I'd have to say that everybody except for Metal is overlooking the point; Auron is a better fighter, he can learn all of the magic and more that Cloud can, and without weakening himself. Auron's much more intelligent, Masamune > Ultima Weapon, Auron uses armor and a bracer, and Cloud can run around all day, if Auron blocks everything that Cloud throws at him, then Cloud's speed advantage is all for naught.IceDefenseGod

Except Auron can't summon, only Yuna could in FFX. Intelligence really doesn't give Auron much of an advantage either because A) The fighting will be fast-paced and B) Technique>Intelligence in fast-paced fights. Intelligence would help Auron in a situation that was slow-paced, he's smart but he's not THAT smart. He would have to use techniques (which he is clearly lesser in terms of than Cloud's techniques) like standing on his sword logged into a building, using six sword combinations, using sword efficiently as a shield, atheleticism techinques in the air the list goes on. The point is Auron is too slow compared to Cloud to even use his intelligence in a useful manner, and even then what would he use it for? Clouds master materia is FAR too powerful in comparison to anything Auron has, plus Cloud can just mime everything he is using without use of MP.

[QUOTE="eztarg8"]OK metal imagine this, take your best friend (if you don't have any friends pic your mom) and then have them get stabbed in the spine. OK now get some of that delicious blood on your face. You obviously had enough time to save them and it cost them their life. Pile that on top of it was the same person that murdered you family and the majority of you home town. Don't blow it off and say you would be the same, really think about it. OK I want an intellectual answer from you or else I will have to conclude that you don't care about anyone you know and therefore emo.fs_metal
I wouldn't mope. I would take action. I would kick the guys ass. That's what I would do. I owuld not sit there and go 'woe is me. Feel sorry for me because someone I knew for a week died' like Cloud did. That's pathetic. Be a frickin man. Not some whiney little emo #$@!$

You'd "kick the guys ass"? LOL! you'd be too unstable to think straight, probably even scared out of your mind. This is reality we're talking about here, this isn't what you view on movies when you see some guy go all beserk and takes down the bad guys when he's lost people he loved. That kind of thing never happens in reality because it's impossible to think clearly when something that horrible happens in your life, you'd have to think clearly in order to "take down the bad guys" otherwise they'd kill you. Even then, you'd need experience in combat if they carried a weapon. Of course Cloud isn't a real person but we're using what he's been through as a fine example and then converting it into reality in this particular situation.

One question: Have you ever been in a horrible situation sort of like this? It doesn't have to be exact or even close, but maybe something along the lines of seeing a person die at the very least with your own two eyes.

He wallowed in self pity by obsessing over the death of Aeris for 2 straight years. which basically made him helpless. HE was very very emofs_metal

Do you know what obsessing is? It's when someone cannot get re-occuring thoughts of an issue/activity/event out of their head and it consumes part of their life. Cloud never obsessed over Aeris, he could just never forgive himself for his weakness at that one time. Besides, he had a job as a delivery boy to keep busy.

I would like to know why you think an obsession would have anything to do with being emo? There are people that obsess over their material things and feel strongly towards them, there are people that are obsessed with certain events of their lives in some manner or form; even a death. Sure there are emos that have obsessions, possibly even OCD; but it's not a qualification for being an emo.

1) Cloud has never cried, it doesn't show Cloud crying when Aeris dies. He says his eyes are burning, that means rage. Nor did he cry when Zack died, he went beserk. Of course CC just shows him feeling a little down right after his scream.

2) Cloud has went through a lot, emo's generally don't go through many TRUE emotional experiences when they cry. It doesn't take much for an emo to cry, heck they'll do it on purpose.

[QUOTE="DJ-Lafleur"]Being depressed for a long while doesn't always mean being "emo". He never did anything "emo", he never wore anything "emo" like, he just had depression a little longer, which is justifiable, considering many people he has cared about died by one of his biggest role models, he lost his hometown, was experimented on alot, got picked on by some kids when he was a child sometimes, and found out his whole life was a lie. He may have been depressed a while, he may have been selfish sometimes, but he always fought to take down any obstacles, whether he was pushed by Tifa or not. He may fight for himself sometimes, but he certainly wouldn't want any of his comrads dying on him, either. fs_metal
He did something emo by being obsessed and helpless because of what happened to Aeris FOR 2 YEARS! He was emo

1) What are you talking about? Can you explain exactly what this "something" is that Cloud did?

2) Being obsessed or helpless has nothing to do with being emo.

[QUOTE="fs_metal"]I've lost people I love deeply and care about. You don't see me being depressed constantly do you? Cloud IS emofs_metal

Except Cloud's friends and family were murdered, and he witnessed them being killed making it much worse (I mean no offense to your loved ones at all and apologize if this upsets you). His hometown was burned to the ground, Sephiroth was his hero and seeing his own idol carry out those acts added even more pain. Also lets not forget about the huge psychological damage he went through with realizing how many of his memories were not true. Put yourself in his shoes, if you suddenly realized important parts of your past were not true and yet you believed they were for the longest time, how would that effect you?

I would get over it a hell of alot quicker than he would. Cloud was emo

So basically you concede this argument by stating something with no explanation on why you would think that. Seriously, put some thought into what you believe, the discussion goes nowhere if you state the same thing everytime.

First off, Cloud isn't emo. He's always down and depressed, yes. However, he has legitimate causes to being so down all of the time:

Obviously the deaths of two of his friends, his hometown, his mother and all of the confusion that went along with it when he was infused with Jenova cells and took on Zacks memories. You'd think he would of committed suicide by now, many STRONG-WILLED people probably couldn't handle a life like that. Not to mention he was always picked on when he was a kid. Plus, he was born a weak person.

Tidus on the other hand, is pretty much as emo as anyone can get. He always cried like a baby, he was annoying when he spoke and to top it all off he had no reason to cry. He lived a good life btw.
