Hmmmm righty, I own all 3 and I have to say I'm really struggling to see the hullabaloo?
Firstly, it's only released on 360 in europe and north america, right? So not coming out in Japan, which, let's face it, where FF reaaaally counts, and Versus 13 is still exclusive to PS3.
Secondly, they're working on a 'version' for the 360 - I must have missed these 'worldwide release at the same time as ps3' and the like, all I heard was it is 'in development'. At no point did I hear it would be released at the same time as the PS3 version, I think people, journalists included, are majorly jumping the gun on this.
Thirdly, how is this going to work? The White Engine and FF13 have been built from scratch with the PS3 in mind, so I'm not convinced how the 360 version isn't going to have to sacrifice some quality for the 360 version.
Fourthly, like I said I own both a 360 and PS3 and will be sticking with the PS3 version. There's something about this 360 version which sounds like it could be something of a lazy rushed port to make the bucks and get some nice down-payments from Microsoft for the announcements.
As for e3 being over already? If that's the case words cannot express my disappointment. I found the microsoft conference a massive disappointment, I really did. No significant new IP's, too much emphasis on catch-up (avatars = mii, vision camera = playstation eye so on and so forth). The new dashboard looks interesting, yeah Gears 2 looks absolutely amazing but I have to confess I find myself disappointed.
The Final Fantasy 13 announcement did nothing for me. Yeah, it's a blow to Sony, but is this the kind of ethics we should be celebrating, Microsofts biggest announcement stealing a game we already knew was coming out for PS3 no doubt by chucking money at Square Enix? I find it dubious at best, lazy and cynical at worst.
Yes, the industrys all about money, of course, but I hate the monopoly Microsoft is trying to create just because of the money its already got behind it. The big thing this conference made me realise is just how complacent microsoft are becoming - imitate miis because the wii and mii's were huge, try pull in some of the casual market with rip-offs of buzz and playstation eye, announce no new groundbreaking IP's, show the same fable trailer as at GDC (complete my arse) and finish off with the biggest announcement being the fact they've managed to buy another consoles exclusive over to them as well.
Sad day for gaming all in all, and if Sony and Nintendo follow suit with similarly uninspired performances, this E3 will be the biggest let down of all. Push aside the nabbing of other exclusives and start generating your own, new IP's for goodness sake.
I know I shouldn't be angry seeing as I own all 3 consoles, but they're all getting so obsessed with outdoing one another or imitating one anothers successes that it is just turning into a mess of insipid copying and multi-platforming which is losing the distinction and edge of the industry. I want 360 to have 360 games, my PS3 to have PS3 games and so on and so forth. Microsoft deserve a big fat slap round the face for complacency, if Sony pull a similar move with this rumoured bungie coup I think they deserve the same.

13 versus is still exclusive!!! that means both consoles will get their own FF exclusive... are you sure? if it is then I dont care I wanted versus more but I was always going to get 13 now I'm going to have to figure out will I buy the 360 version or the PS3 version
