Yep, I'm back. University has ended and I've moved home for the summer. Nice A/C and an unlimited supply of internet!
So it's been over a month now without internet and I haven't been up to much. I played lot's of DMC at the beginning, but then I got tired of it in less than a week. Then I took a gaming break and watched the first 5 seasons of The Office twice along with every other DVD I had, and lately I've been putting 50-70 hours a week into Tales of Vesperia, which has turned out to be a great game. Tales of Graces will definitely be on my Christmas list in 2013.
Oh, and big news, I am no longer "swimmy the accounting student". I am now "swimmy the gen. ed. student". For too long I've been thinking and hoping that accounting would get better. I didn't want to change because that would set me back quite a bit, but then I reavaluted things and realized that life is long so what's 1-3 years in exchange for a career that makes me happy. Course I still don't know what that career is yet. I'm going to take a mix of computer cLasses and psych cLasses next year, but I'm also looking in to Human Resources. If I go with HR then I'd actually graduate a semester sooner than I would with accounting, but everything else would require about 2-3 more years of schooling. I'm actually pretty happy that I've finally made the decision. Things would have been better if I'd been able to make it sooner, but nothing can be done about that now. Still, I feel happy and at ease.
In other news, I've started writing again. I'm going to give a serious go at becoming an author now and I'll keep college as a back up plan. (honestly, even if I get a contract for a book I'll still probably need another job for finance reasons) Last time I tried to write a book I wasn't ready, but this time I really think I am.
.
Also, it's two days early, but it's close enough to my 3 year anniversary.

Still have the Ginji icon btw.
You play Devil May Cry 3 for 3 hours, then sleep for 9 hours, then wake up and get a glass of water, then realize you have an electric bill that's overdue, then you mail said bill and stop at the grocery store, then you come home and eat breakfast while watching Talladega Nights, then you take a 3 hour nap, then you play 4 hours of Devil May Cry 3, then you watch an episode of Dexter, then you try to take a nap but can't because you've already overslept for the day, then you play euchre on your iphone, then you play more DMC3, then you try to make nachos but realize you're missing too many ingredients, then you play more DMC3, then you watch 3 more episodes of Dexter, then you sleep for 6 hours, then you play DMC3 for 5 more hours and accidentally save over your Dante file with your Vergil file and now have to restart Dante's from the beginning, and then you watch 4 more episodes of Dexter while making a sig for sonicofshadow, and then you have lunch, and then you play more DMC3, and then you go to cIass where I will finally have internet to post this blog. :D
On the bright side, I've beaten easy, normal, and most of hard mode of DMC3 with Dante but now I have to start again, and I've beaten easy and normal mode with Vergil and I'm a good way through hard mode with him now too.
And I think I told you all about it about a month ago, but due to price hikes from our internet provider we've dropped our package. Also, now that I'm living by myself I probably won't be able to afford any packages by myself so I might go for a while without internet so I'll be limited to the time when I'm on campus.
@Monsieur ShadowofSonic: Your sig…remember, no complaints, non at all.
Song of the Blog: Out of Darkness (DMC4 prologue)
Spring break started for me last night, at least for most of my cIasses. (online cIasses have no spring break so I still have a paper due a week from tomorrow). I've been looking forward to this week for over a month now so I'm going to make the best of it. I've saved up some money for casual spending so that should provide some fun. I've heard Chronicle is good, but I'm not sure if its still in theaters. If it is then I might go take a look at it.
For the most part my plans consist of lying around the apartment dog sitting while my brother is at work. This should provide ample time to finish my current manga and anime and then I plan on working on Major and Slam Dunk. Ever since I got that platinum in Uncharted 3 I haven't really felt like gaming so I don't anticipate doing much of that, but a week is a long time and all so it's hard to say exactly what will happen. Hopefully I won't get too side tracked by gaming like I did over Christmas break. :P
I've also been doing some sig work lately. I made a 5 renders the other day and I've been using these three tutorials on all five renders, trying to learn the changes in effect when you do things slightly different each time. I'm done with 9 of what will eventually be 15 sigs and I'm making progress I think, even if only 2 of the sigs are any good at all. Once I'm done going through each tutorial 5 times I'm going to try and apply what I learned from them all and make a unique sig of my own creation, which would be unlike most of my sigs to date, which are direct byproducts from following tutorials. Most likely this "unique sig" will indeed be very unique, but it will look horrible, but I'm hoping for the best....maybe I'll get lucky. (but probably not)
Been doing a lot of thinking lately too. Not sure why, but I keep spacing out and going into deep thought about things I might tell you guys about at a later date. If there's a nice enough night over spring break then I think I'll go out into the woods and find a nice spot to star gaze... I've found that that's always a nice atmosphere for when you want to really think about something.
Turned out to be a shorter blog than I thought so no pictures to liven things up this time.
Song of the blog: Be Prepared (from the Lion King)
Take care.

I said I'd get pictures and here are a few.
He's a cute little fella, isn't he? He's getting the hang of the housetraining thing and it's nice not coming home just so that I can clean up this.
And here's another picture.
They're always cute when they're small. I'm not looking forward to going through the humping stage though. I pushed to name it Beckett, but it was my brother's dog so he he got the final call, and he named him Murphy.
.
In other news, my sister got engaged a while back. The guy is pretty nice. He's shy, polite, and not very outspoken, which kind of made it weird and hard to get to know him, but he's a good guy. I'm glad she's found someone who's got a good head on his shoulders.
School is meh.
As for gaming, I've only been doing Arkham City lately, but I'm getting a bit tired of it. It's a great game and all, but I think I've just overplayed it. I think I'll play a shooter next. Either back to Bioshock 2 or Red Dead Redemption.

Have a nice week, see you all later.
Semester started last week. The classes seem hard, but the professors seem to all be competent and nice this semester so that's cool. It looks like I'm going to have to commit myself to this semester though which kind of sucks but it should still be better than last semester. It also doesn't look like I'll have too much actual homework this semester, but there's so much reading that I have to do each week that it will probably be at least 6 hours a day to finish it all. (more like 8-10 because it's likely to be boring text and I'm prone to daydream), and in more than a few of my classes around 60%-80% of our final grades come from tests, which usually wouldn't bother me, but I don't have a very good track record with accounting tests.. Guess that's kind of a debatable statement though, since I normally score in the average to slightly above average area, but still, 40-60 percent still doesn't seem good to me. I've managed to get by with those scores thanks to the curves, but it all seems laughable to me. I get a 50 percent on a test and thanks to the curve I get an 80 percent? What happens when I get 50 percent of my work right once I've graduated and am on the job? Fired and never hired again? Even if I actually get 80 percent right I'd still likely get fired. It makes me feel like they're not really preparing us for our future jobs, but I guess this is where that whole student responsibility thing kicks in..... the thing where they make me feel like it's my duty to properly learn the material. -_-
That's all I got to say about that.
.
We found an abandoned puppy on our doorstep a few days ago. It was around 18 degrees that night and the thing was practically frozen to death so we took it in and have been taking care of it ever since. We took it to the store to see if it had one of those chips in it, but it didn't. While we were there they told us that it was probably 2-2 1/2 months old and they couldn't tell us for sure what type of dog it was, but they thought it was some $1500 type (sorry, forget the name) which seems unlikely to me. We've been looking for the owner, but everyone we've asked so far has said that they've never seen it before. Due to my brother's disposition it seems we're going to make it our own if we don't find the owner soon. I don't really mind I guess, but I feel like I'm a bit busy to commit to training a puppy at the moment. For example, yesterday when I came home it had pooped in the crate and managed to smear it everywhere. It took an hour to give it a bath and clean the mess.....an hour that I had planned to use with playing Mass Effect. :x And then there's that school thing thrown in.
It kind of looks like that only the face has traces of a scottish terrier in it.
We've been talking about names, but I don't think we're actually going to name it unless we decide to keep it. My brother wants the name to begin with a "B" because his dog is named Bailey and he wants to keep up with the B thing for some reason. This happened to work well for me because I just finished rewatching Beck so I wanted to name the little guy... Beck. :P But my brother shot the idea down right away. "You can't name him Beck. Our mom's friend's grandson is already named Beck. " -_- I still want to name him Beck though.
He's a cute little guy, but I guess all puppies are. He's not very coordinated yet so he still falls down a lot when he tries to run. Twice now he's fallen into the water bowl and when he tries to walk down the stairs he often slips and flops down (but he's still really small so he doesn't fall down more than one step at a time). It's kind of inconvenient that he's so small because after that bath yesterday it took him ages to stop shivering. Also when you try to take him outside for him to use the bathroom he starts shivering withing minutes.
He gets along well with our other dog, and they seem to like each other, but the problem we're having is that whenever you yell at "Beck" Bailey will react as though you're yelling at her, and since you tend to yell at little puppies a lot, Bailey has been very on edge, thinking she's getting yelled at for no reason.
That's much more than I'd planned on saying about the dog....I'll try and get an actual picture later.
.
As for the money... I recently got paid the last of the 400 dollars that I earned over summer break, and it looks like I'll be getting another 450 soon for reasons I don't feel like getting into. It's nice to have excess money. I call it excess money because I hadn't planned on getting it and I had already made a budget schedule from now until the end of my lease with the funds I currently had so I'm thinking I'm just going to keep my previous budget schedule and keep this money for a rainy day....and maybe video games. I'll admit that I did buy Berserk, but that was only because I found it super cheap at this store that specializes in pre-owned goods. Other games I might consider are Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur (depending on reviews), but I still have a few games left to beat so I'll hold off until then.
Oh, and I also have extra money in my budget because schoolbooks were about $500 cheaper than I'd budgeted for. The last three semesters they've averaged about $750 and I always assume worst case scenarios for my budgets so I'd allotted $1000 to text books this semester. Turns out they only cost me about $500 this year.....so that's more money to play with, but at the same time I'm down $100 because I'd originally forgotten to include the parking pass expense to my budget.
.
As for gaming, many of you might recall that I got a quite few games over Christmas. Well around that time I got the gaming monkey on my back and I've been playing games nearly nonstop for the past month. In this past month I've beaten Batman: Arkham Asylum (twice), Bioshock, Uncharted 3 (twice), Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, Ratchet and Clank (the original), and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. I'm also a good bit through Bioshock 2, but I'll have to wait on that because I accidentally left the disc at my parents house. All of these games were very good I thought, especially Batman. I'm still a bit disappointed with Uncharted 3 though due to the lack of a shop and the lack of a satisfying final boss.
As for my current gaming, these last few days I've been playing Arkham City whenever I'm in my bedroom and whenever I'm in the living room watching the dog I'll play Mass Effect (because I'm too lazy to repeatedly move my ps3 from one room to the other). Arkham City is great, but not as amazing as I'd heard. I like the new combat moves and the ease of quickfiring gadgets in combat. Also the combat in general seems more polished than in Arkham Asylum, but there are still a few bugs it seems because every now and then I'll still punch the wrong guy even though he's in the opposite direction of the way I'm pressing. The riddles I especially like. They're a lot harder than Arkham Asylum and I thoroughly enjoy figuring them out. The scanning riddles aren't done well though I think because you just have to go to the spot on the map and scan randomly until you find it, which kind of bothers me. In Arkham Asylum I preferred the scanned riddles over the trophy riddles because the scanned ones were more challenging, but now it's the other way around....go figure. When I said it wasn't as good as I'd heard I was mostly talking about the story. Admittedly I'm not that far in yet because I've only spent my time doing riddles, but so far the story hasn't impressed me at all. Oh, and playing as Catwoman actually is fun....I was skeptical of that beforehand so that's another nice thing..
As for Mass Effect, keep in mind I'm only about an hour and a half in, but I really like the story so far. I'm not impressed with the combat yet, but I've only done that first mission so there's still plenty of time for that to change. For now though I feel like I'm playing more for the story and the cutscenes than anything.....which doesn't bother me at all because the story is so intriging so far. I tried making my own face for my character and I spent at least 30 minutes going through all the options....and in the end I had a guy who looked cool from the front, but from the sides he was really ugly. :P So I deleted him and went with the default look.
.
Blog was longer than I meant to make it, sorry. I tried to fit more pictures into the blog this time because certain blue flower man told me to and I felt like I should comply. *looks at the one picture*.....well, uh,...I'll put more in next time.
Song of the Blog: Hit in America. Instead of the actual song I'll just link to the Beck OP. Hopefully it will get someone to watch the anime.
First off, the highlights of my year.
Outside life:
I've gotten 2 more semesters of university under my belt, still striving to be an accountant for some reason that even I don't fully understand. It's not easy, or fun, or fulfilling, but I'm sure doing it for the rest of my life won't be too bothersome. It's either that, or start over as something else, or become an old hermit who lives in the woods and eventually becomes so lonely I start talking to trees for company, so unless I find something I actually enjoy there's not really anything I can do about it. It's really pretty surprising how uneventful my normal life is. In the past year I've made no new friends, nor have I gained any new experiences except for the university part and learning how to cook for myself. So really this year has been a pretty big waste. (if this seems familiar that's because it was copied and pasted from my end of year blog from last year....but it all still applies pretty well)
.
Christmas came and went in a disappointing fashion this year. I don't know why it happened, but it never really felt like Christmas this year, even during the part where we were opening presents. I wasn't expecting much this year, but I still made out pretty well. I got....
-A toolbox
-Socks
-2 tires
-A wheel
-Windshield wipers
-Some Gift Cards
-and the following games
I then used a gift card and some cash to buy
So for now at least I'm swimming in games. I already beat Arkham Asylum and I think I'm close to beating Uncharted 3 as well. I have a week and a half left until school starts so you can bet that I'll have some more done soon. Probably Ratchet and Clank next and then Bioshock after that.
.
As for internet life, meh. I've been around more than I've been showing. I just haven't felt like posting much and for a while all I would do while online was read manga nonstop. Now that I stop and think about it I've been pretty lame this year. Last year I at least had 4 achievements, pathetic as they were at least they existed. This year I feel like I've done nothing.
.
Anyway, before people start chanting "bait and switch" I should get on with what the title implies this blog is about.
Starting with the big one, Game of the Year. And I'd like to note that because I don't have nearly enough money to play all the newly released games from this year, I don't give the awards based of of their year of release, but instead all the entries are the games that I beat for the first time over this past year, so without further ado...
Game of the Year: My game of the year this year is Uncharted 2 Among Theives.
There really was no competition for this spot even though I've beaten quite a few high scoring games this year. The funny dialogue, the gameplay (even though there are a few tweaks with the cover system), and the amazing music and story all make this game one of my all time favorites. The dynamic scenes that occurred while moving about really gave a sense of urgency and suspense to the entire game so you're pretty well kept on the edge of your seat the first time through which really makes the game seem longer than it is. There is a ton of replay value to this game too, which, in my opinion, is an important quality in games, and you can spend weeks going through the game again and again, trying to nab every piece of treasure and trying to unlock everything in bonus shop.
Other good games that I think should be mentioned include
-Devil May Cry 4: I was pretty skeptical at first and I didn't like Nero much, but he eventually grew on me. The music was good as always and the fighting was fun too. The only problems I had were that the plot seemed too anime-ish and there weren't any real innovations when it came to fighting as Dante.
-Batman Arkham Asylum: I might be a bit biased on this one because I only just beat it an hour or two ago so I haven't properly digested the content yet. I'll just say that I liked the story, the combat, and the riddles, but there wasn't much behind the music and I don't like how you end up spending 90% of your time in detective mode instead of looking a the game's actual graphics.
-Assassin's Creed 2: The Desmond story was especially great and it really sucked you in. The Ezio story wasn't quite as good, but it was still interesting. The combat was a great improvement over the first game and just running across rooftops was fun too. By far better than Brotherhood and AC1 in my opinion (but I haven't played revelations yet). Probably the best part of the game was the story. There was a constant curiosity about what was going to happen and it just seemed to never end. If there is any flaw in this game it is that by the end of the game you're tired of fighting. It just starts to feel tedious eventually because it's always the same. Sure, throat slitting counters are cool the first 200 times, but they quickly lose their appeal around the 205 mark. And of course you can theoretically switch things up by using other weapons, but it's not worth losing the efficiency of the hidden blade counter.
Anime of the Year: This was a difficult one to decide on because I've seen a lot of very good anime this year but none of it was really outstanding.....and now that you're all so hyped up from that entrance speech I give you this years winner....season 2 of Kaiji.
Poor lance, if only I'd kept my promise then the winner might have been a certain space opera.....but back to our winner, Kaiji seems to be a lesser known title so I'll give some background. There's a guy (Kaiji) who cosigns a loan and ends up owing a huge debt to some bad people. How do you pay off a huge debt? Through gambling of course. Kaiji is about a guy who gambles to pay off his huge debt. Not normal gambling mind you, but through super difficult and mind meshing types of gambles. Lots of twists and turns, and TONS of suspense. Worth watching, even though I don't really consider it to be outstanding. (note that I have high standards in considering something to be "outstanding" so please take that into consideration)
Manga of the Year: This one was even more difficult to decide on than the best anime, but for the reason that I have read SO many great manga series this year. Great manga series such as One Piece, Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, Hikaru no Go, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Death Note, Dragon Ball, and FMA. It really wasn't easy to pick from these series and they're all worthy of praise, but the series that I've decided to crown the winner is Naruto.
It may sound weird because the anime sucks so much lately, but the manga is incredible in nearly every conceivable way. It's emotionally moving at times, it has a good plot and a fair few of plot twists (without going overboard with them like other series that will not be named), there are lots of great characters, and the action is pretty well drawn too. My only beef with it is that it refuses to let it's characters die. People will have greatly done death scenes and then turn out to not really be dead (either that or they'll come back to life somehow)....kind of pisses me off. Aside from that though, this is the best manga I've read all year. You all know what it's about so I'll skip the summary.
Other manga titles that were seriously considered were
-Fullmetal Alchemist
-Death Note
-Rurouni Kenshin
Movie of the Year: Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.
The basis of this movie series is the same as the series that it's based off of (creatures called "Angels" attack the planet and our only defense are the Eva mechas), but the actual story is different so don't just assume it's a retelling of the NGE anime. The first movie of the series was a great movie, but the second was much better. You really develop some strong feelings towards the characters and the plot developments of the second movie were impressively done. All in all, a very good movie that I would highly recommend to just about anyone....above the age of 10.
User of the Year: You!
Would have been ikhzo if he'd made a new blog.
Song of the Year: I heard a lot of new and good music this year, but still the winner is Afutadaku....no clue what anime it's from or who sings it though. I only ever managed to find it through random itune store searches. It's apparently an obscure song because neither Youtube nor Google Search are leading me to the song.....so instead please enjoy Jumper by Third Eye Blind.
.
Guess that does it for awards....can't think of anything else to do.
So til next time.
~swimmer
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Merry Christmas folks!
Christmas break has as good as started for me. I've only got one final left, but it's a freaking joke of a final. I'm confident that I can pass it easily with no studying at all so I'm just going to ignore it for now and do a 1 or 2 hour cram for it on Monday. My other finals went well and I'm pretty sure that I made it through all of my cIasses, but there is one that I'm iffy on. I tried to figure out what my grade was in the cIass but the way the professor weighted the grades makes no sense so I'm not sure if I'm passing or not. I can have anything from an F to a C with that weight chart she gave us. As for that icore thing I talked about a few months ago, it's finally over too. We did our presentation today and it went pretty well. I'm not a good public speaker so I stuttered once or twice, but so did a lot of people so I didn't feel too embaressed about it. Next semester should be a bit easier except for the 4 accounting cIasses I'll have to take.
.
Enough of that though. It's nearly Christmas. What do you guys have planned? Any special gifts you guys want?
Unfortunately I had some car trouble and I can't afford to fix it so now most of what santa is bringing me this year involves tires and wheels. (which are surprisingly expensive) I had to knock off some of the games I was going to get, including Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Persona 3, Mass Effect 2, and Uncharted 3. I'm kind of upset about it, but I really can't go without my car so I guess they'll have to wait until next Christmas. (or until I get a job, which I might actually be able to do next semester) I also asked for a sword initially, but I was told no because I already have enough (I only have 2 though >_>)
As for plans, I don't have much. Every year me and my sister do some Christmas themed puzzle so I guess I'll look forward to doing that at some point. Besides that I'll probably just lay around and read manga and watch anime. So far I've decided to try and finish Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Gintama (manga), Hayate no Gotoku (manga), and also there's this other manga that I've had my eye on for a while called Kure-nai that I want to have done by the end of break. Oh, and I want to finish Final Fantasy XIII by Christmas.
So I've got nothing big going on it seems. :P
.
So as I said before, what are your guys' plans? You Christmas Lists? How did your semesters go?
.
Song of the blog - Natsukage (I think I might have used this one before though)

Next blog will be post Christmas day.
So my 21st birthday ended less than an hour ago, and it was a pretty good birthday I must say. I woke up early (around 3am) and spent a few hours trying to get back to sleep, but I eventually gave up and just read manga until other people woke up. After that the day went pretty quick. I don't feel like typing a long essay blog so I'll just put the notable points of the day into bullet points below.
That's about it......after the games I came back to my apartment and started typing this blog. I actually didn't drink a gigantic amount so I shouldn't have much of a hangover, if any at all.
.
And yeah, I've been gone again from GS, and right after starting a comeback too. It wasn't my fault so much as it was my schoolwork's fault. It was just like getting hit by a runaway train. All of a sudden I had a ton of big assignments due and assignments that I thought were small and easy assignments turned out to be really hard and take ages to do. For several days in a row I was going into the university library almost right at opening to work on my homework. That coupled with a few all nighters and I managed to get everything done.....it was an incredibly stressful few weeks and by the end of it my eye was twitching nonstop because of the stress and I was freaking out and getting really pissed off over really small things. All of that stress evaporated instantly after I turned in that last paper. The day after I turned it in I was so very very happy. Multiple times throughout that day I would just be sitting there and suddenly realize that I had nothing to do and the joy I felt would just make me start laughing loudly and stupidly. This continued on the next day too, but it wasn't as bad. Technically I could have made my comeback blog on that day after turning in my paper, but I was so giddy that I just didn't feel like coming online at all. Then I got busy for a little bit with non-school stuff and....now I'm here......at least I was. I'm going to bed once I'm done with the blog, but when I get up I'll come back and post around then. Hopefully for longer than after my last attempted comeback.
Also, I noticed I have 5 pm's in my inbox. For whatever reason GS isn't opening the box correctly (it keeps telling me the link is broken) so I'll check those and respond to them later.......just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you.
.
For the song of the blog, this time I'll go with Rain from Cowboy Bebop.
I've been gone for almost three weeks and I only got 5 messages from people who were worried about me? :o....*feels unloved*
Actually I didn't get any of those....just a lot of people asking for stuff. So to those of those who actually noticed my disappearance, thanks. :3
Anyway, I disappeared a while back because my laptop broke again. I took it in to a professional diagnostic person and he reckons there's just something faulty about my laptop that causes hard drives to go bad since that's now two in the last 2 months that have gone bad. He told me I should just buy a new one instead of continuing to throw money into the old one....so that's what I did. It's supposed to be here by next Friday at the latest and I'm pretty excited for it. It seems like it's going to just be a more modern version of my old laptop, but whatever, I'll finally have a screen that can play HD videos so I'm fine with it.
My reason for not being online with my ps3 is that we don't have internet at the new apartment yet.
.
So that's why I was gone for so long, here's what I've been doing in my absence.
The new semester started and it's already kicking my butt. Those Icore cIasses are no joke and without Internet it's hard keeping up with them, even with the campus computers. Enough about school though because I really just don't want to talk about it. (I will say that if things keep going like they are then I might have to take another leave of absence from the Internet like I did last fall...I don't want to fall behind this semester, especially since this time I have a group that I could drag back with me)
Apart from academic stuff I've been spending time on campus for the anime club. We had our first meeting last Friday and our next one is in a few hours. It's pretty cool and there's a surprisingly large selection of anime since all of the members pooled our stuff together. There were only about 6 of us at the meeting though which was disappointing I thought, but I'm told that they normally average about 20 after the first week since people tend not to come while they're still settling into the new semester. Despite having so few people I thought the meeting was fun, we watched Soul Eater for a few hours and it was fun having multiple people laugh at the same parts that I was laughing at, which was just a new and different anime watching experience to me. I'm looking forward to our future meetings.

Without a laptop or Internet there hasn't been much to do at the new apartment lately. I've been filling that time by watching lots of The Office and we recently got a season of Psych, but I've already blown through that one too. Last night I found a complete set of Noir at a bargain bin store so I bought that, even though I don't know what it's about. :P I've heard of it before and I think I've seen good things being said about it in the Toonami Union, but I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right series. It's mine now though so oh well. It's the first time I've owned an anime DVD so that's kind of cool too. Apart from the DVD scene though I've also been spending my apartment time reading quite a bit of manga. Border's going out of business sale has been freaking awesome for me and I'm glad I finally had some spare money, almost all of which I blew on manga. Here's a list of what I got. (not a complete list since I'm likely to forget a few things and leave them out)
Akira - Volume 1
Inuyasha - Volumes 10, 11, 12
Vagabond - Volumes 10-18
20th Century Boys - Volume 1
Berserk - Volumes 8-11, 13-15 (they didn't have 12 which sucked because it's the beginning of the Eclipse)"
Bleach - Volumes 1, 2, 4-7
Buso Renkin - Volumes 2-7, 9, 10
Claymore - Volumes 7, 10, 11, 17, 18
Death Note - Volume 2
Fullmetal Alchemist - Volumes 4, 5, 6
Gintama - Volume 3
Gurren Lagann - Volumes 1-5
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni - Volume 2 of the "Abducted by Demons Arc", Volumes 1-2 of the "Curse Killing Arc", and Volumes 1-2 of the "Beyond Midnight Arc".
Hikaru no Go - 1-3 and 16-21
One Piece - 54, 57
Soul Eater - 1
Toriko - 2
Pluse one of the Vampire Hunter D novels.
I count 68 volumes, most of which was gotten half off or less. The pickings were slim, which is why the volume numbers are so out of order.
So I've been busying myself with that as well, I've almost read all of them so far and I don't regret the splurging I did.
That pretty much sums up what I've been doing at home lately, reading manga and watching The Office....not such a bad way to spend my time I think.

I guess that's everything major I wanted to say, other things to note, I made an Xbox Live account (I made it after my laptop broke and before moving out), the name for it is NeroNexus1029, feel free to send friend requests.

Guess that's all I've got to say. I hope that you all have been doing well recently. I hear OA got banned, hopefully no one else has been.
