@NX75 I am with you. People say Nintendo is still the best, but the best at what? many people played Pikmin for sure, but not as many who have played whatever is mainstream, be it GTA, COD, Halo, Killzone, etc. Formula needs to change. Now again, the best at what? Metroid Prime made some of the best FP adventure/shooter, better than cod, etc, but it was developed by Retro, not Nintendo. Platforming was done better by Ubisoft (way better than Mario), with Rayman, if you don't think so, they you haven't played Rayman. RPGs have been done better by everyone else. Racing, well, maybe Mario Kart has a chance among whatever. Zelda, well, it's still really cool but could definitely use some growing up and targeting a mature audience. Oh well... Their games are so uninspired. Like you said, you can come up with better ideas as you type.
@JOTLD @teufelherz Get back to this message after this: yes, Nintendo might actually make a "safe comeback" to stay alive. The 3ds is at least a couple years old (can't remember) and it is only alive because there was no handheld competition. If the Wii U is not able to make it, the 3DS will not be enough be enough with such high competition in handhelds from nvidia and tablets and even phones. In other words, the 3ds will not hold its ground against all handheld competition to make up for the failure of Wii U (if it fails) against M$ony. With such low user base and competing against Sony at $399, they will have to lower costs somehow. If the unit does not sell enough, they will be forced to absorb losses somehow. Now let's see at figures for games like GTA, COD, Battlefield, etc. They sell way more because A) they are muti-platform, B) the vast majority (as dumb as they are) prefer these games and C) They are on the platforms they want to play it on (PC or PS360), so they will sell way better than Smash bros or anything else because of installed user base for their console, And these are not coming to Wii U. The sad thing that people are doing is comparing the handheld market now to what it used to be, assuming it cans support Nintendo. The truth is, it will not be able to with such high competition and free to play being the next thing for phones and tablets. They can fire people, sure, but if Wii U does not sell, they will be forced to concentrate all that manpower on developing software for others, even a toaster or microwave oven, who every person seems to have now. Let's be real, competition is good, but in a market like this, 3 is a crowd and both Sony and Microsoft want to kill the rest while having the most appealing products. Those two will try their best to get all attention away for Nintendo knowing they are week, even if it doesn't really represent competition for them in the long run. Besides, what everybody wants is to play nintendo stuff, regardless of system and they are screwing you up way more at $300 or $350 for a console that cannot do what PS4 at $400 can. You might not like this, but it's true. And in the end, I hope Nintendo dies as a hardware maker. It is sad to let them go, even more when I gamed on their systems so much (I've gamed for over 29 years), but they're not doing it right. Whoever thinks Nintendo is the sh*t now must have grown in n64 days.
@osegura @NoDzombie If this is true, this would be better than sharing a hard copy. I would imagine then, that once you have the hard copy of the game, you also get to have a digital copy as they way you can play your games on other consoles. That would be much better than installing games on the hard drive and having to put the disc inside the box.
@NoDzombie You make a very good point. But I believe I read somewhere it is basically an extension of your account. So who knows if they will allow the same purchased game to be played at the same time in two different consoles for example. It would be really nice though. I would start adopting friends as sibblings right away.
@Red_Armadilloe @H4num4n so what you're basically saying is that scores are given because of ****'s sake? I don't get you. Review scores are not given to solve "a problem" which does not exist. On the other hand "captain obvious", of course one point matters, otherwise, why use a number to review? you just stated the obvious part on why a lot of people are happy when a game does well in reviews. "Would I want to purchase a game that scored a 2? Hell no! Would I want to show it to you? Hell no!!!!
