). I figure if he can get a couple good years out of hte leage, he made the right choice.
Bears just signed Tinoisamoa, giving us one of the best linebacking groups in the league if Urlacher can stay healthy and produce. Urlacher, Briggs, Tinoisamoa, now that's a killer group.

I can agree with that. I just hope that my Jets will do better on D with all the people they picked up this offseason. Solid D, and hopefully Sanchez will pull through a good starting year, may become a good year, just glad to see Farve gone
what bad stoppage? the fight with the tall guy from Brasil that was dancing during his entrance? sorry dont know name off top of head
Evans is good but I just hate how cocky is his. I am glad he got knocked out to be honest. He has had such a big head since he won the title from Forrest which yes he beat him, but I dont feel he dominated Forrest like he got dominated by Machida
[QUOTE="Moroes"]I am liking the Chicago Bears. They have a great defense, a better than average offensive line, an elusive young runningback, and now a franchise quarterback. If they can improve their WR depth then they can go deep in the playoffs.theone86
As a Chicago fan, I'm more concerned about the secondary and the D-line than thereceivers. Hester's going to be a deep threat, and from what I've heard Bennet is doing very well working with his former QB. I think the line's going to hold up well with all the upgrades, I think Olsen and Clark are still going to be potent threats, and I think Forte is still going to be a passing threat as well as a running threat. I think the passing game is going to work out a lot better than most people think, especially with the level of versatility that the combination of Olsen, Forte, Hester, and Cutler give the team. The passing game was pretty one-dimensional under previous QBs, I think Cutler adds something intangible in that defenses now have to respect the whole field in addition to the run and the screen.
The secondary scares me, though. Tillman is the only player who's really proven himself. Pur safety situation is basically Craig Steltz, Kevin Payne, Josh Bullocks and Corey Graham, and none of them are superstars. Besides, we're doing a ton of switching in our secondary between the free safety, strong safety, and cornerback positions and I'm not sure our starting safeties are going to be completely ready by the start of the season. Daniel Manning should be our nickel back, which I'm fine with, but Nate Vasher or Trumaine McBride starting alongside Tillman I'm not so comfortable with. We're going to need to see some of these players step up or we could have another dismal year in pass defense.
The D-line is more star-studded, but they haven't been playing to potential in the past couple of years. Tommie Harris, Wale Ogunleye, Mark Anderson, Alex Brown, and marcus Harrison all have to step up and have big years. We need more sacks, more pressure on the quarterback, and more overall production out of our defense.
As for who's a Superbowl contender, at this point it's easier to list teams that aren't contenders. I think every team except for the Chiefs, Jets, Raiders, Browns, Bengals, Jaguars, Rams, 49ers, Lions, and Bucs has a decent shot to make the big game. Look at the last seven Superbowls and see who's made it: Cardinals, Giants, Bears, Seahawks, Eagles, Panthers, and Bucs. Although those teams might have been on the cusp, I don't think most analysts expected them to be playing the Superbowl when the season started. In my opinion, the teams I listed are the only ones who don't stand a chance, mostly because they're fragmented and/or in the proccess of rebuilding.
Reason you feel the Jets can't make it? they nearly made it with Farve who was so inconsistent, it KILLED their momentun. Granted, they are in same division as Pats and Brady is back but guess what, we have NO clue how well brady is going to play. He had a tough injury that may affect his gameplay. I just dont see the Jets not at least being a contender. I really feel that Sanchez could become a Brady, a qb that was not expected to do much and look what Brady has done, Roethesburger (sp) as well. I am def not saying the Jets are going to tear up the AFC east on route to the playoffs but feel they have a strong chance with all the Defensive pick ups they made this offseason.
I do still think the jets have the chance. I honestly feel the dolphins were a fluke team last year. They are not bad but def not contenders, and the bills, they have the potential but just like every year they never pull throw. The pats are def contenders as always but I feel that the Jets, with the possible stregnth of their defense, they have a chance of stopping strong offensive teams. They just need to make sure to fine tune their offense. Never said a def playoff contender but think they have a chance to get in.
Well I have seen about 3 posts of people asking if their team is going to be a contender for playoffs or superbowl because of the their possible pick ups and newly signed players. So I figured Id join this bandwagon and make it an open forum. Whos your team? Ask and see if you think they are contenders! I am a Jets fan. With all of the defensive signings so far, along with Rex Ryan taking over, and now Sanchez, I feel they are playoff contenders. Superbowl may be pushing it but def possible for playoffs. I think Sanchez would be the smart start as he is picking up quickly and feel he will be better than Klemens. What do you think?
