[QUOTE="speedracer216"]New Super Mario Bros should take under 15hrs. instant classic.-Murdock-

I wouldn't say an instant classic, but easy overrated unoriginal rehash.

The Phoenix Wright series is pretty hard to beat and will probably put you around the 15 hour mark. Look into the Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow or Portrait of Ruin will keep you busy for at least 10 hours if you're thorough. Btw, recommendation questions belong in the appropriate thread.

lol. i can see where "unoriginal" to you could be "classic" to me. i loved that game for how much it was like the original with a few new gameplay twists (love the wall jumps and things from 64 being in there) all opinion i guess, but i liked it.

agreed on phoenix wright. sweet game.

i agree with these guys. they are BOTH well worth the money. NSMB is a must-play game imho.

but mario kart has the wifi multiplayer that gives it TONS of replay ability so if you can only afford on i'd start with MKDS, but get NSMB at some point in your life.

I dunno...

Yes, it looks amazing, but I'm getting really tired of the same turn based battle system used in every DQ game.  What happened?  I thought they were moving to real time ala FFXII for this title.  Was the public outcry in Japan really eneough to make them switch to turn based again?

WizardsKeep

thank goodness if it was. yes live battles are fun sometimes (really just in zelda) but that's a completely different kind of game. for some (by which i mean millions) of us turn-based is more fun and really is how DQ should be

with these amazing visuals, customizable characters, wifi multiplayer, see the enemies in the field, and turn-based battle.... this could be the best Dragon Quest EVER (except for III of course :) )

with the addition of visible enemies this could now be the best Dragon Quest ever (except III will always be the best)

Lufia II had it like this and that is the game that made me fall in love with RPG's.

also, we're used to making characters from the likes of DQII and DQIII, but not at this level or with these beautiful visuals and different faces and everything.
and don't even get me started on how sweet the multiplayer will be....

THIS IS WHY I BOUGHT DS!!!!

how come "i'm not getting either since they're exactly the same as every other poke-game" isn't an option in the poll?

no, you get a special award known as having too much timemonty_4256

yup. it shows 3 stars over you in battle (or 1 or 2 if that's all you've done). none of it is worth the effort cuz no one who sees it online will care at all

i finally broke down and got one recently because of Dragon Quest IX coming for it, but in the meantime i've been playing New Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart and Castlevania and Brain Age and i'm definately glad i go it! There are a ton of games not worth your time, but there are some amazing games that you just have to play too.
