I'd have given it about a 7.0,
it wasn't exactly revolutionary, way too similar to previous titles,
graphics are awesome, and sound is great,
but the game itself, has a whole "been there, done that" feel about it...
I regret the purchase myself, would have been a good/smart rental for me.

Andrew_Xavier

I agree with Andrew_Xavier. Based on the demo, I'm not even going to bother picking it up. To me, it just seems like they updated the graphics and shipped it out the door. I think the transition from PS2 to PS3 should have been much more revolutionary.

I started out pretty terribly since COD4 was my first online FPS but I've been getting better. I was getting slaughtered in the beginning, but I'm getting closer and closer to a 1.0 k/d ratio. Now that I've gotten all of my weapons and perks back from going through Prestige Mode (Level 55 on Prestige 1), I'll be able to focus on the weapons I really like rather than getting obliterated with the guns that I don't do so well with.

Having owned both games, my opinion would be to get COD4. Like others have said, the single-player campaign is short but it has a great story. The multi-player is where you'll spend most of your time. I like the idea that you unlock new weapons and new add-ons the more you play. This was my first FPS that I played online and it's not terribly hard to get into. Yeah, I sucked for a little while, but I'm decent now. Plus it's been confirmed that there will be additional maps coming out this spring to help keep the game fresh.

As for Uncharted, it's a fun game with great graphics and a cool story, but I beat it once and didn't really see the point in going back to it. That's just my opinion, as others like to keep playing through it until they've completed all of the achievements and found all of the treasures.

I'd love to see all 3 ideas come into play.

Up through the first 3 assassinations, it was okay, but once you realized you were doing the same things over and over, it was all downhill. The braindead AI and the fact that the investigations really didn't give you any useful information just added to my disappointment. Great idea but bad execution and the sci-fi twist was lame in my opinion. Unless some radical changes are made to this series, I won't spend my money on any of the sequels.

I'd personally go with Call of Duty 4. You'll get a lot more replay value out of it than you would out of Devil May Cry 4. The single player campaign in COD4 is short but it's action packed and has a great story. The multi-player portion of the game is amazing (I've spent over 72 hours on it). I downloaded the DMC4 demo and it just seemed like DMC3 but with better graphics.

I've bought Everyday Shooter, Mortal Kombat II, Castlevania, Crash Bandicoot, and Warhawk. Can't find the fun in Warhawk but that's just me. To each their own.

My vote's for Call of Duty 4 as well. I liked Uncharted and did end up beating it, but I didn't bother trying to collect all of the treasures or do all of the challenges since it's not really my thing. I have over 3 days worth of time spent on Call of Duty's multi-player and it's the only game I really play right now. I like doing the challenges in this game because you actually earn things like upgrades for your weapons and different perks. You won't be disappointed with either game, but you'll spend more time on Call of Duty.

In my opinion, it's not worth it. It's a great idea but the execution falls flat. As others have said, you're doing the same thing over and over again and the enemy AI is brain dead. I beat it in 3 days (just to see the ending, not because it was fun), sold it, and never looked back. Definitely rent it first.

I went into first Prestige last week and I'm back up to level 43 or so right now. I just did the first one so that I could say I did, but I don't plan on doing a second one. Yeah, I know it's bragging rights, but I'll work on completing all of the challenges instead.
