...He's saying this because he wants to make something other than Metal Gear games...?? No, much more likely he will simply clone yet another and tweak it a bit to make another and arguably-different hit game...
I'm sure glad they were never so bold as to say that they could or would 'stand head and shoulders "ABOVE" the rest' because it wouldn't be possible for an M game to do so unless it relinquished it's over-coveted status as champion and harbinger of filth. In terms of the movie am just about to vomit as I consider actors debasing themselves to MUCH LESS THAN gods or even mortals to enact the things that neither one would dare in the ancient Greek world, all in keeping with the insane and bottomless appetite for destruction served by the M-content of the game and what is no doubt envisioned for the film.
Why couldn't such an idea have been hatched in a different setting, not the muddy (didn't use the more colloquial and incidentally inaccurate term 'gritty') present. Even an alternate present would have been good since that might occasion a background that wasn't suited to an M-rating...OH NO! This game didn't have to have an M-rating anymore than a tire has to have a bit nasty slash! Oh well, the game just gets reduced to filth...I'll have to wait for devs who aren't freaks for a good playable psychological thriller. It's the mark of incompetence to counter the intended effect of 'thrill' with elements that deactivate the brain's capability to recoil and reel at things that are truly 'thrilling' and scary, those things being the majority of what makes the game M-rated. When are these idiots going to learn that brutality NEVER WAS and NEVER WILL BE the same as skillful emotional invocation? Not in this generation by the looks of it, if we ever see it again.
You'd think that at this point ID could maybe reach out of the same old mold, and especially transcend the zombie-plug theme...I don't hate their games like some others I could certainly name, but you wonder what else they could pull off if they tried...
Have to say that Destiny looks a bit better than Halo...mostly cause I despise Halo for not even having the guts to really take off and run with the RPG elements. It's true that it was one of the only ones, but hatred is blind and FPSs are so hateable...
The dude's face in the picture for the article is an afterthought, a capture of when it saw the procession of Minecon articles and feared for it's life.
Wow, bringing us back to this game is a slap in the face to the garbage their trying to push these days, you'd think they were trying to start a fan war...
