@zzamaro Admittedly I didn't play Okamiden, so forgive my mistake. I do recall reading a few reviews when it was released that claimed that it would give Okami players a sense of deja vu, so I gave it a pass. But you're right, it was properly a sequel. My bad.

@Lhomity As I mentioned above to @petjel , I don't have a problem with this either. I completely agree that it's a chance to introduce a good game to a new audience, and it may be one of those rare decisions in the gaming industry that's good for both business and gamer alike.

But I use the term "milking" because I don't have a more succinct term for it...and that's what it is. Trying to extract further profits from existing properties is "milking" them. I don't have a bad impression of the practice, so I'm not sure why everyone is defending it.

Like I said, I'm more upset that I can't play my PS2 Okami disc in my PS3. Capcom can release this game as many more times as they believe they can sell it. Personally, I had my fun with it, so unless I feel like milking the game (see what I did there?) for some additional PSN trophies, then I'll pass on this, but I certainly recommend it to anyone who hasn't played this creative game.

@PetJel If it were the same game ported to different systems and released within the same time frame, I would agree with you. But to re-release the game years later with motion controls, then again with touch-screen controls, and this time in HD with motion controls...I'd say you're milking that codebase.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not meaning this to be critical. Okami is a great game and the more people that get to play it the better. But I wonder if Capcom ever intends to make a proper sequel to this wonderful game or will we just see the remastered original reappear in the future on the Wii U, the XBOX 3, and the iPad 4.

Talk about milking this game. How many releases has it had so far? The original PS2 release, the Wii port (which used motion controls, of course), a DS game, and now the PS3 HD update (which will use the same motion controls as the Wii version, no doubt). And these aren't even sequels, but remakes of the same game!

The PS3 HD remix games aren't a bad idea, but it does upset me that the reason that Sony can resell these PS2 classics is because they killed the backward compatibility of the PS3. Anybody remember how they clowned Microsoft for not having BC on the XBOX 360? And now the X360's BC is better than the PS3...man, don't get me started on this again...

I suspect this developer (and others) has known this for a while but had to keep quiet while the marketing guys ran amok with their idea. These companies should know by now to keep it close to the vest until there are some screenshots, video, or even better, a playable demo before announcing your game to the press.

Never heard of this tech before. What games does it power so far?

I don't know if this will motivate anyone to join the PlayStation Plus fold, but if you're already a subscriber and you already own a Vita, this is fantastic news.

Until the game library is bigger, I'm guessing that we'll see Minis and PSOne Classics as giveaways. Hopefully they'll make more of those games compatible with the handheld system soon.

@4quarters This basically activates his PS3 as the second of two consoles on your account. That's fine if you only have one console and he only has one, but if he goes rogue and doesn't de-activate his system, it will prevent you from activating any new ones in the future (e.g. if you get a second PS3 or a PS Vita).

You only get two system activations at a time, so be careful how you use them!

I keep seeing offers for this game, but I can't seem to pull the trigger. I think it's mostly because I don't understand the gameplay or what the game is about. Based on the hype I may have to give it a try.
