So many storylines in videogames, films, and comics seem to be taking a darker, more serious tone these days. Even the title here -- A Thief's End -- sounds pretty grave. But I can't imagine an Uncharted game without Drake's trademark quips in it.
I like that previous-gen console owners will still get the chance to play this game and that Bungie didn't take an it-can't-be-done attitude toward older consoles. Sure it can be done if you're intelligent about what the player has to sacrifice. This isn't like 2005 when Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter came out on the XBOX 360 and the XBOX / PS2. That was a travesty.
Even with the reduced visual fidelity, I'm sure PS3 gamers will enjoy Destiny every bit as much as PS4 gamers will.
What's really sad is that hardware and software manufacturers have to spend so much time trying to optimize the energy consumption of their devices because lazy consumers can't be bothered to hit a power switch or turn off a monitor manually. And kudos to anyone who figures out a way to get people to stop the recycling cans for trash.
@Xenro4 My guess is that the Wii isn't doing things as efficiently as it could, not unlike the way older PCs used to just run their CPUs at full throttle all the time.
It's odd to see the PS4 getting the same derision this time around that had been previously reserved for the XONE. But I'll say it again: We console gamers have had very few games that run at 1080p and even fewer of those that run at 60 fps. So why are we acting like we've been robbed of some precious benchmark that we've never achieved anyway?
I'm just glad to see that a small developer like CD Projekt Red can find success, even competing with big boys like Bethesda. I surely thought they were doomed from the outset when they misspelled their company name and nobody even bothered to spell-check it.
