I honestly thought they were under hyping it until they dedicated a channel to it. That was really cool and a huge step forward in how Nintendo will start marketing games.

The reason I think some might consider it under hyped is when compared to megatons like Halo 3, Metroid can easily fall under the radar. That's not a bad thing I think Metroid definitely has the fan base to warrant such efforts. There has been one thing that I liked particularly with Halo 3that Nintendo is employing on Smash Bros. Brawl and that is weekly updates which alone can make a huge difference especially if the developers get creative.

Using this marketing method the game will first and foremost excite the fans and then get new ones if new comers like what they see simply due to the constant attention and word of mouth spreading. So finally did Nintendo do everything that it could have? Certainly not. Was it enough to get people on board? I think so. Also once the game comes out the marketing should increase as those reviews start hitting.

[QUOTE="dumb_person1"]I think Nintendo should somehow create better games, so they can make their fans happier, and the should be more like the other consoles, so people can like more their games.ktulu007

I think that Nintendos got the games pretty much down but I disagree with nintendo making their systems more like the others. A large part of nintendo's appeal has always been innovation. Consoles like the Wii and handhelds like the DS are prime examples. Unique interfaces like they have provide a completely different gaming experience than you get on the PS3 or 360. Could you imagine a game like Nintendogs or lost magic without the touch screen? Suddenly really appealing titles become so much crap. As for the wii it may be somewhat problematic to get used to the remote interface but once you do the gaming experience is pretty unparrelleled especially compared to the PS3 and 360 which have essentially the same type of controls.

Think about it the least innovative Nintendo console the GC was the greatest failiure of them all.

You know what I'm starting to find ironic? You guys all seem to have an easier time naming the disastrous old school games than naming the good ones. :lol:REVOLUTIONfreak

Yeah we've all bought are fair share of bargain bin games and i think this is one of thef ew pleaces for others to hear us out. The worst game of all time that was hyped to be the best game and had some serious delay was Sonic CD.

 Stanley Cup and NBA '96 are behind me. The hockey game was okay, but my brother didn't care as long we had a sports game to play each other.:P The worst games I have tried would be Tiny Toons: Buster makes a Bust for SNES. This game was incredibliy easy and boring. The game was dull and can be completed in a day.

The sequel to that is one of my favorite games and pretty much a game that had a lot of influence on theMario Party franchise. The game was Tiny Toons Wacky Sports hope it comes to the VC so all can enjoy it.

I would not call them the new Rare per say but they are integral to Nintendo's future success. Metroid is one of the few Nintendo IP's that caters to the mature audienceand that makes it very important. That said if the control is as good assome have mentioned in previews then we can all except sequels or new games that use FPS mechanics. All in all who really needs rare I always thought that extra polish was only there because Nintendo commanded itand nothing else. Perfect Dark Zero was the buggiest game I've played in years, although a Donkey Kong adventure would be sweet.

On a side note second partypublisher does indeed mean what rev said they have amajority stake in their own company then anyone else (i.e. they are their ownbosses). While 1st party means majority stakeis in the hands of Nintendo.

Can anyone write a review for this. Planning on picking up a bunch of games for my Wii next week and would like to see if this is worth the money.

What I'm really trying to ask here is their anything that makes a game old school other then the tech. For Example in the future say 20 years from now will you be able to look at the Wii and NES in the same cl,ass or will you always consider the old school wemention here to be the only old school?

Is what we call old school today going to merge with what we call next gen today down the line or will they forever be split, maybe everything after the N64 will fall under the new school of gaming while everything prior remains old school. Whatever your thoughts on the matter I personally feel that there is something that I cant put my hands on that truly separates the games of consoles of the last 10 years and their predecessors.

I usually pick up something on a weekly basis, but I have been crammed with so many games on the latest gen that I've hardly had any time for old school goodness. The most recent game was I believe Pilotwings on the SNES and then closely followed by Pilotwings 64 now those are games you can play over and over without ever getting bored. I do think I'll go play some Super Mario WorldI specifically feel like jumping through Chocolate Land (Castle 6) those are my favorite levels along with the first 3.
