That might be the ugliest limited edition bundle ever.

Also, I still think they need to knock $100 off the Pro.

@esqueejy: Well, if my tabletop miniatures are any indication...no, I definitely can't manage a paintbrush.

I run my air conditioning at night just so I can sleep snuggled under a blanket. The Playstation 5 being more energy efficient means I can now leave all my lights on at night, too. Thanks, Sony!

I mean, sure, I guess that's nice and all, but, honestly, I'd be excited by news that the Playstation 5 will actually be green, instead of the typical black.

Sounds like Death Stranding might be what Metal Gear Survive could've been is Konami actually gave a damn. Even though I mostly hate Kojima's self-indulgent, head-up-his-own-ass storytelling, the game's concept is enough to make me want to check it out. What gives me pause, however, is the 'social gameplay' aspect and how, exactly, that will play out. Also, seeing character reputation referred to as getting 'likes' made me want to stab someone in the throat.

I give Epic credit for cranking out the free games - with a lot of them being genuinely great titles - but...if they put even half as much effort into building a decent client as they do into helping people build their game libraries, they might actually give Steam a run for their money.

@kevinicus: Studio execs don't give a damn about a movie's quality, just the money it brings in. And while you might argue, "Movies need to be good or the audience won't showing up and forking over money," the fact of the matter is that garbage movies can still rake in buttloads of cash. Just look at the Transformers movie franchise - billions of dollars generated and not one legitimately good movie in the lot.

What I'm saying is, going forward, Sony should probably just put Michael Bay in charge of Spider-man. That, or just make Spider-man a champion of communism and let the Chinese market do the rest.

@craigtl: I'd really like it to be awesome, too, and I'm definitely still going to play it. I guess I just need to trust that CDPR know what they're doing and hope that, when I finally get in there and experience the game, I feel silly for ever doubting them.

@craigtl: I'd accept that if they were making it a VR only game, where you're far more immersed in the experience because you're putting on a headset designed to somewhat block out the real world around you and lock you into a virtual world. But when, at any time, I can look away from the screen and check my phone or pet my cat, the immersion is already broken. I'm not immersed in the experience or lost in the realism of the game simply because it's first-person, so that's a pretty limp argument.

I will say, I don't know how far they pushed things with the engine and how 'real' that first-person perspective is. I haven't watched all the footage out there, so maybe they've done what other developers haven't, but I haven't seen them look down at themselves in game. Now, when I look down in real life, I can see the shirt, the pants, the shoes I'm wearing. Admittedly, it's just the front of my clothes and from that downward perspective, but I can see what I'm wearing. I can also see the rim of my glasses, because they aren't pressed right up against my face; they're in my peripheral vision. Now, if that's not possible in game, if you look down and don't see your character's chest, legs, and feet, if you can give your character glasses - eyeglasses or sunglasses - and they aren't visible in frame...well, then the whole 'it's about realism' argument doesn't hold water. (Yeah, I know you can see the character's legs when they climb into the ice bath in that cutscene, but I don't know if that's just a set camera angle for a scripted cutscene or not.) But if you can look down and see your character in a realistic fashion, while I still won't be thrilled with the first-person perspective and still probably wouldn't bother with cosmetics, I'll cut them some slack and better appreciate what they were trying to do.

@ganondorf77: Yeah...I remember how immersive Duke Nukem 3D was because I could see my character in a mirror. When I threw money at the strippers and said, "Shake it, baby," it was so damn real that I seriously expected someone to come along and drag my underage ass out of there at any moment. I take it all back; this is a brilliant move by CDPR and it will no doubt change the way people not only play but think about video games for decades to come.

So...why the hell did they spend any time or money on a character creator and cosmetic options? Who gives a f*ck that you can look at your character in the inventory screen? I'm not playing the damn game in the inventory screen! I wasn't super enthusiastic about the first-person perspective for gameplay, but with the cutscenes being first-person as well...that pretty much assures that I'll use whatever generic character option they give you at the start and I'll basically play it as a pure stats game, where I only buy/equip things that make my numbers go up. That kinda sucks.
