Cast Your Votes

Should I intentionally flunk my Economics 100 mid-semester test tomorrow? All in favour, say a'ight!

I listened to Castaways and Cutouts by The Decemberists this morning. It's awesome. A few songs are tad too slow, but I love it overall.

I'm so sleep deprived and somewhat bummed out.

I Think I'm G-...

Now, now, before I finish that sentence, let me explain. Recently, I've found myself trying to expand my musical horizons a bit. I try to take recommendations from other people with similar taste in music to me, and I've learned of some amazing artists by doing so.

I just felt like writing a blog about music because I downloaded Florence and The Machine's Lungs last night, and I'm already in love with the album.

Looking back at my endeavours in music, I think the band that introduced me to a lot of the music that I've spent the past five years listening to was System of a Down. It was, I believe, during the winter of 2005 that I purchased two of their albums impulsively. From then onwards, I became somewhat of a Metalhead.

I used to listen to a lot of Nu or Alternative Metal bands, such as Disturbed, Mudvayne and Slipknot for a few years now. I enjoyed that genre/s of music but, the problem was, that was all I listened to pretty much. Ilistened to the occassional bands that I knew and loved since my childhood discovery of the Rock genre, such as Blink-182 and Sum 41 (They're not really "Rock", I know), but my taste in music was very limited.

Meeting users on GameSpot who are avid music listeners, as well as whose musical horizons are quite broad as opposed to mine, helped me discover many new bands. Here are a few people I'd like to shout out to:

  • Fall_of_Reach
  • Cactus_Matt
  • COD4Shinedown
  • freek666
  • joelgargan

Without those users on GameSpot, I don't think I'd be listening to bands like Tool, Porcupine Tree and Alice in Chains. I doubt I'd even pay attention to cIassic albums like Urban Hymns by The Verve.

I'm still expanding my taste in music though, and am welcome to (almost!) any suggestions made by you guys.

To end this blog, I must admit something… I think I'm going Indie. Seriously, I never saw this coming, but I am. I've been hooked on Florence and The Machine and The White Rabbits for a few months now, but I finally made the jump to the Indie wagon as soon as I downloaded Lungs last night. I'm currently downloading the entire discography of The Decemberists. :|

Don't worry, Ron. I'm not gunna start wearing skinny jeans and spend two hours on my hair every morning. -.-

I Hate People...

Na, Ium jus' kiddin'. I lub joo gais.

Business Law online skills task tomorrow. Woot!

Why do they call a giant spring roll a giant spring roll when, in fact, it's not really a giant spring roll? It's very misleading!

Two Years and One Hundred Blogs

My time here on GameSpot has reached it's second milestone, and with it, also marks my one hundredth blog. Woot!... I think. So, let's get this party started!

Thank You Kindly

I really ought to stop helping people.

My high school "friend" randomly called me up yesterday while I was (not really) enjoying some chicken-salted hot chips and wedges (with vinegar!!!), asking whether I knew there was a Marketing 100 assignment due in the next day. The conversation went something like this:

Me (Your Humble Narrator): "Yeah."
My "friend": "****! Have you finished it?"
Your Humbley Bumbliness: "Yeah, a week ago... Why?"
Douchebag: "****ing Hell! ****! I just found out and I haven't even started!"
Moi: *With a lack of interest* "Wow..."
Idiot: "Man. ****! Are you at uni(versity)?"
Narrator: "Yep."
Waste of my ****ing life: "****, man! I'm ****ed! Can you help me on it?"
Dil(l) Pickle: "Yeah, sure?" (If only he could hear the question markiness in my voice)
****face: "Oh thanks, man. I'll be there in twenty."
(WHY,) Dilshan (,WHY?!): "M'kay..."

And so, he showed up to university and I helped him on his Marketing 100 assignment from... 3:30-ish in the afternoon, 'til about... 6:30-ish in the evening. I was planning on staying 'til about 9:00 PM, but there were storm warnings for Perth (Haven't we had enough?!), and dad had already shown up when I hadn't called him. I have an assignment due for Business Information Systems 100 on Friday, an assignment due for Economics 100 on Tuesday, and a Business Law 100 online skills task on that same day to study for. Zat waz a moufful.

I doubt that my "friend" would ever consider paying me back for saving his time, his money and whatever else he has left. I'm too easy on people. He'll probably never learn, and I'm doubtful that I ever will, either.

I hope life returns me the favour soon. God, how I need it...

Thank You

Thanks to anyone and everyone who read my blog from yesterday and decided to take their time to offer me some support. I greatly appreciate that a lot of my online friends actually care about me. :)

I've sent a PM to thank everybody who came to me with some helpful advice and offers to listen to me. Thanks for understanding my situation. :)

Bye now!

O Synyster, What Happened to You?

No idea, dude, but I'm just bloggin' to hit the one hundred mark before I hit the two year mark. I'm in a better mood today, and since all of my blogs as of late have been *****ing about university, Romesh and talking about movies, I've decided to do something completely out of the ordinary.

Romesh plugged the PS3 back in. Douchebag! He'd been acting like he's on the verge of suicide for a couple of days after I removed it, so dad decided to let him plug it back in.

Even more artwork (for anybody who cares!):

I'll just be On My Way to a Happy Ending

Been listening to Muse's The Resistance lately. Love it so far, but haven't listened to the last three tracks yet.

Do you wanna walk down to Electric Avenue, and then eat papayas? Or would you rather rock down to the same place, and then take it higher?

I watched Sex Drive again on Friday. Still awesome.

Still catching up with university. Marketing is annoying. Anybody a Kings of Leon fan here? If so, I hate y- Will you help me with my Marketing assignment?
