I am looking to get a new computer soon and I was wondering if I should get a computer with windows 7 or if I should get vista. one of my friends told me to get vista even though it is a "memory hog" because when windows 7 comes out Microsoft will have a lot of bug to work out because it is new. is my friend right? or should i just wait and get windows 7? please help.

Ok, I am looking to get a new computer but I am on a tight budget. right now i have an old gateway, it just wont run any good games because it has a single core processor and an integrated graphics card. I looked into upgrading this computer but it just ended up being more trouble than it was worth. I am looking to spend less than $1000 on a new computer. I don't really know that much about gaming computers so I don't want to build my own. My friend told me to get a computer with 4gb of ram an Intel dual core processor and a NIVIDIA Ge Force 9600 or 9800 GPU. To me this doesn't look like it would be good enough to play games, but like i said i am new to this and dont really know. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
