Been through 2 (that's TWO) faulty Wiis. One had an internal memory glitch and I lost ALL my data; the other would not connect to the internet. The one I have now works fine.

The Gamecube was able to do amazing things graphically. Look at Wind Waker or Resident Evil 4. Or even Viewtiful Joe.

It's all up to the developer to maxmize what the machine can do to get the best looking product out of said machine. Now, the Wii (we can all agree) is 2-3 times more powerful than the Cube. This means we can expect graphics 2-3 times better than RE4.

Now, in my opinion, graphics have gotten to the point where they're almost realistic, and it would be difficult to make major improvements to where the graphics are at this point. Therefore, I could say that gaming is near the peak of graphic quality, and after that, what's next?

Obviously, the Wii is not as powerful as the Xbox 360 and PS3. However, in my belief, it can come CLOSE (look at screenshots for SSBB), and that's good enough for me, because it's not just about hyper-realistic graphics, but about gameplay. And no one can contest that the Wii doesn't deliver there.

[QUOTE="styphin"]There's a way around this. Don't save & quit. Just hit the home button on the remote and select "Wii Menu." Your Wii will make a flash memory save of exactly where you are in the game and you can come back any time, lives intact.specialed

And you have done this on SMW or SM64?

I haven't tried it yet, but from what I can tell, NES, SNES, Genesis and TurboGRFX16 games all have the option of flash memory saves. N64 games, on the other hand, do not. So it WON'T work on SM64. But I have not confirmed this trick for SMW. That is an assumption based on the other SNES games I've played.

Edit: Can anyone confirm?

Yeah that would be cool. They should have moves from Wii Sports, like Up+B would use a baseball bat. Down+B would throw a bowling ball. Over+B would use a Golf Club. A normal B attack would punch using Boxing Gloves and you could chain combos. The grab attack for Z could use a Tennis Racket where your Mii grabs a character, throws him/her into the air and hits a few tennis balls. Stuff like that would be pretty neat.J_Ford
Frickin' awesome idea!

I seem to have a pretty unique fault - the Wii Memory Management system partially freezes when I try to see what files I have saved on the internal hard drive. I can view my gamecube memory cards just fine, but if I go look for my Wii save files, the screen just sits there and the back button is frozen. The Wiimote cursors still work; I just can't hit the back button. Escape is only possible from reset or power down. Also if I try to re-format the internal memory it will sit in an endless loop animation saying "Reformatting Memory." I left that running for an hour and nothing happened. This could only be stopped by a power down. Also, after all this, the games themselves seem to have no problem saving or loading. Weird!!

The woman at Nintendo said she hadn't heard about that one yet, but they're sending me a new Wii. Customer service was very polite and helpful.
