It doesn't matter really, I prefer 9 but it's apples and oranges. You've played 7 right?

others worth checking out are 6 and 3 (Japan)

only important ones to play in order are: play tactics before 12, play 10 before 10x2 (if you play the piece of crap at all)

The P2 slim is louder than the PS3, mostly because you can hear it load so much.

I love my PS3, wouldn't trade it in for anything and can't wait for all the great stuff being churned out for it.

Lair is made by Factor 5, who have a long history of showing people they kick ass at making games. The game will ONLY appear on P3 bc Factor 5 is now Sony owned.

Lair is going to be THE game this spring.

but third party games are always lackluster (for the most part) on Nintendo consoles. You buy it for Zelda, Mario, ect. not third party games. Nintendo's games pwn enough.

man, I own a PS3... not a 360... and I would still say for this first gen of games that were ported by monkeys (EA) over to the P3... get it on 360, that's what the games were made for because EA is lazy. You're just kinda wrong.

Framerate issues = EA not putting solid dev time into games and releasing them before they're ready.

Framerate issues = 360 maxing at 60fps

Framerate = PS3 maxing at 120fps (which yes, is viewable in HD)

Framerate = Resistance.

To add a bit of history to this discussion the Playstation 2's dev kit was in response to devlopers requests. After the Playstation X and the N64 Devlopers didn't want the traditional sort of dev kit that came with consoles (AKA one where you just plug things into an existing model more or less) and wanted more of an open kit to play around in and create thier own things out of it. This is why the PS2 STILL has potential that hasn't been used. It's up to developers to unlock that potential. Also why each game plays so uniquely (for example Metal Gear to Final Fantasy to Shadow of Collosus all feel as if they could be on different systems).

After the system launched devs decided that it was too hard, Sony was confused by this considering they had just done exactly what devs wanted.

I think what they're doing with the PS3 is giving devs an open box while still guiding them through the first year or so. They want more devs to get involved with thier system and be able to make a game with ease.

I doubt it will be a game even related to SoC. It just doesn't seem like that game designers style. Considering Ico that is.

Why are 360 fanboys dropping comments on here first of all? This is a PS3 discussion. They just want any opportunity to gloat while Microsoft makes the same mistakes they did with the first ShooterBox.

Second, I'm sure Sony will adress these issues with updates. Right now they're debugging but I would guess by this summer we'll see some vast improvements to the interface.

Third, the ability to play music in game IS built into the system... just not enabled right now... for whatever reason... I read about that right after launch.

Fourth, it isn't the games you know about now that are going to make the PS3 what it will be in 2 years. Sure FF and MGS are going to be big hits, but don't forget that DMC, Onimusha, SofC, Devil Summoner, ect. ect. didn't exist before the PS2. There WILL be unexpected amazing games, Sony has done that with every system.
