Soon there will be no point in owning a console. All the games we be shared . right now console companys are being forced more and more to reline on first party games. Consoles are getting so expensive 599 us dollars anyone?

Only way to get costs down would be to go pc . Its the only way gaming will make it .

dontshackzmii
So we would have to pay over $1000 for a machine that can play the same games a $300 machine can? Nty Also, you've forgotten about mobile and handheld games. That market has nowhere to go but up.

The gaming fad would have died back in the 80s, like all fads do, and there would probably be something different now.Pokemon would have never happened. Kids would still play D&D.People would probably do a lot more drugs and go see a lot more movies, not to mention read a lot more books :P

tl:dr-Our culture would be completely different.

If you don't have a 360/ps3/gaming comp AND you've never played modern warfare before, you might want to pick up modern warfare:reflex, as it's very good for a downgraded port.

[QUOTE="stEElyDaN909"] Lol I'm not flaming or even specifically addressing you. I said "some people" instead of "you people" for a reason :D I can have my own opinion. RESPECT! Even if Red and Green were originally addressed to the 13+ demographic, Pokemon has clearly become a kids entertainment franchise. The lack of maturity in the story, the anime, the multiple coloring books and sticker books and easy reader books and everything else in that category, and the fact you play as an actual prepubescent child all hint toward the franchise being directed at kids. You don't see any coloring books with Starcraft or COD themes. Remember, it was our parents who bought us the cards and the games and our favorite episodes on VHS back in the 90s. The only change is that many of us 90s kids grew up, and they're just isn't enough of us still interested in pokemon to change the franchise back from what it was in the 90s. For this reason, many people can't take pokemon seriously. At all. As fun as competitive battling is, many people will only see it as grown adults playing a kids game. They could compare it to a group of people LARPing in power rangers costumes and calling it serious business.Hegna1

I also said you sounded. I realize you aren't flaming, but some people do, and it gets annoying and old fast.

EDIT: Plus I find competitive battlers take the game less seriously than other players at times, as in general they feel less attached to the individual characters, and more just to the style of play. I've seen Casuals who obsess about their own pokemon like it's their little brother. I know it's not common, but I find that really awkward.

Well I'm glad we're on the same page about something :P

Starfox, F-Zero, Kirby and Donkey Kong all have timelines, to a certain extent.

LoZ has a timeline, but it's very complicated.

Metroid has a reasonable timeline, starting from zero-mission and ending with fusion.

What I would really like to see is an actual Metroid sequel, that picks up after fusion. I want to see what happens to Samus now that's she's basically a mutant.

[QUOTE="stEElyDaN909"] That is exactly what I'm trying to say. I have met a few adults, mostly on smogon I might add, that play pokemon and do nothing else. They spend all their time playing pokemon, or drawing pokemon, or talking about pokemon, and their social life consists of the people they know on shoddy battle. I'm not trying to insult anyone who has fun playing it competitively. I have fun making competitive teams, and I fit in perfectly fine with the community. I'm just saying I don't think it's healthy to spend all your time playing a game, especially one that is targeted at children. It's just a game :D If you feel threatened by me making that statement, maybe is it because you have a hard time justifying yourself? I know I don't :PHegna1

To the contrary, I don't feel threatened I felt like you're one of the many flamers who get pissed off at a competitive opinion because they think it's "too serious" when they're asking for team advice (and honestly, you don't need advice for an in-game team). It gets annoying when most of the people on Gamespot try to attack you for half your posts because they see them as "too serious". I've never forced someone to play competitively, but I don't expect people to get angry at me for it, and I definitely believe that a real competitive opinion belongs in when people ask for advice in the game, especially if it's for a team. I don't feel anything wrong about playing the game competitively, it's not different then the competitive starcraft players, or competitive *placeOneofManyFPSHere* players. It's just a different game, that a lot of people can't see as being competitive. I'll stop playing when I get bored of it or when it starts killing my education or some important aspect of my life, but for now, it's really just a hobby, and the game I go back to when I don't have anything else to play.

Flamers aren't threatening, they're just annoying, and I have found people who seem to attack me on a lot of ideas, just because I reference the metagame or a common set.

EDIT: and as I said before the game was originally meant for teenagers (13+), so I honestly think I fit right into the group that was intended when they made the original Red and Green.

*kneels down with palms together*

Please GOD, don't let Sonic Team find a way to screw this up.

MobilechicaneX

The guys who made the 360 version of unleashed are making this so i have no worries about this game being bad since Unleashed(360) was the best sonic game since Sonic 3.

2.5D Werehog stages :'( I'm stoked for this game. Sonic was my childhood, and if this game can capture some of the magic that made the old games so very, very awesome, then I'm sold.
