@Juub1990: It won't be remembered as a top quality AAA title, but 7's and 8's are by no means considered bad or low quality by anybody. Sales are votes by the consumers while review scores are simple opinions by hired employees.

Neither of which are a representative of objective quality.

Discussing this has led me to consider this: Sony is doing this gen what Microsoft did last gen, just in reverse fashion. Since Sony is by nature a Japanese company, it only makes sense that the majority of their games will in fact be Japanese.

They have the sales already, so they can simply have the games they have on their system that they're known for. They lured a lot of what you guys call "dudebro" gamers to the PS4, and now they can just do what they do best. Last gen Microsoft did the same thing to previously Japanese gamers by offering some exclusive Japanese titles early on in the 360's life cycle, then once they got them on board, they just put a bunch of shooters and third party titles on the system.

Sony is just copying Microsoft's strategy from last generation, and playing to their strengths.

You claim the game isn't quality and suggesting the sales are unwarranted, so you're projecting disappointment and bewilderment based on your views and beliefs.

My comment was spot on, and I've noticed that sentiment to be rather common on gaming websites.

I mean, it's a Japanese console manufacturer. Maybe those people should have done a little more research when purchasing a PS4, or perhaps the Western titles released are enough to keep that casual crowd pacified since those groups tend to stick with very few franchises, and play them loyally until next year's edition comes out.

I find the game to be really good, and apparently so do many others. Having a hard time understanding the mentality behind such selfish personal views.

Ori and the Blind Forest is one of my favorite games of all time. Having said that I wouldn't expect it to be a goty contender simply because I know the game isn't of the same scale as a game like The Witcher 3, and I know the amount of work, money and time puts it in a class above an indie title.

Those things need to be taken in to account by not only reviewers, but by consumers and posters as well.

@nyadc: I've always bought Playstation consoles for the Japanese library as opposed to the half baked exclusives Sony puts out. Naughty Dog's offerings aside.
