I am a pretty hardcore pc gamer and was thinking of picking up a Nintendo 3DS to play some great games I haven't touched yet. But I also would like a better gaming monitor with 120Hz, (144Hz) in the one I was looking at better response time, LED and better all around then the one I have now. This is the one I am looking at. It's either a big monitor upgrade for my monster gaming PC or pickup a Nintendo 3DS for now which is less money and get a few games for it and maybe get the monitor for my xmas/birthday present.

What's the best one(s) to start with, remember I didn't really play any DS either.

Well, it's best to get a WiiU later on wen exclusive games like Bayonetta 2, Sonic Lost World and Monolith's X RPG are released. Those games, including exclusives like Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD, DKC: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World and New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U will make the WiiU a great system to own.

So, i'd wait until mid 2014, if i were you. The console is going to be cheaper to buy, and the library is going to be worth owning it. This is basically what i'm planning to do, and i think it's a good idea.

As for the 3DS.. pick up a 3DS XL as soon as you can. It not only has a fantastic library of games, but it will continue to get massive support. Also, it's backwards compatible with the DS. So yeah, definitely pick this up.
