Thinking of getting a new Yamakazi 27'' 2560x1440p gaming monitor for my gtx 690 i5 3570k 16gb gaming pc or a Nintendo 3DS and the monitor for Xmas/Birthday for myself. What do you guys suggest for now? I do all my gaming on pc right now and am not interested in next-gen exclusives at the moment.

[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]vg248qe is the best gaming monitor 144hz is what you want There is no point buying an older gen 120hz panel, they have more input lag. I upgraded from my old vg236he 120hz panel and it's a noticeable improvement in the input lag department. The lightboost trick is stupid, don't do it. Fatal1ty and I have the same monitor and we both agree it sucks, same for zub._SKatEDiRt_

My monitor blows yours away and its bigger.

And what is it lol?

What about something like the yamakaza catleap 27'' 2560x1440p (1440p) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2RY0XD8691 or ASUS 27'' PB278Q 2560x1440p (1440p) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236294 FYI, I have a i5 3570K @ 4.35GHz, 16GB DDR3, EVGA GTX 690 4GB

I have a juicy monster gaming pc and have been using a very generic 60Hz Acer monitor, nothing wrong with it but I was thinking of upgrading since I don't need to upgrade anything else and I am kind of waiting out the next-gen console releases. Should I go for like a 27'' or 29'' monitor? If so what resolution should I be aiming for that's compatible with most games? Also should I go for that higher resolution or should I get a nice 24'' monitor with 120-144Hz and like 1ms response time, I know those things won't help and be as nice as a bigger monitor with a better resolution correct?

What do you guys think? Suggest?

[QUOTE="YoshiYogurt"]My 120 Hz monitor ain't that impressive. psymon100

Wow. That's the only time I've heard someone say that.

Are you still running the GTX560? The reason I ask is because I have a 7850 which is apparently, slightly more powerful (in BF3 at least) but I don't think my 7850 is a good enough card for 120fps gaming. Does your card normally render all 120 frames?

For one thing you have a 7850 which is a decent enough card, I have a GTX 690 dude, you know what kind of improvement that is, I can play most games on all highest settings right now except for ARMA 3 because the engine is shit.

I can live with my 60Hz 5ms monitor for now, but I wanted to get something now and then something for xmas/birthday present. Which should I pick up now then atleast? Since I'm waiting on Next-Gen for a bit.

I have a EVGA GTX 690, the best card currently available. Most games are SLi compatible especially the big AAA titles coming out like BF4, Watch Dogs, The DIvision, TItanfall too.
