Episode 149: Legacy of a Hero, Brutus!

On the battlefield, prison guards are flying back.

Policeman: Hold them back! Don't let them get even one step further!

He screams as he is blasted by a Barrel Dragon, flying through a door. Other policeman step back as one man snickers with a Shooting Quasar Dragon.

???: Grand Slaughter Cannon!

A laser streaks across the ground, blowing back several members. The one robed figure looks in shock as Quasar is absorbed by a huge figure.

Policeman: What the…?

Greg steps forward with other prisoners behind them.

Greg: I sure don't feel safe with incompetent guards like you protecting our prison. How about we lend you a helping hand just this once?

Opening

Yusuke: Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate?

Dante: It means, "Abandon all hope ye who enter here." It was the little joke we came up for. Any intruders better lose hope, because they'll be in for a hellish time once they step inside.

Baron: Trying to pass themselves off as intelligent with their language skills? How lame.

Rika: Not everyone is as well versed in Spanish or French as we are. They must think everyone else isn't.

Seth: Either way, the longer wait the closer they get to accomplishing their insane goals. Let's hurry up and get in there.

Everyone walks towards the doors. Axel walks up as Tamika hangs back.

Tamika: Are you sure you're ready for this?

Axel: What kind of asinine question is that? Yeah I'm ready. What's the matter?

Tamika: Nothing…who the hell do you think I am? It's just…is there something you want to do before you head in?

Axel: Nothing comes to mind. Look, if you need to do something, go ahead and do it. We won't get another chance like this.

Tamika: I….nothing.

She starts to walk off, but then does a heel turn and kisses Axel on the mouth. His eyes widen in shock as she pulls off, heading inside.

Dante: Stop slacking around back there! Get inside already!

Tamika: Coming.

Chimera glances at Tamika as Axel follows, still blinking.

Alicia: Something happen? You've got a weird look on your face.

Axel: Fine I guess. Just a little confused.

Dante opens the door.

Arnold: Open…that's not a good sign.

Neo: Might as well hang a sign saying, "This way stupid."

As they walk inside, everyone shivers.

Chimera: This chill in the air…it isn't just a result of the temperature. It must be the atmosphere. They're lying in wait for sure.

Koga: I don't see where we're supposed to go now. There's no doors or anything. Huh? A card.

He walks over and picks up. Suddenly, a trapdoor opens under him and he falls. Arnold and Seth run after him and fall into trapdoors as well.

Yusuke: Oh no! A trap!

Trapdoors under his feet as he falls. Neo and Chimera back away as they fall as well. Dante looks around as everyone falls through a trapdoor. Tamika falls as Axel grabs her hand.

Axel: Come on, pull yourself up!

Tamika struggles to move, but falls into the pit. Axel falls backwards as he falls through a door as well. Dante clenches his fist and growls.

Dante: I see Vergil….so I'm your real target after all.

He begins to walk off. In a dark room, Yusuke stands up.

Yusuke: Where…?

Vergil: Welcome, holders of the Fate Crystals.

Everyone reacts to the voice as Vergil sits watching the Inferno. Axel is alone while Tamika is with Chimera, Alicia is with Neo, Seth is with Koga and Arnold, and Baron is with Rika.

Vergil: I see you have come after all. It is pointless. The Inferno nears completion even now. Soon, the doors to the Underworld will open and black out the Sun. But if you think you can stop me, then fight your way your way down to the bottom of Hell. We'll see if you can make it.

Seth: So now he's outright challenging us.

Axel: Bring it on!

Tamika: We'll wipe that smugness out of your voice.

Baron: Quite the blowhard. I accept your challenge as the baron of Spain!

Everyone runs down their assigned corridors. Dante walks down a flight of stairs and looks grim.

Dante: Let's hope I still know my way around.

Vergil: There you go my soldiers. The time has come. Be prepared to fight to the bitter end. Only by creating an ocean of their blood can our goals be finished.

Brutus, Charlotte, Dex, Rasputin, the cloaked Rooster, and Faust all look upset as they activate their Duel Disks. In a dark room, Axel is walking.

Axel: We must be underground for it to be this dark. Damn…can't see three feet ahead of me. Who builds a freaking castle under the dirt? Everyone is nuts, I swear.

He remembers getting kissed by Tamika and blushes, rubbing his head.

Axel: And what was that all about? Why'd she up and do that? Man girls are nuts. Still though…it felt pretty good.

He sees a door open ahead with light pouring out.

Axel: Looks like I'm not alone down here. Time to pound some face in.

He runs through the doors. He looks around in shock as there are countless TV sets on and broadcasting. He walks forward seeing the footage of many duels.

Reporter: Another stunning win by Brutus!

Reporter 2: And Brutus takes the Far East Grand Championship by storm!

Reporter 3: Ladies and gentlemen, we are witnessing the birth of a shining new superstar! Whether you like him or not, Brutus is definitely someone to keep an eye on!

Axel stands there as Brutus sits in his wheelchair, turning around.

Brutus: Sorry. In my weaker moments, I am overcome with nostalgia and well…I want to make sure it was not all a dream.

Axel: To think you'd be my opponent.

Brutus: I know. If there really is a god up there, he has one messed up sense of humor. But you aren't here to hear an old man prattle on. Let's get to it.

Axel: Why do we have to fight? You're honorable enough to know that fighting gives us nothing.

Brutus: Fighting may give you nothing, but I am fighting with a goal in mind. If you are too scared, too bad. You may not get by until you finish the battle.

Axel: Damn it. That's really your final answer isn't it? Fine then. I've made up my mind. I've come to crush you all! If I have to go through you as well, then so be it!

He takes a card out of his pocket and clenches his fist.

Axel: White- Horned Dragon…please fight with me. Help me get back your old master's soul.

He slips the card into his deck and draws his Duel Disk, activating it. Brutus presses a button on his chair as a Duel Disk slides in front of him.

Both: Duel! [Brutus LP = 4000] [Axel LP = 4000].

Axel: I'll go first! Here I go, draw. I set a monster in face down defense mode. Then I'll set a card and end my turn.

Brutus: That's awfully careful of you. From what I heard, you're aggressive in your duels. Hm, either way. Here I go, draw! First I use the Field Spell card Jurassic World.

The whole field turns into a lush forest.

Brutus: Now all Dinosaur monsters gain 300 attack and defense points. I Special Summon my Gilasaurus [ATK 1400-1700/DEF 400-700 LV 3]. This card can be Special Summoned, but if I do, my opponent can Special Summon one monster from the graveyard. However, since it is the first turn that is impossible. Now I release my Gilasaurus and Advance Summon my Evolsaur Terias [ATK 2400-2700/DEF 600-900 LV 6]. Battle. I destroy that set monster.

Terias roars and runs over, stomping the set monster into paste.

Brutus: Then I set a card and end my turn.

Axel: As expected, you go right in for the kill. Too bad that isn't enough to scare me away! Here I go, draw! Trap card, Powerful Rebirth. This lets me revive one monster with an increase level, attack points, and defense points. I revive The Dragon Dwelling in the Cave [ATK 1400/DEF 2100 LV 5]. Then I summon the Tuner monster Spiked Dragon [ATK 1200/DEF 600 LV 3]. I tune my level 3 Spiked Dragon and level 5 The Dragon Dwelling in the Cave.

Dragon turns into 3 rings that Cave flies through, becoming 5 stars [3 + 5 = 8]

Axel: Feel it, the shattering of the earth and the busting winds that becomes a savage power. Synchro Summon! Pulse and destroy, Brute Force Dragon [ATK 3000/DEF 2500 LV 8]. I'm going to go all out against you! Since Spiked Dragon was the Tuner, you take 500 points of damage.

Spikes shoot out as Brutus groans and is pushed back a little [Brutus LP = 3500].

Brutus: I see. A Synchro user eh? I've been more partial to Exceed monsters myself, but a diversity of decks is a good thing.

Axel: Yeah? Well good thing. This deck is one of a kind! Brute Force Dragon attacks. When he attacks, all Spells and Traps are destroyed while he is fighting. Go, Rage Pulse!

Brutus: Trap, Evo- Branch. This lets me destroy my Dinosaur monster and summon a monster from my deck in face down defense mode.

Jurassic World is blown away as Terias vanishes, replaced by a set monster which Dragon cruses. Brutus laughs.

Brutus: Sorry boy. But I haven't become rusty. I've been training even after all these years.

Axel: Hmph. Just the way I'd want it! It's no fun if it isn't hard.

Brutus: Well said. However, the monster you destroyed was Evoltile Pleuro. When destroyed, one Evolsaur monster in my hand is instantly summoned. Show your face, Evolsaur Vulcano [ATK 1200/DEF 1000 LV 4]. One monster is summoned from the graveyard. I revive Evolsaur Terias [ATK 2400/DEF 600 LV 6].

Axel: No need to worry. Your deck does not scare me off. After all, I've seen you so many times on the television I know every single move you can make. I set two cards and end my turn.

Brutus: Do you really think I use the exact same moves I used in the past? I've been working hard to make sure they are not my only strategies. Here I go, draw! I use the Spell card Decrease. This decreases the level of one monster by 2. I choose Terias [ATK 2400/DEF 600 LV 4]. Now I Overlay my level 4 Evolsaur Terias and Evolsaur Vulcano.

Both turn into lights and fly into a spiral.

Brutus: With these two monsters I construct the Overlay Network! Exceed Summon, Evolzar Dolkka [ATK 2300/DEF 1700 RANK 4].

Axel: I had a feeling that was your aim. But it doesn't have enough attack points to make a dent in my life!

Brutus: You really believe that? I thought you had seen all of my duels. I suppose not, otherwise you would have anticipated this. Spell card, Blustering Winds. This gives one monster 1000 attack and defense points [ATK 3300/DEF 2700 RANK 4]. Battle! Dolkka attacks your monster. Fast Fire!

It roars and spits fire, blowing up the monster. Axel grunts as he steps back to avoid the fire. [Axel LP = 3700].

Brutus: This is actually getting exciting. It almost reminds me of my days as Pro-Duelist. But of course…those days are over with. This is the only path I have left to take. Turn end [ATK 2300/DEF 1700 RANK 4]

Axel: Alright, draw! I was hoping you'd fall for it, but I guess not. Set card, White Dragon Ritual. I release a level 4 monster in my hand [Dodger Dragon] and summon Paladin of White Dragon [ATK 1900/DEF 1200 LV 4]. Special effect! I…

Brutus: I use the power of Evolzar Dolkka. I remove an Overlay Unit [Unit = 1] to negate and destroy your monster.

Axel: Heh. I had a feeling you were planning something along those lines! I couldn't call myself your #1 fan if I didn't anticipate your moves. Trap card, Call of the Haunted. Now I revive one monster. Come on back, Brute Force Dragon [ATK 3000/DEF 2500 LV 8].

Brutus: I see…you summoned Paladin of White Dragon, making me believe your goal was to summon Blue- Eyes. Instead, you surprise me like this. Nicely done.

Axel: As if there was any doubt! Brute Force Dragon attacks Evolzar Dolkka. Anger Fist.

The monster is punched and blows up. Brutus is almost blown away as he moans and falls backwards in his chair [Brutus LP = 2800].

Axel: Whoa, sorry! Are you okay?!

Brutus: Sure…ask the handicapped duelist if he is okay….that is why I hate you all!

Axel: Eh?! What's wrong with a little compassion in your duels?!

Brutus: I do not want to be a charity case. If you have concern, keep it for yourself! Here I go, my turn! I use the Spell card Card of Burying Magic! Now I remove three Spells in my deck from play and draw 2 cards. Next I use the Spell card Spell Books From the Pot. This lets us each draw 3 cards. Now I summon Evolsaur Pelta [ATK 1100/DEF 2000 LV 4]. And now for another Spell, Exceed Plant. Now I can create a monster using this card, with a level equal to the level of one monster on my field [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 4]. Now I Overlay level 4 Exceed Plant and Evolsaur Pelta.

Both turn into lights and fly into a spiral.

Brutus: With these two monsters, I construct the Overlay Network! Exceed Summon, Evolzar Laggia [ATK 2400/DEF 2000 RANK 4].

Axel: Laggia…damn it! I was hoping he wouldn't get the chance. This isn't good…even with my higher powered monster..

Brutus: Now I use the Spell card Fissure. This destroys Brute Force Dragon.

Axel: What?!

Brutus: I regret we had to fight under these circumstances. But Vergil made me a promise if I followed him. And now, I am prepared to traverse hell itself if my wish will be granted. Laggia, strike him directly! Genetic Fireballs!

Both heads fire at the same time, blasting Axel back. He screams in pain and hits the wall, shattering a TV as he vomits blood, sliding to the ground [Axel LP = 1300].

Brutus: It's over. You are strong, but you are not strong enough. Stop making a fool of yourself.

Axel: How…could you? A lot of people looked up to you Brutus. To most people you were a hero! But look at you now!

Brutus: Do not even try to understand! You are a child, a naïve child who knows nothing of the real world. I can't be a hero to someone in a wheelchair. People look up to those stronger than them, but anyone weaker and they take pity. This world turned its back on me. And once I get my legs back, this world will suffer for its crimes.

Axel: This man…fine, if you really believe that, I'll have to show you how wrong that is! Here I go, draw! You! I see…you want to save Brutus as much as I do. Fine. We'll do this together! I use the Spell card Monster Reborn. Now I can resurrect one monster. Come on back, Brute Force Dragon.

Brutus: Not so fast! I pay 2 Overlay Units on Laggia [Unit = 0]. Now your Special Summon is negated. Sorry young man, but I've been doing this for years. I can read your strategy like a book.

Axel: Is that right? If you could really read my strategies, you should have expected this! When I have no monsters, I can Special Summon Vice Dragon. But if I do, this monster loses half its attack and defense points. Come on out, Vice Dragon [ATK 2000-1000/DEF 2400-1200 LV 5]. Now from my hand, I use the Spell card Back to the Crypt. Now we each select three cards that have been removed from play and return them to the graveyard.

Brutus: Now this I do not understand. You don't have any removed from play cards. So why even bother?

Axel: With this, victory is within my grasp. Get ready Brutus! I'm going to destroy that hatred! I release Vice Dragon. Come to my aid, White- Horned Dragon!

Brutus: White- Horned Dragon!?

He watches as the monster appears, roaring.

Axel: This used to be your partner. Look at it now? Do you even see how angry it is right now, seeing the way you are now? It wants you to go back to the way you used to be.

Brutus: Is that so? Well…too bad. That Brutus has long since vanished. This is who I am now.

Axel: Then I'll crush this Brutus…and bring the old one back! Come on, let's finish this!

Baron: Today we'll be going over Evolzar Dolkka. By removing one Overlay Unit, you can negate a monster effect and destroy that monster. We've used a lot of Exceed monsters lately come to think of it…

Brutus: It is only natural. Not every duelist in the world uses the same strategy. Besides, Exceed monsters are the best.

Axel: You're wrong there! Synchro is the boost!

Rika: I disagree with both of you. Fusion is the way to go.

They start arguing as Baron watches with shock.

Baron: This is more competitive than it should be….

Episode 148: The Greatest Overlay, Vylon Alpha- Omega!

In Cynemia City, people are beginning to evacuate as members of the Crossed Brotherhood charge forward. Tony pants in exhaustion. He steps back as a man draws.

Man: Heh. I use Power Bond. I combine Patriod, Kiteroid, Steamroid, Drillroid, and Tankroid. Come forth, Barbaroid, the Ultimate Battle Machine [ATK 8000/DEF 4000 LV 12]. Your Toons won't hold up to this! Barbaroid, take him out! Ultimate Twin Cannons!

Tony closes his eyes as the attack gets closer to impacting.

???: Trap card, Wall of Thorns. This destroys your monster.

??? 2: Trap card, Master and Servant's Resolve. This deals your destroyed monster's power as damage.

The attack shoots back and destroys Barbaroid. The blast hits the member and sends him flying inside a door [Man LP = 0]. Tony blinks in shock and turns behind him as two people stand.

Marie: Sorry we're late. All this was sudden.

Tier: But you do not mind if we join in, do you?

Opening

Yusuke and the others watch as the duel continues [Chimera and Neo LP = 2400] [Titan LP = 600]. Titan grins as his two monsters tower over the field [ATK 3000/DEF 2000 LV 9] [ATK 3000/DEF 2000 LV 9] while he has one set card. Neo gasps as he has no cards out while Chimera looks in anger with Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak [ATK 2000/DEF 200 LV 4].

Titan: Come on, try a little harder. You can't break down the wall with a stick. At least fight me with a little more burning passion!

Chimera: Leave this to me Neo. I'll take him out this turn.

Sigma: Kid, we can switch out any time you want. I wouldn't normally say that, but we don't appear to be in a good situation right now.

Neo: Yes, we don't. But that's why I need to keep fighting. Yusuke's always battled knowing there was a chance he would lose. If I run away and hide, how does that make me look?

Sigma: Don't say I didn't warn you….but go for it.

Chimera: Here I go, draw! His deck is full of weak cards. Normally, his deck would barely work as a Swarm deck. But unfortunately, he has those Titan cards. Even if his deck does not lean in one direction, those Titans have enough power to counter such reason. In that case…once we crush those Titans the duel is decided! This card can be summoned by releasing only one Koa'ki Meiru monster. I release the Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak I revived using Core Reinforcement and summon Koa'ki Meiru Rooklord [ATK 2800/DEF 2200 LV 7]. Now I remove a Koa'ki Meiru from play and use his power to destroy two cards you control. Using this effect, I destroy both of your Titans!

Tamika: Yes, that's my brother!

Koga: If those Titans fall, he'll win for sure!

Titan: Oh wow, what an unexpected move! Looks like I'll lose for sure now! …Psych! Trap card, Kingdom of Titans. When a monster is foolish enough to oppose my Titans, this card prevents that monster from attacking or using its effect.

Chimera: Damn. He sealed my monster.

Titan: Seriously? You thought that would work? I've been dueling for years brat! You don't think someone's tried that before? Titans are strong, but once they're gone, you're wide open. So I build a wall high enough so no one can jump over it, so wide no one can go around it, and so thick no one can go through it.

Chimera: We'll see about that. My monster can't be destroyed since you negated his effect. So I should be grateful to you. I set a card and end my turn.

Titan: Not too intimidating. Here I go, draw! I summon Flying Kamakiri #1 [ATK 1400/DEF 900 LV 4]. This might be considered overkill, but I need to set an example. Only the best of the best can think about challenging me. Anyone lesser than that might as well not even try. Ice Titan; let's freeze him to the ground. Go, Ice Claw!

Chimera: Trap card…

Titan: Don't bother! Ice Titan negates your Spells and Traps when it attacks, no matter what you use.

Titan slashes through Rooklord as it blows up. Chimera stands his ground and doesn't fly back [Neo and Chimera LP = 2200].

Arnold: No! One more hit and it's all over!

Titan: Time to put this little birdy to bed. Rock Titan; let's put them out of their misery! Smash them, Rock Fist!

Chimera: Trap card, Core Burial. I send one Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru from the deck to the grave and negate an attack.

The fist hits a barrier. Rock Titan almost falls off balance, but stands up straight.

Titan: Tch. There goes my win. Oh well. Deck thinning is still a win! Flying Kamakiri attacks!

Chimera: And once again, I send a Core to the grave and negate.

The attack is blocked.

Titan: Not very smart kid. After all, you need Iron Cores for your monsters. Without them, your monsters might as well be dead weight. So once all 3 are gone, that's my win! I don't even need to attack! Turn end.

Neo: Chimera, are you okay?!

Chimera: It's fine. I'll manage somehow. I left things up to you now Neo. Make sure you take advantage of all the pieces I left you.

Neo: The pieces you….I got it! Alright, here goes! Draw. I use the Spell card Light of Equality. You get to make a choice Titan. Since I don't control a LIGHT monster on my field or hand, you decide between two options to even the odds. You can either choose option A where all your monsters are destroyed, or option B where I draw cards equal to the number of monsters I control.

Rika: It's obvious what he'll pick. Neo can't use Rooklord. So the smart thing to do would be to get rid of his monsters and finish Neo off next turn, since he'll have no monsters.

Baron: No….I get the impression Titan is not that manner of man.

Titan: Fine, fine. Draw all the damn cards you want.

Sigma: That's freaky. Why let you draw all those cards? He had a chance to win since your fields would have been empty.

Titan: You see, to me power is everything. Without power, you are nothing. I will not let things end easily. There's no way I'm giving up my power. Besides, it's not like anything you draw will help!

Dante: Rather snooty isn't he? He must be feeling full of himself right now.

Neo: Is that really the way you think? Power is worthless if power is not used for something useful. I'll show you using my own personal power! I draw 3 cards since you have three more monsters than I do. I then use the Spell card Synchro Avenge. I remove Vylon Epsilon from play and summon the monsters used to summon it. However, they can't be attack, use their effects, or be used for a Synchro Summon. I revive Vylon Prism and Vylon Vanguard [ATK 1500/DEF 1500 LV 4] [ATK 1400/DEF 1000 LV 4].

Alicia: If it isn't a Synchro Summon…then that must be his plan.

Neo: Then I'll summon this monster. Come on out, Vylon Tesseract [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 4]. Now I Overlay level 4 Vylon Tesseract, Vylon Vanguard, and Vylon Prism.

All three monsters turn into lights and fly into a spiral.

Neo: With these three monsters, I'll construct the Overlay Network. Exceed Summon! Come on out, Vylon Disigma [ATK 2500/DEF 2100 RANK 4]. I'll use this monster's amazing power right away. By sending an Overlay Unit to the graveyard, I can select one monster my opponent controls and turn it into an Equip card [Unit = 2]. I'll take Rock Titan.

Titan looks in shock as his monster is sucked inside Disigima's chest.

Chimera: Yes! I knew I could count on you!

Neo: I'm not going to let it end easily! Now then, let's finish him! Vylon Disigma attacks your Flying Kamakiri #1!

Yusuke: Are they…are they really going to win?!

Titan: Oh please….you honestly think that level of power is enough to wipe me out?! Ridiculous! Trap card, Half Unbreak! Now my Flying Kamakiri is not destroyed and any damage is halved.

Disigma fires light pellets as a bubble protects Kamakiri. Light bullets hit Titan and he gasps, stepping back [Titan LP = 50].

Chimera: Alright. It won't be much longer now.

Neo: I was really getting worried there. All we need to do is keep this up for a few more turns and it's in the bag. I set a card and end my turn.

Sigma: I'm glad I didn't fight in this duel. Looks like this wouldn't have been worth my time after all.

Titan: …Well…looks like I won't be able to go easy on you anymore. To touch a god is a sin enough, but to touch a Titan goes beyond abolsution. I'll show you…the anger of the Titans!

Seth: What's with this guy? His aura became a lot more poisonous than it already was. Wait a minute; he used a card during his duel with Yusuke he hasn't used yet. Could he….?

Titan: Here I go, draw! I use the Spell card Pot of Greed. Now I get to draw 2 cards from my deck. Then from my hand, I use the Spell card Graceful Charity! This lets me draw 3 cards and then send two to the graveyard [Tornado Titan, Shadow Titan]. And then for my final card, Hammer Smash! This destroys one monster on the field with the highest attack points!

Tamika: Hold on, his monster has the highest attack points! After all, he's just going to get rid of his Titan?!

Axel: No…I remember seeing something like this once before.

Yusuke: No…it can't be! Neo, Chimera, run away!

Titan: Too late fools. Once you approach the Titans, you risk death. And now I will send your souls to Tartarus for all of eternity! I remove three Titan monsters in the graveyard from play and destroy all other monsters on my field. By doing this, this monster can be Special Summoned from my hand. Appear, the king of all Titans! Titan King- Kronos [ATK 5000/DEF 3000 LV 12].

A set of doors appears as they open, the gargantuan monster stepping out. Chimera begins to shake as Neo steps back while the monster roars into the air.

Sigma: Whoa! Who would have guessed he had something like that!?

Chimera: This…isn't good.

Titan: Well, it's been fun. But now things are coming to end. Kronos, it is time! I send the monster Ice Titan from my deck to the graveyard.

Yusuke: How!? There should only be one of each Titan monster!

Titan: You can thank my new buddy Vergil for that. He used his dark power to create more of each one. Letting me do this. Now since I sent Ice Titan to the grave in this way, Kronos gains its effect. Now when he attacks, all Spells and Traps are negated. Crush Vylon Disigma!

Chimera: Neo!

Neo: T-Trap card! Damage Diet! Now all damage I take this turn is halved.

It draws the scythe, slashing it across the ground. Disigma looks as it is swept away and destroyed. Neo cries out as he is almost blown away, cracks appearing in his skin [Neo and Chimera LP = 950].

Neo: Damn…I'm starting to come apart again.

Powerhand and Beetle fly in the way, blocking the attack and blowing up.

Chimera: Almost done….we just to go a little more.

Titan: I don't understand! I've pushed you into a corner! There's no hope for you! So how…how can you still look so hopeful?!

Chimera: Because I believe in my skills and Neo's skills. And I know for a fact…we'll win! I believe in my friend and in my monsters!

I remove Vylon Disigma and summon the Exceed Material monsters, although they can't attack, use their effects, or be used for an Exceed Summon. Come on back my three monsters. Vylon Vanguard, Vylon Prism, and Vylon Tesseract [ATK 1400/DEF 1000 LV 4] [ATK 1500/DEF 1500 LV 4] [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 4]. Now from my hand I use the Spell card Gene Splicing. This lets me decrease the level of a monster by 2 and change its type. I choose Vylon Vanguard and make it a Tuner [ATK 1400/DEF 1000 LV 2]. I tune level 4 Vylon Prism, level 2 Vylon Vanguard, and level 4 Vylon Tesseract.

Prism and Vanguard becomes 6 rings that Tesseract flies through, becoming 4 stars [2 + 4 + 4 = 10]

Neo: Summon forth, the last and strongest of the robots. Synchro Summon! Burn, Vylon Omega [ATK 3200/DEF 1900 LV 10].

Axel: His best monster! It's in the bag now!

Titan: Is this serious?! Your monster is too weak! Once per turn, Kronos negates a card effect against him. What did I tell you? Hopeless.

Neo: Maybe it is hopeless. But even if is, we'll tear through despair and make hope! Chimera, you ready?!

Chimera: Right! My monster is yours for using.

Neo: Before we came here, I got a new card from Armen. A card I haven't used until now. Looks like the perfect time! Let's go!

Both: We Overlay level 10 Vylon Omega and Koa'ki Meiru Science Lord.

Titan: What?!

Both turn into light and fly into a spiral in the air, releasing a burst of light.

Both: We construct the Overlay Network with these two monsters, Exceed Summon!

Chimera: The avatar of light.

Neo: The ruler of bright. Vylon Alpha- Omega [ATK 4000/DEF 2000 RANK 10].

Alicia: A Rank 10 Exceed monster?!

Titan: B-Big deal! It still isn't enough to take me down!

Chimera: Let's show him teamwork.

Neo: We remove an Overlay Unit [Unit = 1]. Now one monster on the field receives a Clone Token and Vylon Alpha- Omega absorbs it. I create a Clone Token of Kronos and absorb it. That's not all! Alpha- Omega gains the power of the equipped Token [ATK 9000/DEF 5000 RANK 10]

Titan: Nine…nine thousand?!

Both: Put an end to this! Go, End the Beginning!

It absorbs a clone, and then fires a destructive beam of energy that tears through Kronos. It roars in pain as Titan flies back [Titan LP = 0].

All: They did it!

Tamika: Awesome big brother!

Yusuke: Neo…you've gotten stronger than ever. If I didn't fight…I couldn't even be in your presence.

Neo and Chimera high five.

Chimera: We did it.

Neo: Just barely though.

Sigma: Come on kid, have confidence! At this rate, we can take em all down!

Titan: Amazing…what a great duel. I can't have regrets now. But I feel sorry for you. I was just the beginning. Things will get much worse for you once you enter hell. But don't take my word for it.

He grins as he is pulled through a door. Everyone stares at the doors.

Dante: Well, no point turning back now after coming this far. Let's get in there.

He takes out a disk as Armen freaks out.

Armen: That's the new video game! Please, I'll give you anything for that! Prison is so boring!

Episode 147: To The Gates of Pandemonium!

In the sky, the giant set of doors float. Everyone looks in shock as the doors begin pounding from the other side.

Dante: ….Hm? The doors aren't opening all the way.

Alicia: So what does that mean? The doors haven't opened?

Dante: I guess the Inferno isn't complete yet. It is almost complete, but it isn't quite there. There's still time!

Vergil: Hm…stupid obsolete design. It appears I miscalculate. No matter…

Dante: Alright, we'll have to move fast though. If you're really ready to fight…

Vergil: Go my brothers! The time has almost come for all of our wishes to be granted! Go and collect more souls for the Yomishin to feed on, no matter if they are men, women, or children! To your last breath and at any price…

Opening

Everyone keeps standing around as dark clouds keep filling the air.

Arnold: That's all well and good, but do we even know where to go?

Koga: They seem to know where we are, but we have no idea where to look for them.

Dante: I think I still know they are keeping base. We had plans to building a fortress underneath the ground. We called it Pandemonium.

Axel: And you knew about this all along?

Dante: Like I said, I was bidding my time. The prophecy means only you, the ones who hold the Fate Crystals, can beat them.

Tamika: Even if we know where to go, how can we get there in such a short period of time?

Dante: We members of the Brotherhood use darkness to teleport. I might be able to get us there.

Cloaked figures surround them.

Tony: Sup guys! I wanted to surprise you. But when I got here, I was surprised. A party going on and you didn't even invite me.

Seth: Listen Tony, not that we aren't grateful but…

Tony: Say no more, say no more! I don't know what's going on and I don't want to. All I need to know is that whatever's going on involves that huge door in the sky and you guys need to shut it, right? Then go. I'll take care of these krill.

Yusuke: Tony…we owe you for this!

Tony: Say, don't mention it except for when you give me my reward.

Dante: Come on, let's get going!

More figures appear and run after them when Prometheus appears, blasting one back with white energy. The other members of the Olympians surround them and stand between them and Yusuke.

Yusuke: Prometheus? What are you doing?

Prometheus: You've got to go Yusuke. Tony's right. Don't waste time around here. Get going.

Yusuke: But…

Neptune: You need to survive regardless of what happens. Even if we were to fall, as long as you survive, there's hope. We entrust our hope to you now.

Juno: My husband gave his life for the world to have hope. Do not squander this chance! Get going and save the world!

Seth: Yusuke, he's right. We've got to get going right away.

He closes his eyes and holds out his hands, creating a wormhole of darkness. Everyone begins to run through as Baron stops briefly.

Baron: Was that the whole truth you told there?

Dante: …It was enough of the truth. Let's put it that way.

Baron: If you insist.

They run through as the portal closes.

Tony: Now then…where were we?

In an open field, the portal opens and everyone rushes out. They look around.

Axel: Your castle is here? Seems kind of…empty.

Dante: It's underground. We designed it that way to be further away from the Sun. If I'm right, the entrance should be over there.

???: Well, well, look who came crawling back!

Everyone turns as someone stands on top of a rock with a door built in. He grins and jumps down in front of it. He stands up, showing his face.

Titan: Yo Yusuke. It's nice to see you again.

Yusuke: T-Titan! But that's impossible…you're supposed to be in jail!

Titan: Oh yes. A world where three monsters live in the Underworld, and a guy getting out of jail is so impossible a thought.

Yusuke: So…you've joined up with them? You are fighting for the Crossed Brotherhood also?!

Titan: Come on, give me a break. No, I don't really support them. This whole Underworld thing and turning the Sun black? Totally nuts. There's no way I can get behind something like that. But hey, they busted me out of the slammer and gave me a chance for revenge, and you know what they say. "Never look a gift horse in the mouth." Doesn't matter if they call me Ox or anything else. As long as I get revenge, I don't care.

Axel: From the sound of it, he isn't going to let us pass.

Titan: So Yusuke, how about it? You ready to go at it? After all…my Titan cards are tingling with excitement.

Yusuke: The…Titan cards? Against such powerful monsters…

He begins to shake. Neo looks with worry as Titan laughs.

Titan: Look at you! You're about to piss yourself like a little tiny baby! Man, what did Faust do to you? He really must have shaken you up. Don't tell me you're scared?

Yusuke: I….I…

Neo: That blowhard just won't shut up, will he?

Chimera: No, he does seem to love the sound of his own voice.

Titan: Oh, what's this? You think you can stand up to me brats?

Yusuke: Guys, what are you…?

Tamika: Brother hold on a second!

Neo: Stand back Yusuke. We'll deal with this guy.

Chimera: You showed us hope in all of your duels. Now it's time for us to show you hope. Tamika, just sit back and watch. I'll give you hope and strength as well.

Dante: You heard him. Shut up and watch everyone.

Titan: What? I have to fight you weak little peons? Well…fine. I'm a little rusty anyway. I could do with a nice and easy warm-up!

All 3 draw their cards and activate their Duel Disks/

All 3: Duel! [Titan LP = 4000] [Chimera and Neo LP = 4000].

Titan: Here's how things will go down. You two will alternate your turns with my own. You go, then I go, then Chimera goes, then I go. You two can use your partner's cards, whatever man, but you each have your own field, and if one of you gets taken down, you both will.

Chimera: Seems a little unfair. After all, you get twice as many turns as we do. But that's fine. We'll win anyway.

Sigma: Alright kid, we'll switch out when you're ready.

Neo: No, I need to fight this battle on my own. If I run and hide, it'll make me look bad.

Sigma: Yeah, but don't forget that if you lose I'll look bad too.

Neo: No need to worry! Here I go, draw! I use the Spell card Photon Lead. Now from my hand, I can Special Summon a level 4 or below LIGHT monster. I'll summon my Vylon Prism [ATK 1500/DEF 1500 LV 4]. That wasn't a Normal Summon, so I can summon one more card. I Normal Summon my Vylon Vanguard [ATK 1400/DEF 1000 LV 4].

Alicia: Two level 4 monsters. He must be planning an Exceed Summon.

Neo: Here I go! I tune my level 4 Vylon Prism and level 4 Vylon Vanguard.

Tamika: Tuning?

Prism becomes 4 rings that Vanguard flies through, becoming 4 stars [4 + 4 = 8]

Neo: Summon, the fourth strongest among the divine robots. Synchro Summon! Shine, Vylon Epsilon [ATK 2800/DEF 1200 LV 8]

Yusuke: Neo…when did you switch back to Synchro monsters?

Neo: Like I said. I'll show you hope. I'll do it with the same deck I used when you showed me. I set two cards and end my turn.

Titan: Ha! Such a pitiful little resistance can't hold against me! My turn, draw! I summon Blockman in defense mode [ATK 1000/DEF 1500 LV 4]. Then I place 3 cards face down and end my turn.

Chimera: Three set cards? He must have a Trap set, or possibly more. Here I go, draw! I summon Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak [ATK 2000/DEF 200 LV 4]. I attack Blockman. Go, Core Sword!

Titan: Heh. Trap card, Rock Wall! This prevents an EARTH monster from being destroyed this turn. Sorry, but I render your attack ineffective.

The monster hits the rock wall, flying back as a result.

Chimera: I did the best I could. I set 2 cards. At my End Phase, I show off this Warrior, Koa'ki Meiru War Arms, and prevent Bergzak from being destroyed.

Titan: Nice. You missed the opportunity to deal damage, but you were able to summon several tough monsters. Of course, against my Titans…such things are meaningless! Here I go, draw! Set card, Turn Jump. Now time accelerates and three turns pass without us doing anything. Now I use the power of Blockman. Since he has been out for 4 turns, I can release him and summon four Tokens [ATK 1000/DEF 1500 LV 4 x 4].

Yusuke: No…now he has three EARTH monsters on the field!

Titan: I release three of my EARTH monsters in order to summon my monster. I summon Rock Titan [ATK 3000/DEF 2000 LV 9].

Titan begins to laugh hysterically as the monster rises, roaring in anger.

Seth: Those cards again...

Axel: Damn! He's had them all this time!?

Titan: I am going to ENJOY this! Rock Titan; let's mash their monsters into pulp!

Chimera: I don't think so! Trap card, Automatic Laser! I show my Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru in my hand to destroy your summoned monster.

Titan: Useless! Trap card, Trap Stun! Now all Trap effects this turn are negated. Complete your attack and crush that Bergzak!

Chimera: Oh no! If this attack hits…!

Neo: Quick- Play Spell, Forbidden Chalice! This raises the power of a monster by 400 while negating its power [ATK 2400/DEF 200 LV 4].

Titan smashes the monster, making it blow up. Neo and Chimera fly back [Neo and Chimera LP = 3400].

Tamika: That was a serious shockwave! Brother, are you okay?!

Chimera: Don't worry…I'm fine. Neo, why did you…?

Neo: Isn't it obvious? In this duel, we're partners. And a partner must help out no matter what.

Chimera: …Heh. That's a rather innocent though, but an honest one. Come on, let's crush him!

Titan: Crush me? Did I hear you right? Ha! I'd like to see you try! I set a card and end my turn.

Neo: Here I go, draw! We already took a hit. Can't risk it happening again. Here I go, I summon Vylon Soldier [ATK 1700/DEF 1000 LV 4]. Trap card, Crevice of Light. When a monster was destroyed last turn, I revive it. Come on back, Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak [ATK 2000/DEF 200 LV 4]. I Overlay my level 4 Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak and Vylon Soldier.

Both become lights and fly into a spiral.

Neo: With these two monsters, I construct the Overlay Network. Exceed Summon! Come on out, Wind- Up Zenmaister [ATK 1900/DEF 1500 RANK 4]. He gains 300 points for each Overlaid card [ATK 2500/DEF 1500 RANK 4]. Now I remove one Overlay Unit [Unit = 1] [ATK 2200/DEF 1500 RANK 4]. Now your Titan monster goes into defense mode and won't switch back until next turn.

Titan: That will not happen on my watch! Set card, Field Shift. I return the monster on my field to my hand and summon one of a lower level. However, that monster swaps back with the one in my hand at the turn's end. I return Rock Titan and summon Cloudian- Sheep Cloud [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1].

Neo: Missed my chance. I equip Epsilon with Vylon Material, raising his power by 600 [ATK 3400/DEF 1200 LV 8]. Zenmaister, attack Cloudian! Stretch Punch!

It extends the fist and punches it.

Titan: When destroyed, I summon two Tokens [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1 x 2]. I won't take any damage you…

Chimera: I discard Koa'ki Meiru Buster and Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru. This changes your monster to attack mode. I select one of those Tokens [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1].

Titan: Eh?!

Neo: Thanks! Destroy the Token Vylon Epsilon! Light Power Laser!

It fires at the Token, blowing it up. Titan screams as he is flung back [Titan LP = 600]. Neo and Chimera grin at each other as Titan stands up laughing.

Titan: Not bad! This is actually getting good now! I might finally acknowledge this as worth my time!

Neo: We're going right through you! Our goal isn't to entertain you!

Titan: Well, well, this little fight is getting adorable now! But I can't afford to lose, so I'd better get serious and fast. Here I go, draw! Rock Titan is summoned from my hand [ATK 3000/DEF 2000 LV 9]. Next I summon Deep Sea Diva [ATK 200/DEF 400 LV 2]. Using her power, I can summon this monster from my deck. Come on, Spined Gillman [ATK 1300-1700/DEF 0 LV 3], who gives all my WATER monsters a boost [ATK 600/DEF 400 LV 2]

Yusuke: Oh no! Three WATER monsters! Don't tell his aim is to…

Titan: Here I come! I release three WATER monsters. Freeze the world cold, Ice Titan!

Ice grows out of the ground as the monster emerges, roaring as well [ATK 3000/DEF 2000 LV 9].

Neo: Two Titans….oh boy…

Sigma: Don't forget kid, we've got set cards! He can't hurt us now!

Titan: Battle! Ice Titan attacks Vylon Epsilon. When he attacks, all Spells and Traps are negated, including your Equip Spell [ATK 2800/DEF 1200 LV 8].

Titan slashes the monster as it is torn into pieces. Neo and Chimera cry as they slide back [Neo and Chimera LP = 3200]

Titan: And now I attack Wind- Up Zenmaister! Rock Titan, turn it into paste!

It smashes the monster with its fist, crushing it. Neo cries out as he flies back and hits the wall [Neo and Chimera LP = 2400].

Yusuke: No! Please stop you guys! Don't fight just for me! Don't…don't die hopelessly for me!

Titan: I'll say. This is boring. If you can't fight, don't even bother. Give up and I'll go easy.

Neo: Maybe we should. Maybe…

Chimera: Trap card, Core Reinforcement. This lets me revive Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak [ATK 2000/DEF 200 LV 4]. Neo, stand up. We can't afford to lose. Fight, no matter what.

Neo: …You're right. If we look bad, so does everyone else. Come on then…let's crush this guy and stop Vergil!

Titan grins and closes one of his eyes as both Titans still tower over the field

Episode 146: I'll Seek the True Me

Dante: I...used to be a founding member of the Crossed Brotherhood.

Everyone gasps as Alicia holds her hand over her mouth. Dante looks around and rubs the back of his head.

Dante: Well…that didn't quite as peachy as I expected. I understand it must be shocking but…

Axel punches him in the face as he falls back.

Axel: You liar! All this time you've been on their side haven't you?! Were you ever loyal to us?!

Tamika: Axel, give it a rest! Axel!

Axel: Stuff it! You feel the same way right?! He betrayed us all.

Yusuke: Axel, let's at least give him a chance to defend himself…

Dante: No, he's right. I'm not loyal to you guys. Really, I just hoped to ask for your help in taking them down.

Seth: If you knew about them all this time, why did you do nothing about them?

Opening

In the dark room, the rest of the Zodiac is seated. A new member stays silent.

Ox: Yo, new Rooster? What's with the sad face? Turn that frown upside-down.

Brutus: Why did you pull that one soul out Vergil? If you don't mind me saying, I find it insulting to those who gave their lives at Olympus Castle.

Vergil: There is no need to feel that way. You see, the final plan is already in motion. I only require a new Rooster to delay us time. I called you all here to tell you the final battle will be starting.

Charlotte: Does this mean our grand objective is almost completed?

Vergil: 90%. All we need are the final souls and the Inferno will be complete.

Rasputin: Then there is no need for us to fear.

Faust: You forgot something. The ones who hold the Fate Crystals will be coming after us.

Rasputin: Hmph. I knew Faust did a bad job with you. If I were him, I would have dipped your entire soul in darkness. Looks like I'll need to do the job properly.

He holds his staff to his chest and if fuses to a plate, folding out into a Duel Disk as he draws with his other hand.

Dex: Looks like I don't really have a choice in the matter. I'll take you down so the others do not have too!

He activates his.

Both: Duel! [Dex LP = 4000] [Rasputin LP = 4000]

In a polluted city, a young child sits with garbage and looks with sad eyes at the people driving by.

Dante: I grew up in a world of dirt and smog. I did not even know my parents and I don't know them now. Back then though, I had important things to duel with. Getting food every day, trying to stay clean, hell, even just finding a place to sleep was tough. But I was smart. I taught myself how to read and write and I started school.

A still young Dante is punched to the ground. He tries to stand as some thugs pick him up.

Kid: What's this, that all you got? Listen up street dirt, you don't belong in society. People like you are born trash, live like trash, and die trash. You don't belong in the world of humans.

He kicks Dante again and walks off laughing with his friends. The young Dante coughs and stands up, shaking and glaring.

Dante: I hated the entire world. I cursed my nameless parents for abandoning me to live in poverty and mud. I cursed my classmates for looking at me for what I was, not who. I cursed the world for being a place where people like me couldn't live. And I even cursed the Sun for shining regardless of the pain and misery. One day, I contracted a rare illness and had to be hospitalized for a brief time. There I cursed the world even more for my bad faith. But that changed…when I met Vergil.

Rasputin: Here I go, draw! I set two cards face down. Next I set a monster and end my turn.

Dex: Here I go, draw! He's a high ranking member of the Brotherhood. If I can take him down, I'll have dealt a huge blow to them. I summon Machina Sniper [ATK 1800/DEF 800 LV 4]. Shoot his face down monster!

Rasputin: Trap card, Barrier Hold. When a set monster is attacked, I can negate its destruction.

The bullets hit the monster and fly back. The set monster flips up in shadows as Sniper's eyes glow.

Dex: What?!

Rasputin: My set monster is Aussa the Earth Charmer. [ATK 500/DEF 1500 LV 3]. When flipped up, she lets me gain control of an EARTH monster. Dex, your monster is EARTH.

Dex: Damn. You knew I used EARTH monsters, so you set a Trap for me. I'm going to run away though! I also set two cards and end my turn. Sakuretsu Armor and Battle Mania. Just try and attack. I'll be ready.

Rasputin: My turn, draw! Continuous Trap, Xing Zhen Hu. As long as this is on the field, two of your set cards are sealed. I choose those two.

Dex: No!

Rasputin: Now I release Aussa and Machina Sniper for Dark Magician [ATK 2500/DEF 2100 LB 7]. You have no monsters on the field or any Spells and Traps. So this is most likely going to hurt boy. Dark Magician, direct attack! Dark Magic!

It spins the staff, firing a ball of magic at Dex. It hits him and he screams in pain, being sent flying back [Dex LP = 1500]. He struggles to stand.

Rasputin: That is the power of true darkness boy. The power you claim you do not desire. Yet you came all this way to obtain it.

Dex: That was before I realized how insane this was! Do you have any idea what Vergil is even after?!

Rasputin: Mind you tongue boy. The father is the only one we can trust in this world. I would follow him to the edge and behind. As long as I can support him, I do not care what he plans to do. I set a card and end my turn.

Dex: You can just mindlessly support him like that? I'll show you that blind faith isn't enough! I draw! I summon my Machina Buster [ATK 2500/DEF 100 LV 4]. Battle! Attack Dark Magician!

Rasputin: Ho? Their attack points are the same. The most you can hope for is a draw.

Dex: Rocket Rain.

It fires rockets at Dark Magician. It blasts magic trying to destroy the rockets and takes most of them out, but one speeds by and hits Magician as it blows up, a stray magic blast blowing up Buster as well. Rasputin glances at his set card, but doesn't react.

Dex: Alright, at least we're even now. I set a card and end my turn.

Rasputin: You truly are a fool boy. Believing that simply because neither of us have monsters it is a draw. Here I go, draw!

Dex: I just noticed…he doesn't use his right arm when he duels. Come to think of it, I've never seen him use his right arm.

Rasputin: I summon Neo the Magic Swordsman [ATK 1700/DEF 1000 LV 4]. I don't need to go all out to end this boy. If I had to, it would be an insult to the Brotherhood. Neo, finish him off and send him into darkness! Magical Cut!

Dex: Don't think so! Trap, Call of the Haunted! Now one monster is revived from my graveyard. I bring back Machina Sniper, which is stronger than Neo the Magic Swordsman [ATK 1800/DEF 800 LV 4].

Rasputin: You really believe I would not have a card set up just for this possibility? I use the Quick- Play Rush Recklessly. This powers up my monster by 700 [ATK 2400/DEF 1000 LV 4].

Neo draws its sword and cuts through Machina Sniper, blowing it up. Dex gasps and is shot back by the pure force of the attack [Dex LP = 800].

Dex: No way…how did he get me? Did he really think I would do that?

Rasputin: I'm a genius you see. I examine all possibilities before I make a move. Your moves are so obvious a seven year old would see through them. If you plan on beating us with this pitiful resistance, then you have no hope.

Dex: No…I won't give in! I believe my cards will beat you!

Dante keeps telling his story as he looks down in sorrow.

Dante: We were drawn to each other instantly. We were both brilliant, far more brilliant than the world warranted. I remember like it was yesterday. We used to sneak out of our rooms every night and talk for hours on end. In him, I finally found what I sought, a comrade.

Dante interrupts his story and begins to hack, gasping for air. Everyone quickly gets up as Dante holds a hand up, stuffing a donut into his mouth and swallows it, hyperventilating.

Yusuke: Are you you're okay?

Dante: No. I haven't been okay in years. It's the illness I was telling you about.

Alicia: Didn't you get a treatment at the hospital?

Dante: Yes…and no. You see, my illness is unique. As of late, there is currently no cure for what I have. I've been forced to live with this ailment by entire life. Donuts have always helped to keep it down, but the doctors said I only have a limited amount of time. 30 years, 30 days, hell, I might die in the next 30 seconds. My body will just quit on me one day.

Axel: Cry us a river. Finish your damn story.

Tamika: I hate to agree with him, but that is more important.

Dante: Right, right. Basically…we talked about a lot of things, but one kept coming up.

Vergil: Dante…this world is rotten to the core. The people are rotten. The weather is rotten. Luck is rotten. The world is even lighted by a rotting sun. Dante…let's change things. We can do it. We can make a better world where everyone can live together in harmony.

Dante: …I don't know. I mean, can we really change the whole world?

Vergil: Of course we can! As long as we work together, we can do anything!

The younger Dante smiles and shakes hands with Vergil.

Dante: And that was that. Together, we began to gather followers to help us with our goal. We mainly looked for outcasts like us, people who had been rejected by the world. After a while, we gathered a fair number of people. We were brothers allied together, crossed like a pair of swords in our grand quest. And so we became…the Crossed Brotherhood.

Rasputin: Last chance boy. I do not wish to hurt a fellow comrade. Just give up and I will overlook this incidence and not report it to the father.

Dex: I can't…give up. Not when my precious friends are counting on me! Here I go, draw! I use Pot of Greed. This lets me draw two. I was hoping to save him until I had more cards, but I have no choice! I discard three Machina monsters in order to Special Summon Machina Cannon, who gains 800 attack points for each discarded Machina monster. I count 3 for 2400 attack points [ATK 2400/DEF 2200 LV 8]. Attack Neo the Magic Swordsman! Machina Laser!

It fires, blowing up the monster. Rasputin barely responds [Rasputin LP = 3300].

Rasputin: I guess that qualifies as a cut. But if you wish to wound me, you'll have to dig the knife in deeper. Trap card, Black Renewing. When a monster is destroyed, I can revive it as a DARK monster. Return to me in one piece, Neo the Magic Swordsman [ATK 1700/DEF 1000 LV 4].

Dex: I don't care what monsters you bring back! I won't run or hide anymore. I'll fight with my power and win. Even if this darkness is mine I won't let it win! I'll free my dad and everyone else you've stolen!

Rasputin: Your father…? Of course, the man on the boat.

Dex: The boat…wait! Are you…?

Rasputin: Very well, you've made it clear you are my enemy now. I'd better finish up neatly then. Here I go, draw! Trap card, Birthright. This lets me revive one Normal monster. I bring back Dark Magician [ATK 2500/DEF 2100 LV 7]. Next I summon Familiar- Possessed Dharc [ATK 1850/DEF 1500 LV 4]

Dex: Three DARK monsters…no…don't tell me!

Rasputin: You are about to witness a legend. Rejoice. I release three DARK monsters. From my hand I Special Summon this! Show yourself, the final Yomishin!

Darkness spreads all around as something appears, hissing. Dex looks on in horror and steps back.

Dex: No way…there's a third one?!

Rasputin: This is the last time we'll speak boy. Farewell. Finish him! Slash of the End!

The monster sends a claw forward, grabbing Cannon and smashes it, sending a wave of darkness blasting Dex back. He cries out as the darkness engulfs him [Dex LP = 0]

Dex: I'm sorry…everyone…this is as far as I go…

Dante: One of the many things we looked into was the Cards of Darkness. You see, Cards of Darkness are cards that have been infected with the darkness of human emotions, twisting and corrupting them. As such, they were banished to the Underworld, the realm of the dead, to keep their power hidden away. Vergil experimented in many ways to revive them and was…mostly unsuccessful.

Seth: Mostly?

Dante: He did discover one way. Vergil learned that all human hearts have darkness, just as they have light. And he felt that if you could gather the souls of countless humans, the darkness in those souls will create a road to the Underworld. He called it…the Inferno.

Chimera: You're telling us he did all this to build a bridge?

Dante: In a manner of speaking. He's using darkness, pure darkness that can only be found in a person's heart, to build a portal to the Underworld from which the Yomishin can escape from. And when that happens, the world will be shrouded in eternal darkness.

Neo: But what's the point? How is that going to make the world better?

Dante: Even I don't know that. Vergil's always been a little ambitious, but this goes beyond that. He always used to tell me how much he hated the Sun, because he felt it was a lie. He hated light because it never made things better…so why even exist? He seeks to block out the sky as well. Once he opens the doors to the Underworld.

Yusuke: Well…what are we doing standing around here then? Come on! Let's go!

Arnold: Go? Go where?

Yusuke: Isn't it obvious? We're going to stop Vergil!

Dante: Hey…that's the spirit. I knew I could count on you. You see, the reason why I sought you guys was because I heard the ancient prophecy. Only three heroes chosen by the Fates themselves can defeat the Yomishin.

Yusuke: The three heroes? Hold on, there's me, and then there's Axel…but who's the third?

Dante: That I don't know.

He glances at Seth, who looks surprised.

Dante: All I know is we better move quickly or else….no!

Koga: What?!

Darkness spreads from Dante. He cries out as everyone stands up, only to almost fall when the ground shakes. In a dark room, Vergil begins to laugh and stands up.

Vergil: Yes! The gates of the Underworld are beginning to open! Open and be free Yomishin! Consume this world and the Sun in an endless abyss!

The remaining members of the Regal Olympians run out as Yusuke and the others rush out to see dark storm clouds covering the sky. A large set of doors appear that people all over the world gasp at when they see it.

Dante: No…we're too late. The gates have begun to open. The Yomishin…will soon be revived.

Episode 145: When the Clouds Part

In a dark world, Seth opens his eyes. He stands up and walks around, looking at the dark colored water.

Seth: What is this place?

???: I believe you know.

The first Fate appears. Seth turns to her in surprise and looks around.

Seth: I think you're wrong there. This place doesn't look familiar to me.

Fate 1: That is because this world is dark and cold. This used to be the world of your soul Seth. It used to be full of rainbows and light. But now the light is lost.

Seth: This world…used to be full of light? How do I restore light to this world?! This can't really be my soul.

Fate 1: Only by facing what you have lost head on will you be able to restore light. Understand the wounds that fill your heart. Restoring them is the key. But first you must obtain a new power.

She begins to vanish. Seth's eyes widen and he holds out his hand.

Seth: Wait, please don't go!

Seth wakes with a start as he is in a bedroom. He looks outside at the storm clouds as he has no expression.

Opening

In the stadium, Yusuke rides away dueling someone else.

Yusuke: And now D.D Samurai Neo attacks directly.

It speeds forward, slashing with both blades and knocking them off. [Man LP = 0].

Announcer: And another sizzling win from Yusuke! Looks like our new king won't lose easily!

Yusuke stops and looks around the stadium.

Yusuke: They're cheering now…but if they knew how weak I really was, they wouldn't be cheering for me.

Seth is on the top set of seats watching. Koga and Arnold walk behind him.

Seth: I used to be done there. Fighting as a king. But now I'm nothing.

Arnold: Seth…look, we know you are upset about Salia. But you need to get over it. She wouldn't want you to be sad.

Koga: Yeah! Besides, all we've gotta do is go to their home base and save her! Dante says he knows a way to their base. All we need is go there and we can win!

Seth: Not with me. Against Neo, to save my friend Nick, and even Salia. Every time I needed to win, I've failed. If I go I'll just mess things up.

He looks down and walks off. Koga holds out his hand as Milo sighs and shakes his head. Leon is also nearby and opens one eye, standing up and follows Seth outside.

Leon: So that's it? You're done already?

Seth: What choice do I have? I'm doing this for everyone's benefit. They won't have to worry about me.

Leon: Oh, I get it. You're trying the noble approach. Man, is that lame.

Seth: What did you say?!

Leon: You used to be confident of your own skills. Now that you aren't king anymore, you don't see a reason to fight. You're just like Yusuke now.

Seth: Don't try to understand. You didn't lose your friend.

Leon: Oh don't I? I lost a lot of friends when Olympus Castle fell. You think you're special because it was your friend? Or…now that you aren't king, do you even feel strong?

Seth: What? What…did you just say to me?!

Leon: I'm right aren't I? You always used to claim being king meant nothing to me. But now that you've lost your title in the tie with Yusuke, you haven't been the same. Well?

Seth: No! You're wrong! I…no. I've been feeling the same way myself. I keep telling myself I'm as though as ever but…I lost to Neo. I couldn't face Armen. I couldn't save my friend Nick…or Salia. How?! How can I fight if I can't protect my precious things?! Maybe that lady was right. My heart will always be clouded…

Leon: Lady? Can it be?! Could it be my original hypothesis was correct…and he is the 3rd hero of the prophecy? As of late I've doubting it, but if it is true…Hey Seth, duel me.

Seth: Why? So you can keep showing how weak I am?

Leon: Hey, you said it yourself right? You want to find out if your power is genuine or if it was just the king label. Why don't we use this duel as a way of finding out? And if you really impress me, I might just teach you Accel Synchro.

Seth: Accel Synchro? …Fine Leon. But I'm going to go all out!

Leon: Just what I'm hoping for.

In an apartment, Axel looks around. Everyone is seated as Dante bites into a donut. Axel glances at empty boxes all over.

Axel: Say…how many donuts do you eat anyway?

Dante: Daily? 37 is the highest I can count to.

Tamika: That diet will kill you.

Dante: Hasn't yet.

Alicia: Are we supposed to be talking?

Neo: Doesn't look like Seth is here yet.

Sigma: If he doesn't get here soon, I'm eating all the free food.

Dante: He'd better get here soon. I've got something important to say.

Yusuke: Seth…what's going on with you?

Seth and Leon are lined up next to each other.

Leon: You sure you want to do this?

Seth: I have to do this. It's the only way I can be at ease. Even if I win, and even if I lose. Neo Speed World, set on!

D- Wheels: Duel mode, auto-pilot standby.

Both: Duel! [Seth LP = 4000] [Leon LP = 4000]

They both take off from the starting line. Neptune and Prometheus walk by and see this duel going on.

Prometheus: Why's Leon dueling Seth?

Neptune: Come on. We need to go to meet Yusuke and the others.

Prometheus: Later. This actually interests me.

Leon: Go on former king. I'll give you the undying honor of going first.

Seth: Hope you don't end up regretting that. Here I go, draw! I set a monster in defense mode. I also set two cards and end my turn. I've seen Leon fight several times before. His deck is built around being able to Synchro Summon in a heartbeat. I've got to take him down before he Accel Synchro Summons. Or worse, he summons dis Delta Accel Synchro monster.

Leon: What's wrong? Scared about my deck? Don't worry! I won't use Accel Synchro in this battle.

Seth: Huh? Why?

Leon: Ain't it obvious? This duel won't last long enough for me to be able to get the chance! Here I go, draw! [SPC: Leon = 1 Seth = 1]. I summon the Tuner monster Junk Synchron [ATK 1300/DEF 500 LV 3]. When I control a Junk monster, I can summon this card from my hand. Come on, Junk Servant [ATK 1500/DEF 1000 LV 4]. During the turn I have already summoned, I can Special Summon this card from my hand. Come on, Missile Synchron [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1]. I tune my level 1 Missile Synchron and level 4 Junk Servant.

Synchron becomes 1 ring that Servant flies through, becoming 4 stars [1 + 4 = 5].

Leon: Launch away Catapult Warrior [ATK 1000/DEF 1500 LV 5]. Battle! Junk Synchron attacks the set monster.

It flies forward and crushes the set monster.

Seth: When Color Warrior- Lucky Emerald is destroyed, I draw cards.

Leon: Crush him Catapult Warrior!

Seth: Trap card, Blank Canvas! This lets me black an attack.

The monster hits the attack and flies back.

Leon: You may have dodged me that time. I use Warrior's power! I release Junk Synchron and deal his power as damage.

Synchron is shot forward and hits Seth. He gasps as he is blasted forward [Seth LP = 2700].

Leon: I end my turn. Come on, you can do better than this! So far I'm really disappointed.

Seth: Don't…don't you mock me! I'll show you what I'm made of! I draw [SPC: Seth = 2 Leon = 2]. There's his set card. If I attack carelessly, he'll spring a Trap on me for sure. Right now I should play defense. I can hold back whatever he plays anyway. I set a card. I set a monster and end my turn. Color Warrior- Solid Brown has enough defense points to hold back his attack. As long as he doesn't summon anything stronger than Catapult Warrior, I should be in a good situation.

Leon: No point in trying to defend yourself. I'll take you down no problem. If you aren't going to fight me, then you might as well just give up and go home. Here I go, draw [SPC: Seth = 3 Leon = 3]. I use Speed Spell- Rushing Chance. I choose a Speed Spell from my deck. I don't have to pay Speed Counters to use it, but I can't gain Speed Counters for the same number of turns as Speed Counters I should pay. I'll use Speed Spell- Accel Draw and draw 2.

Seth: But then you won't gain Speed Counters for 10 turns.

Leon: Not that I'm going to need them. This duel will be over in 1/10 of that timeframe! I summon Mad Archfiend [ATK 1800/DEF 0 LV 4]. Since I Normal Summoned a monster this turn, I can Special Summon my Turbo Booster [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1]. And that's not all! Since I summoned a monster this turn, I can Special summon Missile Synchron [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1].

Seth: Another one? Don't tell me…his plan is to Synchro Summon!?

Leon: I tune level 1 Missile Synchron and level 5 Catapult Warrior.

Synchron becomes 1 ring that Warrior flies through, becoming 5 stars [1 + 5 = 6]

Leon: Synchro Summon! Missile Warrior, take to the sky [ATK 2500/DEF 2000 LV 6].

Seth: Not good…he has a lot of monsters on his field.

Leon: Let's battle! Missile Warrior, smash the set monster. Rocket Fist.

Seth: Sorry, but my set monster is Color Warrior- Solid Brown [ATK 100/DEF 2500 LV 3].

Leon: Not too bad. But when Missile Warrior attacks a monster, he can destroy the opposing monster and negate his own destruction.

Seth: Trap card, Permanent Marker. This negates the destruction of a Color Warrior monster.

Warrior hits it and creates a massive explosion as Brown survives.

Leon: Not bad. Mad Archfiend, get him! Bone Splash!

Seth: What?! But his defense points are higher!

The bones hit Brown as it smacks them back. Leon hisses [Leon LP = 3300] but grins.

Leon: I release Turbo Booster at this time. Now your Color Warrior is destroyed since I failed to beat it.

It fires and the monster blows up as Seth looks on.

Seth: Not…yet! Trap card, End of the Rainbow. I send three cards from my deck to my grave and revive the destroyed monster [ATK 100/DEF 2500 LV 3].

Leon: Like a bug. I can't squish it no matter how hard I try. I set a card. Turn end. Come on Seth, is this the best you can do?! If you won't go all out, you'll be crushed in a heartbeat!

Seth: Me…lose? No…I won't! Here I go, draw! [SPC: Seth = 4 Leon = 3]. I release Solid Brown to summon Color Warrior- Majestic Magenta [ATK 2200/DEF 1100 LV 5]. Attack Mad Archfiend!

It lashes its whip and smashes Archfiend. Leon doesn't respond [Leon LP = 2900]

Seth: And now her effect, which deals 600 points of damage to you.

Magenta hits him again as he slows to an almost stop [Leon LP = 2300]

Leon: That's the spirit! Keep it up. Don't disappoint me here. After all, I'm the former 9. I need a real fight to be satisfied.

Seth: Sorry to disappoint. But I'm not here to entertain you. I'm here…to fight for my future! Turn end!

Leon: Your future…huh. In that case, it looks pretty damn bleak! Here I go, draw! [SPC: Seth = 5 Leon = 3]. I summon the Tuner monster Plaguespreader Zombie [ATK 400/DEF 200 LV 2]. Level 2 Plaguespreader Zombie tunes to level 6 Missile Warrior.

Zombie becomes 2 rings that Warrior flies through, becoming 6 stars [2 + 6 = 8]

Leon: Synchro Summon! Berserker Crusher [ATK 2900/DEF 800 LV 8]. You wanted to see me go all out Seth? Well here you go! Smash his Magenta.

Seth: Trap card, Pigment Storm! Now…

Leon: Counter- Trap, Seven Tools of the Bandit. I pay 1000 life points and negate your Trap [Leon LP = 1300].

Crusher smashes through Magenta and it blows up. Seth cries out as the shockwaves hit him [Seth LP = 2000].

Seth: Impossible…he saw through my Trap?

Leon: Come on, I'm not stupid! I'm not going to just attack recklessly! How do you think I got this ranking? I wasn't just standing around twiddling my thumbs. I was getting stronger too. At this point, I'm ready for Yusuke!

Seth: Yusuke you say? Well don't forget…I'm your opponent!

Leon: True, true. Time you started acting like it though. Turn end!

Seth: Here I go, draw! [SPC: Seth = 6 Leon = 3]. Yes, with this I'll win. He didn't see through my real aim. I set a monster. Next I place 2 cards face down and end my turn.

Leon: …I draw [SPC: Seth = 7 Leon = 3]. I set a card. I also set a monster. Battle. Crusher, wipe out his set monster.

It looks down and punches the monster.

Seth: Got you! Trap card, Guidance to the Northern Lights. Trap card, Black Rainbow! Guidance lets me summon Aurora Borealis Dragon by releasing all monsters, but Black Rainbow allows me to remove monsters instead. I remove all 7 Color Warriors in my graveyard. This lets me summon Aurora Borealis Dragon [ATK 4900/DEF 0 LV 9].

Leon: Well, well, well. Look what it is. Come on; show me what the glittery dragon can do.

Seth: Here I go, draw! [SPC: Seth = 8 Leon = 3]. That's right…I've never cared what people cared. I've always used my card for victory. Aurora…guide me to victory! I pay 6 Speed Counters [SPC: Seth = 2 Leon = 3] and give him 600 attack points [ATK 5500/DEF 0 LV 9]. Bring an end to this battle! Radiant Aurora Blast!

Leon: Trap card, Synchro Barrier. I release Berserker and negate all damage I take for two turns.

Seth: Maybe so, but your set monster is still my target!

The attack speeds by and burns the set monster.

Leon: Not bad! But my Sonic Chick can negate destruction by a monster with 1900 or more attack points.

Seth: No problem. Now that I have this monster, victory is within reach! Leon, I'm going to defeat you and master Accel Synchro! Turn end [ATK 4900/DEF 0 LV 9]. Go on, use Accel Synchro. I'll overcome it.

Leon: Looks like I was right after all. Within the label of king, you really are a useless lump.

Seth: Hm?

Seth: His Synchro-Tuner, Tri Master?

Leon: Come on, Turbo Cannon [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 3].

Seth: What?!

It points its arm and fires. Dragon roars as a chunk is taken out of its neck and it blows up. Seth screams as the explosion engulfs him [Seth LP = 0 and he slows to a stop. He sits there for a minute and looks away.

Leon: What's up? Have you decided?

Seth: I have…yes. My heart is still clouded. I don't know if going there will tell me what I need to know…but I need to try. Salia would not want this.

Leon: Way to put it. Say, take this. It might help.

He throws a card towards Seth. He grabs it and glances. He looks up and nods. Dante and the others wait when Seth walks in.

Baron: Look who finally decided to join us.

Seth: I'm sorry it took me so long everyone. I had to decide. Now I have.

Arnold: Glad to hear it!

Koga: Let's work together!

Dante: Good. We're all gathered together right? Then I'll go ahead and tell you what you need to hear. I know where the Crossed Brotherhood holds their base.

Rika: How do you know that?

Dante: Because….I used to be one of the Crossed Brotherhood's founding members.

Episode 144: As a Baron, As a Father

In a field, two people are dueling.

Boy: Spell card, Polymerization! This lets me combine monsters together. I fuse my Silver Fang and Darkworld Thorns. Now from my deck I can summon Flower Wolf!

Man: I do not think so! Trap card, Spiritual Fusion. This lets me take your Materials and fuse my own monsters. I combine both my Thunder Dragons into Twin- Headed Thunder Dragon. Now a Spell and Trap card combination, Shock Wave and Ring of Defense.

The boy flies back and hits the ground [Boy LP = 0].

Boy: Damn it! I just can't win! What's the point in even dueling? I suck!

Man: Hey, hey. Remember something my son. Even if you lose, that shouldn't matter. Dueling should be fun. Besides son, you could never be a loser. After all, the baron must be strong. It doesn't matter on physical strength, but he must be emotionally and mentally strong. He must be able to make the right decision in the thick of danger, but he also must know what is right, even when the world thinks he is wrong.

Boy: I'll remember dad!

He hugs the man as they both laugh. Baron's flashback ends as he continues to watch.

Rika: I thought I already told you…I will not surrender! As long as I can fight, I will!

Dante watches for a few more seconds and walks off.

Opening

At a basketball court, Axel is dribbling the ball alone. He throws it and it bounces off the rim towards the fence as Tamika picks it up.

Axel: You going to give me an earful again?

Tamika: I just want to know what you plan to do now.

Axel: What do you mean? I thought that would be obvious. Yusuke and Seth may be feeling depressed, but I'm not. As soon as I'm good and ready, I'll crush all those Crossed Brotherhood guys. That Dante guy knows something, I'm sure. Damn! I forgot he said he'd answer our questions.

Tamika: Will you really be able to go? Knowing that you might have to fight Brutus there?

Axel shoots again and it sails over the fence. Axel begins to shake.

Axel: What kind of stupid question is that? I…I'm not scared! You're just too damn weak! I'm strong! I'll be able to fight no matter what! Hide like scared puppies, see if I care! I'll crush every last one and their Yomishin cards!

He shakes more violently and almost falls to his knees. Tamika walks over without saying anything and hugs him as he begins to cry.

Axel: Damn air…it's so putrid here it's making my eyes water.

Tamika: I understand moron. We're all scared. But we'll stop them.

Dante: Sorry, am I interrupting anything?

They break apart freaking out as Dante stands there.

Axel: I-We-She…how much of that did you see?

Dante: Enough. Say, if you need some resolve…I know where you can get it.

Axel and Tamika blink and glance at each other confused as Dante grins. Alphonse and Rika continue to duel [Baron LP = 3600] [Rika LP = 1400]. Alphonse has no other cards on his field other than Thunder- End Dragon [ATK 3000/DEF 2600 RANK 8] while Rika has no cards on her side of the field.

Rika: Here I go, draw! Damn, I might be in serious trouble here. Thunder- End Dragon still has one Overlay Unit. If he chooses to use it, my field will be empty. All I can do is hold on for as long as I can. I set a monster, turn end.

Alphonse: Hmph. Yes, I suppose that is all you can do isn't it? I draw! Heh. Spell card, Future Fusion. This lets me send the proper Fusion Material monsters to the graveyard. Now in two turns, I will be able to summon the Fusion monster in question. But of course, I won't need to! I'll be able to put an end to this now. I remove an Overlay Unit from Thunder- End Dragon and destroy your monsters.

Lightning strikes it as a pit opens in the ground, swallowing Dragon.

Rika: When Sacred Knight's Trap Master is destroyed either by battle or by effect, the Battle Phase is skipped right to the Main Phase 2.

Alphonse: So it would not have mattered either way. But still, no matter. You're only delaying the inevitable. Sooner or later your defense will falter; it is only a matter of time. Turn end!

Baron: Using Thunder- End Dragon's effect on just one monster? Just like you father. You want to end things quickly.

Rika: Looks like it is back to me, draw! I use Rebellion of the Sacred Knights. By removing 3 Scared Knights in my graveyard from play, I get to draw 2 cards. Yes! With this, I take down Thunder- End Dragon! From my hand, I summon Sacred Knight's Sniper [ATK 1500/DEF 900 LV 4]. When this is the only monster on my field with Sacred Knight in its name, then once per turn I can destroy a monster on the field.

Leonid: What?!

Rika: And don't forget that was not a physical attack. I still have my Battle Phase! Take him down Sacred Knight's Sniper! Bullet de Fleur!

It vanishes in a swirl of petals. Alphonse looks around as it appears on a high ledge, pointing the gun. Alphonse turns in shock as a bullet hits him, making him step back [Alphonse LP = 2100].

Alphonse: You're joking…out of all the lucky draws…

Rika: I believe our decks are alive and respond to their duelists. When they need help, the deck provides. I believe my deck reads my desire...and answers me! I set a card and end my turn.

Baron: Rika…you haven't changed at all. You still fight with all your power. Good luck. Don't lose!

Alphonse: Yes…I recall you being tough in the past. And although I am not sure if it involves miracles or anything like that, but you have seemed to have good luck. You do understand though girl…if your deck responds to your desire to win, then my deck responds to my desire to win. Here goes, draw! Heh. I use the Spell card Count Up.

Baron: Count Up?! At a time like this?!

Alphonse: When Count Up is used, I designate a card that goes by turns and raise its count by one. At this point, Future Fusion only has 1 Counter. Using Count Up, I increase the number of counters by 1, to 2. Future Fusion's power! After two turns, the monsters I discarded are fused.

Rika: Hold on…so Thunder- End Dragon was just a decoy?!

Alphonse: From my graveyard I combine two Thunder Dragons.

They both fly into a spiral as lightning is flung in all directions.

Alphonse: Show them your power, Twin- Headed Thunder Dragon [ATK 2800/DEF 2100 LV 7]. Recall how I said it would end? Well now…it ends! Twin- Headed Thunder Dragon, wipe her out! Double Lightning Burst!

Rika: Trap card, Sacred Flourish. This lets me take one Trap card from my opponent's graveyard when I have a Sacred Knight monster on the field and use it as this card. The card I take is your Half Unbreak. All damage I take in this battle is halved and my monster is not destroyed in battle. Rather than take 1300 points of damage, I'll only take 650.

The lightning hits Sniper and blitzes past it to hit Rika. She is pushed back slightly, but holds her ground [Rika LP = 750].

Leonid: Just a handful of life points left. Mop this up your highness!

Alphonse: It won't be much longer. Baron, prepare to return home.

Baron: I will not! Didn't I tell you I still have a mission?! I'm going to find Charlotte and…

Alphonse: I could not care less about her! That little girl has always been so weak! She is too weak to be a baron's son, or a baron's brother.

Baron: You stupid old fool! That's what I've always hated about you! You always looked down on Charlotte, your own daughter!

Alphonse: What choice did I have?! I'm s baron! I have an entire country full of people to take care of! I must guarantee their safety, no matter what! After all these years, you are still just a foolish child. You do not understand that a baron must put his country before anything else! Even if your own family is involved. At Yusuke's house, Yusuke and Alicia still sit there. Someone knocks on the door.

Dante opens the door and walks in.

Alicia: Dante? Why are you here?

Dante: Just wanted to ask a question. You still are looking for resolve, right Yusuke? Well, I know where you can get it.

Yusuke: Resolve?

Rika: Here goes, draw! The Trap card Fleur Guard. This will protect my monster. Thanks to his power, Sniper cannot use his effect until next turn. If I can just survive one more time, I'll be able to win. Here I go, I set a card. Then I change my Sniper to defense mode and end my turn [ATK 1500/DEF 900 LV 4].

Baron: Rika, you're setting up a Trap. But my dad won't fall for something like that.

Alphonse: Here I go, draw! Come on girl…did you honestly think I would fall for such an obvious Trap? From my hand, I use Mystical Space Typhoon. This lets me destroy one Spell or Trap card on the field. I destroy your set card!

Rika: No way! How?!

Alphonse: Didn't I already tell you girl? My deck is responding to my wishes. As long as I can keep drawing cards, my deck will always provide me with the keys to victory! And now that your Trap card is gone, Twin- Headed Thunder Dragon attacks!

It shoots twin bursts of lightning, destroying the monster. Rika watches and falls to her knees. Baron steps forward as Leonid grins.

Alphonse: I will accept your surrender Rika, as well as your offer of resignation. No matter what, you just were not a match for me. Accept that while you still have a shred of dignity.

Leonid: This result was only to be expected. One of the Conquistos cannot match the baron himself.

Baron: Damn it! Rika, you're not seriously going to let it end here are you?!

Rika: I'm sorry young lord…but I only have so much power. This is all I've got. I couldn't protect you once again.

She looks down at her Duel Disk and seems to have a memory. Charlotte cries out as Tin Archduke is destroyed. She falls to her knees and laughs.

Charlotte: You're so amazing Rika!

Rika: Huh? Eh…come on, I'm not that good. I'm still learning.

Baron: Even so, you really know how to duel! I like you Rika. You're not stuck up like the other guards, or feel obligated to be our guardian. You're like a friend.

Rika: It's kind of you to say…but I'm nobody. You're both the children of a baron. Thousands of years from now, people will still be telling stories about you. Me? I'm just the bodyguard. I'm not even worth a footnote.

Baron: …In that case, why don't you become our big sister?

Rika: Huh?

Rika: By removing Fusion material monsters in the graveyard, one being a Synchro monster, I can Fusion Summon. I combine my Chevalier de Fleur and Centaur Mina.

They combine in a tornado of roses and flowers.

Rika: Avatar of the flowers, show yourself! Chevalier Centaur Mina [ATK 3400/DEF 1900 LV 9].

Alphonse: Tch. Her real ace. I don't see her use it that often.

Rika: Battle! Chevalier attacks your Twin- Headed Thunder Dragon! Go, Rapier de Rosa!

It gallops, drawing its sword, chopping the monster in half. Alphonse roars in pain [Alphonse LP = 3000].

Baron: Nice hit!

Leonid: Gr…not yet! He still has life.

Rika: Turn end.

Alphonse: …My turn, draw. I set a card and end my turn. My set card is Blowback Blast. When a monster attempts to destroy this card, it destroys that monster and deals its power as damage. Once per turn. Chevalier Centaur Mina can destroy a set card. She won't take a risk. She'll get rid of my set. And when she does…

Rika: Here I go, draw! Nothing I can use. I'll just have to take a chance. What should I do? I'll just have to go for it. Take this! Rapier de Rosa!

Alphonse: What!? You did not use its power?! Why?!

Rika: Simple. Because you know the way I fight. So I did something you would not be able to stand up against.

Alphonse: …Why? Why do you stand against me!? Do you think I know less than you?! I'm their father! I did all this…because I loved them! Charlotte was always so frail, so weak. Alphonse begins to tear up and remembers a birthday party with Baron and Charlotte as well as playing a game together and a group hug. He begins to tear up and looks at his set card, then puts his arms at his side. Chevalier cuts him across the chest and he flies back [Alphonse LP = 0]. Leonid freaks out as Rika sighs and wipes her forehead.

Rika: Didn't think I was going to win that one.

Baron: Very nicely done Rika! That's why you're my bodyguard after all.

Rika: Thanks, but it really wasn't that great. After all, I barely won.

Leonid: Inexcusable! There's no way I'll let this slide! I'll take you all on myself! I'll…

Alphonse: Let it go Leonid.

Leonid: Sir?! But I must protest that…

Alphonse: Let it GO Leonid. I lost fair and square, a deal is a deal. We shall return to Spain right away. No more complaining or I shall leave you here.

Leonid: Gah…I'll remember this!

They begin to walk off. Alphonse stops and turns around.

Alphonse: My son, Baron…please bring Charlotte back and return home safely.

Baron: …I can promise you I will father. You might as well get dinner on the table.

Alphonse: That's my son alright. I'll make all of your favorite dishes!

He walks off as Baron smiles. He looks towards the sky.

Baron: I know what I want to do now Rika. Your duel has shown me what direction I want to move in. And would you look at that? Looks like I'm not the only one.

Yusuke, Alicia, Axel, Tamika, Neo, and Chimera stand nearby. They all look on as Axel snorts.

Axel: I could have done better of course. But if she can beat a baron, we can beat these Brotherhood guys.

Tamika: That's really all you can say? Jeez, compliments don't match you.

Chimera: He has a point though.

Neo: If she can fight, then we will too. We're all in this together after all.

Yusuke: She battled even though she was afraid. And look at me, scared of my own shadow. I guess I look pretty pathetic huh? Dante…just say the word and we'll be ready to fight.

Dante: Glad to hear it. We'll be moving out soon. Should I tell them now? No…it's still too soon.

Alicia: Eh? Hold on, we're not all here. Seth's not here.

Yusuke: Hey, now that you mention it, you're right. Where's Seth?

At the airport, a jet lands as a handful of people are inside.

???: Cynemia City eh? What a tacky little city. Spain is much classier than this place.

??? 2: That's enough Leonid. Don't forget we're here for a mission.

Leonid: Yes of course your highness! But was it really necessary for you to come too? I could have handled this.

??? 2: Yes, that may be true. But Spain can do without me for a few days. Right now, there's something more important I must do. I'm going to take my son back home. Whether he wants to go or not.

Opening

In a hotel room, Rika is having a nightmare. In it, Baron is covered with blood and dueling Charlotte as Slinky Dragon roars and rises up.

She turns to look at the other empty bed.

At Yusuke's house, Yusuke is sitting in the dark again with his deck in front of him. He looks down as he remembers fighting Seth, Titan, Neo, Armen, and Axel for the first time, then remembers his two loses.

Yusuke: I use to be strong. Why can't I protect anyone anymore? Am I…really that weak? I can't be a shield anymore? No! My friends are counting on me! I can't…argh!

He punches the ground as he sits there.

Axel: I renounce all ties to you, Yusuke Iruiza. Your fangs are dull.

Yusuke: Damn it…

In a dinner, Baron is wolfing down two plates of food while Rika drinks only a cup of tea and watches in disgust. Outside, a group of people walk in.

Shopkeeper: Good day! What would you like to order?

??? 2: You to leave.

??? 2: …Oh, trying to ignore me eh? You've always been such a child Alphonse. You even insist on going by that irritating nickname.

Baron: I wonder if I ask they'll give me some pickles.

??? 2: Stop ignoring me you piece of crap! I'm not going to take that from you!

Baron: I don't have anything to say to you dad. Alphonse el Alejandro should focus on his country. Stay out of my business.

Alphonse: You should better than do such basic moves against me. My turn, draw! Heh. When I control no cards when you have a monster and a set card, I can Special Summon my Hammer Rush Bouncer [ATK 2300/DEF 2000 LV 6]. And that was only a Special Summon, so I can summon again. I play the Tuner monster Sinister Sprocket [ATK 400/DEF 0 LV 1].

Baron: Tuner monster?!

Alphonse: I tune my level 1 Sinister Sprocket and level 6 Hammer Rush Bouncer.

Baron: Right into a Synchro Summon. That's my dad for you.

Alphonse: When Sinister Sprocket is used as a Tuner for a DARK Synchro monster, a Spell or Trap is destroyed.

Rika: You destroyed my Liberty At Last.

Alphonse: Now Chaos Archfiend King, wipe out her set monster! Chaos Blade.

It draws a sword and chops the set monster in half.

Rika: When Sacred Knight Joan is destroyed, I can discard one card and add a level 4 or below monster to my hand.

Alphonse: No matter. Nothing will help you. I set two cards and end my turn.

Leonid: That's the baron for you. His deck is so powerful and fast the opponent loses in seconds. Rika, this is proper punishment. Lament your treason!

Rika: Looks like my turn, draw! Yes. I use the Spell card Fusion Sage. Now a Polymerization from my deck goes to my hand. Next I use Polymerization. This lets me combine monsters. I fuse Sacred Knight's Spearholder and Horse of the Floral Knights.

Both combine in a spiral.

Rika: Come on, Centaur Mina [ATK 2200/DEF 1600 LV 6]. And that was also a Special Summon. I Normal Summon my Sacred Knight's Militia [ATK 1600/DEF 0 LV 4]. I use the power of this card. By sacrificing his attack this turn, one monster on the field gains 1000 attack points. I choose Centaur Mina [ATK 3200/DEF 1600 LV 6].

It lunches forward and chops it in two. Rika steps back.

Alphonse: And an attack from the second Chaos Archfiend King. When he attacks, the attack and defense points of your monster switch [ATK 0/DEF 1600 LV 4]. Chaos Blade.

It chops the monster in two as it blows up, sending Rika flying back as she screams [Rika LP = 1400].

Baron: Rika!

Alphonse: This is what you deserve Rika. For tearing apart my family, you will survive greatly.

Baron: You stupid old cod! I'm trying to find Charlotte! To get our family back together!

Alphonse: …I never want to see Charlotte again. She is such a waste.

Baron: How dare you!

Alphonse: She is no part of this family. Chasing her is a waste of time. Come home Baron and forget her/

Baron: You can take that suggestion and stuff it up your…!

Rika: How can you say that? I'm sorry your highness…but how can you turn your back on your daughter?! I definitely can't excuse this! Trap card, Damage Blender! When I take two consecutive amounts of damage, I can fuse the damage and summon a Fusion monster with lower attack points than my total damage.

Leonid: Fusing damage?!

Rika: I fuse my damage and summon a second Centaur Mina [ATK 2200/DEF 1600 LV 6].

Alphonse: So now you are giving me a lecture? Hmph, stop pretending as though you are all-knowing girl. A father knows better than anyone else. If you insist on trying to tell me my job, I'll have to punish you for sure.

In Yusuke's room, someone knocks on the door.

Yusuke: I don't want to see anyone.

Alicia: Not even a friend?

She walks in and sits next to Yusuke.

Alicia: How are you holding up?

Yusuke: How do you think? Everything's ruined.

Alicia: Don't say that. Axel doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yusuke: But he's right! How can I fight…how can I protect you guys if I'm afraid! I'm scared…not just of Faust, but of losing. What if I screw up when it counts? What if…?

Alicia hugs him as his eyes widen.

Alicia: I've never been scared of that. Because I know even if a portal to hell would open, you'd just plug it up again. I believe in you. We all do.

Yusuke: Alicia…thanks. Thank you so much…

Dante keeps watching and folds his arms as the duel continues.

Rika: My turn, draw! I will certainly end things now. I summon the Tuner monster Fleur Synchron [ATK 400/DEF 200 LV 2].

Baron: Her ace monster.

Rika: I tune the level 2 Fleur Synchron and level 6 Centaur Mina.

Synchron becomes 2 rings that Mina charges through, becoming 6 stars [2 + 6 = 8]

Rika: Stir divine petals and become a sword that splits the sky and earth! Synchro Summon! Chevalier de Fleur [ATK 2700/DEF 2300 LV 8]. Strike down his Chaos Archfiend King!

Chevalier draws its rapier and stabs the monster as it blows up [Alphonse LP = 3600].

Rika: That should do nicely. I set a card and end my turn. I'm sorry your highness…but I will not give up! I'll win!

Alphonse: …How sad. You seem to be under the impression that I'm finished. Poor deluded girl…let me show you the sad reality! Here I go, draw! I use the Spell card Exceed Plant. I can copy the level of one monster on the field and summon this Spell as a monster. I copy my Waltz Token, currently copying Chaos Archfiend King [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 7]. Trap card, Tag Level. When I have two monsters of the same level, I pay 1000 life points to raise both of their levels [Alphonse LP = 2600]. It is worth it [ATK 2600/DEF 2600 LV 8] [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 8].

Baron: Is he…?

Alphonse: Spell card, Cross Soul. I destroy the Waltz Token and summon one monster of the same level from my deck. Show yourself, Belial, Marquis of Darkness [ATK 2800/DEF 2400 LV 8].

Dante: Ah…I see. Tokens can't be used for Exceed materials.

Alphonse: Get ready boy. I Overlay my level 8 Exceed Plant and Belial, Marquis of Darkness.

Both monsters turn into lights and fly into a spiral.

Alphonse: With these two monsters I construct the Overlay Network. Exceed Summon! Show yourself; arrive in lightning, Thunder- End Dragon [ATK 3000/DEF 2600 RANK 8].

Leonid: That's the baron for you! Only a true genius could effectively combine Synchro, Fusion, and Exceed monsters as he can.

Alphonse: And now it ends with this. I sacrifice one of the Overlay Units on Thunder- End Dragon [Unit = 1]. Now all face up monsters are destroyed. Lightning Ends All!

A bolt descends and wipes out Chevalier. Rika watches as she recalls Charlotte and Baron huddling in a lightning as Rika is trying to comfort them.

Young Rika: It's fine…

It ends as Alphonse laughs.

Alphonse: So in the end, you could not do your job properly. I suppose this in its truest form is irony! And you can no longer hide behind your uncle. Well? Will you abandon your Duel Disk and flee?

Rika watches as she has another flashback. This time, Baron and Charlotte huddle as a wolf snarls at them. Rika shivers and stands in front of them. The wolf charges as Rika closes her eyes. Ren gets in the way and blocks it as Rika watches in horror.

Rika: I will not. My duty to the royal family comes before everything else, even my own life if it comes to that. The young lord is a member of the royal family. And so…if I run away it'll be the same as dying! Until my last breath, I will fight anyone! Including you…

Alphonse: I see. Then it cannot be helped. I am taking my son home with me. I could care less about my daughter though... That little annoyance who took my beloved wife away from me. But you Alphonse, no, Baron! I'm taking you back whether you want it or not! Thunder- End Dragon, direct attack! Lightning Ray!

Dragon opens its mouth and begins to charge lightning. Rika holds her ground as it fires. Baron steps forward in shock.

Alphonse: It's over!

Baron: Today we'll be going over Thunder- End Dragon. When this card is out, you can remove an Overlay Unit and destroy all face up monsters on the field.

Yusuke: Say, are the rumors true about lightning not striking the same place twice?

Baron: I don't know, let's find out.

Thunder- End Dragon appears and roars. Yusuke and Baron freak out and run around in circles as lightning is shot all around. Both are hit and fall.

Baron: Looks like…yes.

Yusuke: I'm…so glad.

Episode 142: Resolves, What Next?

At a dinner, Axel, Tamika, and Alicia are seated. Tamika picks at her food while Alicia stirs her straw in her drink.

Axel: So…

Tamika: Stuff it.

Axel: I didn't even say anything!

Tamika: You probably would have said something stupid to try and lighten the mood. Skip it. No one really wants to hear it today.

Axel: Well, excuse me! I just don't want to see everyone acting so emo! Jeez, fine I'll shut up!

Tamika: This blows, it really does. Dex is with the bad guys, Seth is trying to do Salia's job, and now Yusuke's off sulking and won't leave his house. Maybe going there was a mistake after all.

Alicia: Yusuke…

Opening

Yusuke's mother opens the door as Dante stands there.

Dante: Good day! Is your son home?

Yusuke's mother: Who are you?

Dante: I'm a good friend of his. Just wanted to see how he was doing. I brought some donuts if that's cool.

Yusuke's mother: Your offer is very kind. But…I'm afraid Yusuke said he doesn't want to see anyone. Did something happen?

Dante: …In a manner of speaking. Oh well, too bad. Give him my best regards. Here, for you.

He hands her the box and walks off, whistling. Yusuke's mother bites into the donut and grimaces.

Yusuke's mother: Powdered sugar and strawberry icing together? What a weird sense of taste?

Dante kicks a can as he walks off.

Dante: This ain't good. Vergil's really gotten to him. Damn! Yusuke, we need you!

Yusuke is curled up against a wall. He remembers.

Faust: I release all three monsters! Show yourself, Yomishin Diablo!

Yusuke shudders as he remembers the monster laughing as it aims to slash him.

Yusuke: How? How can I hope to fight something like that? Even with Accel Synchro I couldn't win. And even if I tried Delta Accel Synchro, it wouldn't have worked. Leon said it would take ten years to master it. Damn! Is this all the power I have?! Is this the best I can do!?

He slams his hand against the wall and cries out again. Warp Speed appears in spirit form and looks down as well. Elsewhere, Koga is frying burgers again as Arnold is walking around taking orders. Seth is in the back washing dishes. A couple walks by and peaks through the window grinning. Seth turns and they hide as he remains emotionless and continues washing dishes. The boss grins and flips through money.

Boss: This is great! I thought having a cute girl around would get more customers, but now I'm making twice as much as usual! To think, all I needed was a washed-out celebrity. I hope Salia never comes back!

Seth snarls and grabs his collar. Koga and Arnold turn.

Boss: H-Hey! What's the problem?!

Seth continues to glare at him and pushes him, walking off.

Seth: Going on my lunch break.

He slams the door behind him. Koga and Arnold glance at each other as Seth walks down the road, leaning against the wall. He opens a bag and pulls out a sandwich. He recalls…

Salia's mother: Here you are. That's going to be enough food right?

Seth: Yeah….why are you doing this? Your daughter is….because of me…

Salia's mother: Don't feel down like that. I miss her, of course. But she would have wanted this. If something had happened to you, she never would have forgiven herself. She really cared about you Seth. So don't you worry. For making my little girl happy, you'll always be welcome here.

Seth looks down as the flashback ends.

Seth: That may be true. But what good I am…if I can't help anyone?

In a hotel room, Baron is flipping through a book and typing on a computer at the same time. The door opens as Rika walks out wrapped in a towel and hides.

Rika: I-I didn't know you were still here!

Baron: Relax, I won't look. I'm busy right now.

Rika: What are you doing?

Baron: Figuring out our next course of action. It's been five days since the battle at Olympus Castle. I'm trying to decide what to do now, or where we should go. Wait for them to come to us, or go straight to them.

Rika: Are we going to get Yusuke's help? You seemed adamant before all this but now…

Baron: Yusuke might not be of help to me. He nearly lost that duel there. I do not wish to abandon him…but I have my own objectives. If Yusuke will be a problem…I can't help him.

Rika: I understand. I'll help you though. Don't think otherwise.

Baron: Naturally Rika. I know I can depend on you. Somehow, we'll have Charlotte. At least…I hope so.

Rika notices the book he has is a scrapbook and looks away. In a room, Juno looks down as some other Olympians are there.

Juno: So that's it then…the end of us.

Prometheus: No. It isn't.

Venus: What do you mean? Our leader is gone. Not just that, but most of our numbers were taken out. What hope do we have?

Prometheus: We said the same thing over a year ago. But then who came to our rescue? It was Yusuke.

Leon: He's right. Yusuke has helped us before and proven us wrong many times. Trust me, I dueled him. He's in a rough spot, but as long as we put our faith in him, we won't regret it.

At Yusuke's house, Axel is rushing towards the door.

Tamika: Axel! Hey, Axel!

Axel: Shut up. I'm doing this.

Alicia: Just give him some time. If we try and talk to him too soon…

Axel: Time? Fine, let's wait. Wait until those Brotherhood guys attack us again? No thanks! That coward can cower all he wants, but now's not the time.

He knocks on the door as Yusuke's mother answers.

Axel: I'm here to see Yusuke.

Yusuke's mother: I'm sorry, he doesn't…hey, hold on! He doesn't want to see anyone!

Axel pushes by her and heads up the stairs.

Tamika: Sorry for him!

Alicia: We don't know what's gotten into him!

Axel opens the door to Yusuke's room. He looks up as Axel walks over and yanks him to his feet. Before Yusuke can respond, he punches Yusuke in the face and he falls down.

Alicia: Axel!

Yusuke: Hey, what's your…?!

Axel drags him to his feet again and punches him in the gut as he coughs and then kicks him in the side. Yusuke staggers as Axel kicks him in the stomach and he falls down.

Axel: Is that it? You're not even going to fight back?

Yusuke: Axel! Stop it!

Axel punches him again and he falls. He huddles as Axel begins to kick.

Axel: This is so despicable! You aren't even trying to fight back! Are you so depressed you can't even fight anymore, you're done? That is so damn cowardly!

Yusuke: You don't understand! You didn't face him head on! So don't…

Axel: Maybe I didn't, no. But even so it isn't like you to run and hide like a scared kitten for losing! Are you really that weak Yusuke?!

Yusuke blocks his fist and punches him in the face as well.

Axel: That's it…maybe you haven't lost you fangs after all.

Yusuke: Fight me Axel! I'll show you I haven't lost my fangs!

Axel: Sounds good to me!

Alicia: Hang on, is now really the time for this?!

Tamika: Yeah, we should…

Axel: Hey, if he's raring to go, who am I to stop him?

Tamika: Jeez, stupid boys! Fine, do what you want!

Alicia: Is this really what you want?

Yusuke: …It is. I've been acting too sullen. I'll show you I'm not afraid.

Outside, Dante sighs as he bites into a donut.

Dante: This isn't good. Yusuke has lost his fighting spirit. I was counting on him too. Damn! What do I do now?!

He looks up and sees Axel and Yusuke lined up. He looks confused, but walks over.

Axel: Not too late to back down.

Yusuke: Same to you Axel, same to you.

Axel: That's the spirit. Bring it on then, let's see your fighting spirit! Neo Speed World, set on!

D- Wheels: Duel mode, auto-pilot standby.

Both: Duel! [Axel LP = 4000][Yusuke LP = 4000].

They take off and begin to race around the stadium.

Axel: This is where we had our first duel. It really has been a while huh? Go one, you can go first! Just like last time. Let's see you win like you did last time!

Yusuke: Be careful what you wish for! Here I go, draw! Yes! With this, I can get out my most powerful monster quickly. I set a monster in defense mode. I set a card and end my turn.

Axel: So once again you play defense. Time for me to go on offense! Here I go draw [SPC: Axel = 1 Yusuke = 1]. This monster can be Special Summoned from my hand when my opponent has a monster on their field and I don't. But if I do, its attack and defense points are cut in half. Come on, Vice Dragon [ATK 1000/DEF 1200 LV 5]. Now I release him to Advance Summon my Tiger Dragon [ATK 2400/DEF 1800 LV 6]. When this card is summoned, 2 Spells or Traps burn. I destroy that set!

Yusuke: My Call of the Haunted!

Axel: Battle! Tiger Dragon, destroy his set monster.

It spits fire and burns it up as the fragments begin to reform.

Yusuke: When Building Block is destroyed, two more can be summoned from the deck [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 2] [ATK 800/DEF 600 LV 2].

Axel: Summon all the trash you want, it won't save you! I set two cards and end my turn. Come on then, show me what you're made of!

Yusuke: Alright, here goes! [SPC: Yusuke = 2 Axel = 2]. What to do, what to do? I was going to summon Warp Speed Dragon, but now there doesn't seem to be anything I can do in this situation. I'll have to go with what I've got. I summon the Tuner monster Dimension Material [ATK 0/DEF 300 LV 2]. Level 2 Dimension Material tunes to both level 2 Building Blocks!

Material becomes 2 rings that the Blocks fly through, becoming 4 stars [2 + 2 + 2 = 6].

Yusuke: Winds speed past faster than noise and slash the opponent to pieces with fast and graceful strokes. Synchro Summon, Sound- Speed Slicer [ATK 2400/DEF 1900 LV 6].

Axel: You need more power than that if you want to wound me.

Yusuke: I don't need it. By halving the attack points of Slicer, his effect triggers. Now he is able to attack you directly [ATK 1200/DEF 1900 LV 6]. Go, Sickle Sonicboom!

Axel: Fool. I told you that you need more power than that! Trap card, Attack Guidance Armor! Now your attack is redirected at a different target of my choosing. I select Tiger Dragon as your target.

Yusuke: No! And I cut his attack points already!

Axel: Power will only defeat power! Cheap tricks won't work on me! Go, Tiger Fire!

It roars and spits fire, which absorbs the two sonicbooms and hits Yusuke. He screams and slows down [Yusuke LP = 2800]. He begins to spin out, but turns the other way and counters the current, driving ahead.

Alicia: That was close…but this isn't like him.

Axel: You're getting weaker Yusuke. I can see the holes in your strategy!

Yusuke: There aren't any holes in my deck! I'll show you! Damn…gotta survive until next turn. I set two cards and end my turn.

Dante: Wow. Axel is really going all out. And Yusuke can do little more than defend. Hate to say it, but it's probably going to be his win.

Axel: Is this all you've got? Ha! I've fought primary scholars who could duel better! I would not mind if it was someone else…but against you, this makes me ill! I'm not Faust Yusuke, but you're dueling like I am! Your duel is made of fear!

Yusuke: My duel…is made of fear? Am I…afraid?

Faust: Direct attack! Trap card! Fool! Die! I summon Yomishin Diablo! Finish him, Claws of the End!

Yusuke: No, you're wrong!

Axel: I see. I'll make you open your eyes and see the sorry excuse for your fight then! Here I go, draw! [SPC: Axel =3 Yusuke = 3]. I summon Powered Tuner [ATK 1400/DEF 1000 LV 4]. Tiger Dragon, direct attack! Tiger Fire!

Yusuke: Trap card, Negate Attack!

The attack hits and vanishes.

Axel: Hmph. I knew it. I set a card and end my turn.

Yusuke: Yes, now's my chance! Here I go, draw! [SPC: Axel = 4 Yusuke = 4]. Trap card, Descending Lost Star! Now one Synchro monster is revived with a decreased level, negated effect, and no defense points. Come on, Sound- Speed Slicer [ATK 2400/DEF 0 LV 5]. Now I summon the Tuner monster, Last- Model Phantom [ATK 0/DEF 1500 LV 3]. Level 3 Last- Model Phantom tunes to level 5 Sound- Speed Slicer.

Phantom becomes 3 rings that Slicer flies through, becoming 5 stars [3 + 5 = 8]

Yusuke: Speed reaches the highest level and becomes a power that warps space and time. Appear now, lord of speed, Warp Speed Dragon [ATK 2500/DEF 2000 LV 8].

Tamika: His ace monster. But…

Yusuke: Battle! Warp Speed, attack Powered Tuner! Warp Dimension Fire!

It spits fire and burns up the monster. Axel doesn't even respond [Axel LP = 2900].

Yusuke: And now his effect. You take half of his attack points as damage. Hyper Sonic Flash.

It roars and fires light as Axel doesn't respond again [Axel LP = 2200].

Yusuke: That'll do. I end my turn. You see?! My fangs are still sharp enough to clip you.

Axel: …Don't go there man. Don't fight with this half- hearted style…and then call it power! Trap card, Soul Rope! I pay 1000 life points, but now I can summon a monster in my deck [Axel LP = 1200]. Come on out, Luster Dragon [ATK 1900/DEF 1600 LV 4].

Tamika: It's over. Axel's won.

Alicia: How can you tell?

Tamika: You can tell just by looking at Yusuke. Haven't you noticed he isn't playing like usual? Had he used Negate Attack in his first turn, he could have stopped the attack. Not even that, had he tuned Last- Model Phantom to Building Block, he could have summoned Mach 5 Flyer and returned Tiger Dragon to Axel's hand. He isn't thinking anymore. All he's doing is throwing down set cards and hoping they will be effective. He's trying to use power, but his deck just isn't built for that. Axel's on the other hand…works best when pressured.

Axel: Here I go, draw! [SPC: Axel = 5 Yusuke = 5]. I use the Spell card Speed Spell- Angel Baton. Now I draw 2 cards and discard one. By decreasing the level of Tiger Dragon, I revive Level Cutter [ATK 0/DEF 0 LV 1] [ATK 2400/DEF 1800 LV 5].

Yusuke: No…don't tell me!

Axel: Next I play the Tuner monster The White Stone of Legend [ATK 300/DEF 250 LV 1]. Level 1 The White Stone of Legend tunes to level 4 Luster Dragon and level 5 Tiger Dragon.

Stone becomes 1 ring that Dragon and Tiger fly through, becoming 9 stars [1 + 4 + 5 = 10]

Axel: A silver lightning bolt descends and rips heaven, hell, and the earth. Synchro Summon! My surging soul, Blue-Eyes Silver Dragon [ATK 3800/DEF 3000 LV 10].

Yusuke: Oh no…why that of all cards?!

Axel: Wipe him out Dragon! Destruction Burst- Heaven's Thunder!

It slowly charges and fires, wiping away Warp Speed. Yusuke screams [Yusuke LP = 1500]

Axel: I'm not through with you yet! Trap card, Lineage of Destruction. Now I can attack again since my monster destroyed yours. Take this!

Yusuke: No…stop. Please….stop!

Axel: Destruction Burst- Heaven's Thunder!

It roars and fires, hitting Yusuke. He screams as he slows down and spins out [Yusuke LP = 0]. Everyone watches in frozen horror. Axel backs up next to him.

Axel: So that's it. Your fangs have become so dull you can't even hurt me. To think, I wanted to fight you again. I renounce all ties to you, Yusuke Iruiza.

He spits and drives off. Tamika sighs and steps up as well, walking off. Yusuke clenches his fist as clouds begin to cover the sky as rain pours. Alicia sits there as Yusuke begins to cry.

Yusuke: Not again. Why? Why is happening?!

He screams in sorrow as Dante watches sadly.

Baron: Today we'll be going over Blue- Eyes Silver Dragon. It is a Synchro monster that needs either a Blue- Eyes Tuner or non- Tuner monster. And…that's about it.

Axel: Hey, how dare you give such a brief review! I'll have you know…

Baron: Hold that thought.

He presses a button that mutes Axel as he continues shouting with no sound. Baron snickers to himself.

Episode 141: Yomishin Diablo Rises!

Storm clouds begin to collect over Cynemia City. Yusuke's mother watches as she looks out the window. Yusuke's dad is sitting on the couch with Minko walking around.

Yusuke's mother: Yusuke…please let nothing have happened!

Yusuke's dad: Yusuke…let's not worry about that. We need to count on him. Do not worry. He'll turn out find. After all, he's our kid. He's tough.

Yusuke's mother: Yes…I sure hope you're right.

The Oracle and Juno watch the castle from a distance as darkness begins to shroud it. Faust continues to ride ahead of Yusuke as Vergil continues to stand before Jupiter.

Opening

Faust is racing down the mountain pass as Yusuke moves behind him [Faust LP = 3700] [Yusuke LP = 2000]. [SPC: Yusuke = 4 Faust = 4]. Faust has Necro Worm and Necro Binder [ATK 2000/DEF 0 LV 8] [ATK 700/DEF 1300 LV 3] with the face-up Macro Cosmos and no other cards. Yusuke has no cards on his field. He pants and begins to slow down.

Faust: What's wrong? Can't keep up with me? You did understand that if your D- Wheel stops, you surrender the duel right?

Yusuke begins to tie a bandage around his arm. Faust raises an eyebrow as Yusuke begins to speed up again.

Yusuke: I did a bad job…but it'll hold for now.

Faust: …And just what is that exactly?

Yusuke: Like you said, if the D- Wheel stops, I lose. So I can't afford to let anything get in my way. The blood'll get in the way, so I decided to compress the wound.

Faust: You are more focused on the duel than your physical health?

Yusuke: Yeah…but that's just the way I am. You challenged me as a duelist. So I'll give you a fair match Faust!

Faust: Hmph. Here's hoping you do not regret that.

In the castle, Dante peaks out from behind a building. Seeing no one there, he quickly rushes out and hides again as Neo and Chimera pass by.

Neo: Jeez, where is everyone? This place just feels creepy without all the fighting going on.

Chimera: I don't know, but I don't like this. Did something happen to Yusuke and the others?

Neo: No, couldn't be! Those guys are made out of iron sometimes, I swear!

Chimera: Either way, we'd better keep looking around. We should at least make absolutely sure they are okay.

Dante: So, Vergil is setting the last part of his plan into motion eh? Better get moving here and now.

He rushes off as Jupiter and Vergil are still dueling elsewhere in the castle. [Jupiter LP = 4000][Vergil LP = 1200]. Vergil has no cards on his field while Jupiter has a set card, The Big SATURN [ATK 2800/DEF 2200 LV 8], and The Despair URANUS [ATK 3200/DEF 2300 LV 8]. Vergil still grins when his face turns pale and he staggers. He begins coughing and falls to his knees. Jupiter's eyes widen as he steps forward.

Jupiter: Hey!

Vergil: Worrying about an enemy? No good, no good at all. You should be concerned with your own life. Not mine.

He takes out a needle and fills the syringe. He injects it into his arm as his coughing slows down.

Vergil: I have tuberculosis you see. I need to have an injection every so often or else.

Jupiter: Hmph. I will not pity you after all you've done.

Vergil: Like I want you to. Here I go, draw. I set a monster. I set two cards and end my turn.

Jupiter: All he's done is set cards. He must be planning something. I'll have to end this duel!

Yusuke: Since I have 5 Speed Counters I can revive a remove from play Synchro monster. Show yourself, Light- Speed Fighter [ATK 2700/DEF 2000 LV 7]. When a monster has been Special Summoned, I can Twinjet from my hand [ATK 1700/DEF 1500 LV 5]. Now I summon the Tuner monster Tune Mechanic [ATK 700/DEF 500 LV 2]. I tune my level 2 Tune Mechanic and level 5 Twinjet.

Mechanic becomes 2 rings that Twinjet flies through, becoming 5 stars [2 + 5 = 7]

Yusuke: Light speeds into a rushing warrior that destroys with blinding speed. Synchro Summon! Light-Speed Horseman [ATK 2600-2800/DEF 1000 LV 7]. Since he was summoned using Tune Mechanic as Synchro material, he gains 100 attack points for each monster I used. Now I've got two great monsters! Fighter, attack Necro Worm!

It stabs the monster with its spear. It blows up and the shockwaves hit Faust as he rattles, gasping in pain [Faust LP = 1600].

Axel: Yeah! Such a great hit!

Tamika: Yeah, but that worm is coming back next turn. If it does, it'll make things tough.

Seth: No…Faust is still going easy on him.

Koga: How can you tell?

Arnold: Look at the cards he is playing. Cards that only annoy not fight. Faust still doesn't take this fight seriously. Otherwise, he would win right away.

Yusuke: Huh?!

Faust: By removing Necro Magician from play when one monster I control is removed from play, that monster can come back with 1000 attack points [ATK 3000/DEF 0 LV 8].

Rika: Whoa…this Faust guy knows how to duel. He's combining his cards in ways I've never seen before!

Faust: Necro Worm, swallow up Light- Speed Fighter.

It flies forward and flies through a wormhole. Fighter looks around as it appears behind him, eating it up. Yusuke cries in pain as the spikes buffer him, making his wound reopen [Yusuke LP = 1700]. He hisses in pain and slows down, but speeds back up.

Baron: This isn't good. He's hoping to wound Yusuke to the point where he will no longer be able to fight.

Faust: With that, I end my turn. Your monster returns [ATK 2600/DEF 1000 LV 7]. Your arm hurts doesn't it? Are you going to give up?

Yusuke: No…never!

Faust: That's the spirit. Turn end!

Back in the castle, Jupiter looks at his drawn card.

Jupiter: I must not delay any longer. I need to defeat him right away, child or not. I use the Spell card Foolish Burial. This lets me send a monster from my deck to the graveyard. I summon the most powerful card among the Planet Series monsters. Come forth, The Grand JUPITER! [ATK 2500/DEF 2000 LV 8].

Vergil: Ho. Three Planet Series monsters gathered on the field. Interesting…

Jupiter: At this time, I use the power of JUPITER. Once per turn, one monster on the field becomes his Equip card. I choose your set monster!

Vergil: When Spell Ogre leaves the field, a Spell card is added from my deck to my hand.

Yusuke: Accel Synchro! Show yourself, Hyper Speed Dragon [ATK 3500/DEF 3000 LV 12]

Faust: There it is. By destroying that monster, I make my victory happen.

Yusuke: If you can that is! Hyper Speed Dragon, attack Necro Worm! My monster will not be removed from play using his effect. Go, Hyper Power Stream!

It charges up an attack and fires, destroying the Worm. Faust screams in pain [Faust LP = 1100] as the attack hits him. His eye mask cracks off his face.

Yusuke: And now his effect!

Faust: I don't think so. Trap card, Mercy Killing. When a monster is destroyed, all damage for the rest of the turn is negated.

Yusuke: Oh well. You can't beat me. I'm going to stop your insane plans. And I'll save this world!

Faust: Save it? …Tell me Yusuke, do you know why I hate the world? It is because I bear the scars this world gave me.

He looks up as there is a burn on his face.

Yusuke: …What?! Your face!

Faust: Now you see. This world took away everything I had. I will…destroy this world, and return these scars it gave to me!

Vergil: Here I go, draw! Sorry old man, but this duel is over. From my hand, I use Soul Exchange. Now I can use one of your monsters as a release. Next I use Soul Exchange. This lets me release on of your monsters for my summon.

Jupiter: Wait…he added three Spells to his hand. Huh! Don't…tell me!

Vergil: Spell card…Soul Exchange. This lets me release one of my opponent's monsters and summon my own.

Jupiter: No…three for all my monsters. Did he…plan this!?

Vergil: Trap card, DNA Transplant. All monsters on the field become DARK. You see, this card can only be summoned by releasing 3 DARK monsters. I release The Big SATURN, The Despair URANUS, and The Grand JUPITER. Show yourself, my almighty monster. Rip the world apart, Yomishin- Iblis!

Darkness spreads from him and begins to spread through the castle.

Neo: W-What's that?!

Chimera: Darkness?!

Dante: Damn it! Run morons!

He runs towards them, darkness spreading from him as he, Neo, and Chimera vanish before it engulfs them. Some Regal Olympians and Brotherhood members are engulfed and vanish. Jupiter looks in shock as a door appears, the doors being smashes off their hinges as a snarling dragon emerges [ATK 4000/DEF 2000 LV 12].

Jupiter: What…is this?! Never before have I felt a monster with such evil!

Everyone looks in shock as the castle has darkness spreading from it.

Neptune: What's going on in there!

Venus: Lord Jupiter…what happened?

Faust: I see. Better just end this now then. Or else it will cause problems. Trap card, Return from the Different Dimension! I pay half my life points [Faust LP = 550]. Now I can summon these removed from play monsters. Come on, Necro Worm and Necro Binder [ATK 2000/DEF 0 LV 8] [ATK 700/DEF 1300 LV 3]. Now…I release my three monsters.

Leon: What?!

Faust: Break down the doors of the underworld, tear open the gates of Hell and unleash 1000 years of darkness! Show yourself, Yomishin- Diablo!

Another gate appears as claws stab through it, ripping the doors off their hinges. The monster appears with its tongue hanging out, laughing manically. [ATK 3000/DEF 1000 LV 10].

Yusuke: Whoa…what a powerful card…no, relax! Next I'll bring back Warp Speed Dragon and Speed Hero, then summon Needle Rocket and revive Magic Tour Bus. Then I can Delta Accel Synchro Summon. I'll win, no matter what!

Faust: Too bad for you, but it is over. When Diablo is summoned, the attack points of all monsters go to 0 [ATK 0/DEF 3000 LV 12].

Yusuke: Zero….attack points?! No, there's got to be something I can do!

Faust: Goodbye. Diablo, finish this fool! Claws of the End!

It laughs and rushes towards it, slashing with its claws. Yusuke looks in horror.

Vergil: I use the power of Yomishin- Iblis! When it is summoned, I can sacrifice its attack. Now the attack points of all Released cards are added up and dealt as damage to you.

Jupiter: Wait! SATURN had 2800, URANUS had 3500, and JUPITER had 2500. That's…8800…

Vergil: Farewell! Finish him once and for all. Breath of the End!

Dragon roars and spits fire, hitting Jupiter. He cries in pain as he is blasted through a wall outside the castle. [Jupiter LP = 0]. He gasps and closes his eyes as he falls, a door appearing under him. The whole castle begins to shake as it begins to break off the mountain.

Vergil: Objective…accomplished.

He grins as he vanishes.

Rasputin: We're done. Move out.

Yusuke cries when the mountain begins to shake. Yusuke looks up in shock as rocks begin to crumble. He slows down just as the pass shatters, separating him from Faust. All the holograms vanish as Faust slows to a stop as well.

Faust: Hmph. When your D- Wheel stops, you lose. You got lucky. But remember this, I let you live today. Next time? I won't. Our objective here is done.

Yusuke: Objective?

He and everyone else watch in horror as the castle breaks off the rocks, falling into an abyss. Everyone inside screams as they fall out of the crumbling castle, a door appearing below the castle. Dante reappears with Neo and Chimera as they look in shock. The door opens and captures the entire castle, vanishing shortly afterwards.

Koga: He…stole the entire castle.

Faust: This is just the dawn. Soon, this will be the fate of the entire world, lost in the endless darkness forever. And soon, you will join them all, Yusuke Iruiza. Once the gates are unlocked, the Yomishin will be freed.

Yusuke: They'll be…freed?

Faust: What you saw was only a fraction of my power. Next time, I will not go easy. If you truly wish to die, come to Pandemonium and try to stop us.

He vanishes into darkness as he puts his mask back on. Everyone watches as Yusuke continues to lie there.

Yusuke: I…lost? No….NOOOO!

He begins to cry as rain falls, an image of Faust appearing over him

The lights turn off. Baron looks around as Faust is outside.

Faust: I cannot allow someone to give out such precious info on my card yet.

Episode 140: The Battle Foretold Long Ago!

Vergil walks into Jupiter's throne room. He lifts his head but does not turn around.

Jupiter: So…you're the one who began this little rebellion…aren't you?

Vergil: That is correct. My name is Vergil, leader and father of the Crossed Brotherhood. And I have come to wipe you out old man.

Jupiter: Old man? Heh. Don't you have any respect for your elders? I think that is very arrogant of you. If you threaten my group…you threaten me.

He turns with a Duel Disk on his arm that slides and activates.

Jupiter: And if you threaten me, I have no choice but to wipe you from this world.

Vergil: Interesting….then bring it on old man.

His eyes turn all black as a Duel Disk appears on his arm and he draws 5 cards.

Both: Duel! [Vergil LP = 4000][Jupiter LP = 4000]

Opening

Faust continues to stare at Yusuke as he stands there with Leon and Prometheus.

Faust: So, you are him. The hero of fate, or so they say. I'm not impressed. If you ask me, you look pitifully weak.

Prometheus: Hey! Watch who you're talking to here! Who the hell are you any-!?

Faust: I wasn't talking to you. Shut it.

He glares at Prometheus. He and Leon freeze up.

Leon: What's with this guy? I usually can tell someone's aura through eye contact. But I don't get any kind of aura from him. If I could describe it…I'd say it's like looking into a bottomless pit. There's nothing but darkness in him. No way…how could someone be full of so much evil?!

Yusuke: You…are you?!

Faust: My name is Faust, otherwise known as Monkey, member of the Zodiac and high member of the Crossed Brotherhood.

Yusuke: Crossed Brotherhood?! You're with them?!

Faust: That is correct, moron. And now Yusuke Iruiza, fight me!

Yusuke: Huh?

Faust: I have been waiting for this battle. The prophecy predicted long ago said we would do battle. For us to appear here and now in the same place, well, it must be destiny running its course!

Yusuke gets in the way, releasing a powerful aura. Leon's eyes widen as Faust stares at Yusuke.

Leon: When? When did Yusuke get so powerful? His aura is almost as overpowering as that Faust person!

Faust: …Excellent. Then we will not have to waste any time. Come Yusuke! Let us battle! Our arena…the mountain pass around the castle!

Yusuke: Hold on…you want to challenge me to a Riding Duel???

Faust: I understand that is how you fight. Well, will you accept my challenge, or hide like a little wimp?

Yusuke: If you really are the one causing all of this, then I won't back down!

Faust: I thought that would be your answer. Let's go!

Darkness spreads from him and engulfs Yusuke, Leon, and Prometheus.

Brutus: I see…

Rasputin: Time to execute the final stage.

Ox: About time! I was getting bored!

Darkness spreads and engulfs Seth, Koga, Arnold, Axel, Tamika, Baron, Rika and Alicia. Dante looks around as Neo and Chimera almost fall down.

Neo: Whoa! The whole castle is rattling!

Chimera: What's going on here?!

Outside, everyone appears and looks around.

Axel: Whoa! How did we get outside?!

Tamika: Hey, where did that Dog guy go?!

Seth: Something's going on here.

Koga: Whoa, the castle is in really bad shape.

Alicia: Over there, look!

Yusuke looks around confused as he is on a D- Wheel next to Faust.

Yusuke: what just happened?

Faust: I have been waiting for this battle. As you can see, I've already taken steps for this battle! I will not let you flee now!

Yusuke: To think you went to such lengths…hey, well I denied you that right, I'll look like an a [ss]! Alright, bring it on Faust!

Faust: Let us see. Hero of Fate…let us see if you even deserve that title! Neo Speed World, set on!

D- Wheels: Duel mode. Auto-pilot standby.

Both: Duel! [Yusuke LP = 4000][Faust LP = 4000].

They both take off and start down the mountain pass as everyone watches.

Faust: You are all lucky! You get the chance to bear witness to this fated duel, foretold all those years ago! Which side will destiny choose to come out victorious? Will it allow darkness to ensnare the world, or will light shine through and bear away the evil? Yusuke! I have challenged you to a duel here and now to find an answer to that question!

Arnold: He sure is a windbag isn't he? Destiny? He's got to be kidding us.

Rika: Why duel here? Couldn't they have battled inside? I mean, isn't this just a waste of time?

Baron: Yes…it is. In fact…perhaps that is their strategy all along.

Rika: What do you mean?

Dante: Dang Vergil…I had no idea you were this determined to make your goals reality. To think you would go to such lengths.

The ship flies off as Juno looks out with worry.

Oracle: There is nothing we can do. Things will do as they will.

Juno: But does he even have a chance at winning?

Oracle: I don't know. I suppose even Fate does not know. They will have to form destiny with their own hands,

Faust: The first turn goes to me. Draw! I summon Necro Zombie in defense mode [ATK 1500/DEF 0 LV 4]. I set two cards and end my turn. Now then, let's see. Come on, attack me head on!

Yusuke: Here I go, draw! [SPC: Yusuke = 1 Faust = 1]. Sharp Edger. This can deal Piercing damage. If I attack, I'll get a big lead. But his set card…no, can't be scared now! Rasputin: Tough for you is different than tough for him. He's a fool regardless though. A warrior must never hold back on an enemy. It is such a foolish thing. He will get himself killed before long.

Faust: Here I go, draw! [SPC: Faust = 2 Yusuke = 2]. I release both monsters. Come on, Necro Colossus [ATK 3000/DEF 0 LV 8]. By negating the effects of the removed monsters, I can remove from play one card on my opponent's side of the field. I will not be able to revive Necro Zombie, but I can still remove Sharp Edger.

Yusuke: Crap!

The mouth opens, sending out sonic waves that tear the set monster apart.

Vergil: When Spell Ogre is destroyed, one Spell is added from my deck to my hand.

It punches the ground and sends Vergil flying back as he screams in pain [Vergil LP = 1200]. He hits the wall and slides down slowly.

Jupiter: How's that? Now you've felt my anger over all the things you have done? Are you going to surrender, or keep up this foolish…?

Vergil: Interesting…

He stands up grinning. Jupiter looks on in horror as darkness begins to pool from him in all directions. He looks around as it begins to surround them.

Vergil: It's been a while since I've had this much fun.

Now for the Tuner monster Dimension Dumpster [ATK 1600/DEF 200 LV 4]. Now using hi effect, I can summon one removed from play monster.

Faust: Necro Colossus, once per turn, negates a monster effect.

Yusuke: Really? Damn. Well then, I'll have to settle for this! I tune my level 4 Dimension Dumpster and level 3 Cycle Racer.

Dumpster becomes 4 rings that Racer flies through, becoming 3 stars [4 + 3 = 7]

Yusuke: Light jets into a speed that bends space and time to become power. Synchro Summon, Light-Speed Fighter [ATK 2700/DEF 2000 LV 7]. From my hand, I use Speed Spell- Speed Energy. I multiply my Speed Counters by 200 and add that total to my monster's attack points. I have 3 Speed Counters, so he gains 600 attack points [ATK 3300/DEF 2000 LV 7]. Strike down Necro Colossus! Go, Light Speed Fist!

It jets forward and punches the monster. It roars in pain and shatters as Faust rides forward [Faust LP = 3700].

Axel: Awright! One monster down!

Tamika: No…it can't be that easy.

Faust: So, this is the full extent of your power? I…am not impressed! Trap card, Hollow Chest. When a monster I control is destroyed, one card on the field is removed from play. I remove your Fighter!

Arnold: Darn it! You saw through Yusuke's play!

Koga: And now he's defenseless!

Yusuke: I was hoping that would last. Damn! Gotta hold on with this. I set a card, turn end.

Baron: It's over. For Faust to do that...

Rika: He must be planning a big move.

Faust: Here I go, draw! [SPC: Faust = 4 Yusuke = 4]. I return two monsters that have been removed from play to my graveyard. These two monsters cannot be removed from the graveyard or Special Summoned, but by returning them in this way, I can Special Summon Necro Worm [ATK 2000/DEF 0 LV 8].

Worm dives through a wormhole. Yusuke panics and looks around as it appears behind him. He turns and swerves as it clips his arm, causing a long cut to appear. Yusuke gasps in pain as blood squirts out.

Alicia: Yusuke!

Leon: Whoa! That's a deep wound!

Seth: This is bad. He'll lose a lot of blood if that bleeds freely.

Dex: He seems a lot more aggressive than usual.

Charlotte appears looking down.

Charlotte: Doesn't surprise me. After what the father said to him, I'm not surprised he's raring to go.

Yusuke rubs his shoulder and gasps as Faust rides ahead.

Faust: Prepare, Yusuke Iruiza! I will defeat you in this fight. When this duel ends…I will be the one standing at the top!

Baron: Today we'll be going over Necro Worm. This monster can be Special Summoned by returning two removed monsters to the graveyard. And whenever it battles a monster, both are removed from play. It also helps to get its chores done super-fast.
