I agree that GTA is more intimately created than Watch Dogs or Assassin's Creed, but I disagree about the game world feeling more "alive"...namely because they ALL feel "fake" to me. If I follow a citizen around, they won't do anything interesting. They'll walk around, many times turning around and subsequently bumping into my character which will bring about a typical reaction, but they'll never actually DO anything besides...walk around. In Oblivion the characters interacted with each other, but even then it was simply two NPCs facing toward one another, saying two completely random pieces of (usually unrelated) dialogue, and going about their business. They never physically interact with each other, or start a fight, or argue, or anything like that.
I know GTAV tried to remedy this by having random shootouts, or random police chases, but they still feel exactly that: random. There needs to be more substance to them. Watch Dogs had potential with the way Aiden can hear the police scanner whenever the player does something negative, but they never acted on it. Imagine cruising around Chicago and hearing on the scanner that there's a standoff somewhere. The player then goes to the location the scanner says and, voila! There's actually a situation that the player can interact with. It would help flesh out the believability of the world as well as further immerse the player.
Played about 4 hours so far. Luckily the game gives you a bit of a taste of everything immediately. Driving doesn't seem too bad...not as good as GTA5, but just as good as Sleeping Dogs and better than GTA4 (though everything's driving is better than GTA4's). Cover system is great, and reminds me of Human Revolution. Hacking is fun, and "jumping" from one hackable device to another is pretty neat. Gunplay is pretty standard snap-targeting, but solid and the gun sounds are nice. The city is pretty large, and there's lots of stuff going on.
@NikIvRu Everyone said FF14 would be dumbed down for consoles too, and yet you can fit 1.5x as many skills on one console hotbar as you can on a PC bar.
@neowarrior793 @sladakrobot I use my Xbox to play games. I use my PS4 to play games. According to this article, the Xbox uses less energy. You're whining over nothing. NOTHING.
