So your not being a Fanboy? You didn't call people who use microsoft products "Dimwits" and say that there is no chance of cross platform gaming simply because of microsoft...? I guess your right... I must be a "Dimwit" because I use an Xbox360...Squeets
I said loyal fans, as in the people who time after time keep buying them.
What I don't understand is how it could be microsoft's fault... they allow games to be run with individual host for each game so that if there is a sever issue through the developer... the entire online will not be unavailable... while on the other hand... games on the PS3 each have a dedicated server that all online matches for the particular game are played off of... so if that server ever just stopped working... the entire online game would stop working as well...Squeets
Incorrect, PS3 titles have both dedicated and standard client server systems.
It is also both systems fault for the in-ability to cross-platform simply because Xbox Live and PS Network are so different in terms of online services... to allow them to connect would require extreme changes on both systems to allow a connection... there are just so many things that would need changing that it isn't even funny... Squeets
No, Sonys fine with it. Sony lets dev use any online system they want, the problem is MS forces devs to use LIVE, which is why PC devs dont want to do cross plat there as they have to use LIVE both ends. Working around Live to get it to work with other services wouldn't be easy, but trying to convince MS to let them, knowing the other side would have the advantage wouldn't go down well.

Dude take your fanboyism some place else... the guy is asking about 360/PC and all you have done is praise the PS3...Squeets
Funny, 3 separate people have already mentioned PS3/360 cross plat here.... and everything ive said is already well known common knowledge, so perhaps its time you took of your fanboi glasses and tried reading for once.

A friend of mine just got a 360. I'm a PC gamer. I know Shadowrun is basically dead, but it seems like the only other cross-platform (360 & PC) game I can find is Universe at War. So, anyone know any good games being developed that will feature PC/360 cross-compatability?

Thanks!

BewilderedRonin
While MS can get away with the LIVE charges on the 360 due to its..... loyal crowd of dimwits, devs know it wont fly on the PC. Dont expect anything to be cross platform.

No port forwarding is needed for the PS3, you just put it in the DMZ and you're done.
