Personally I think it should have gotten a 15 out of 10.

"The PS3 has more features then the 360but not one of them make the PS3 a better gaming experiance over the 360! Oh, and the only reason I'm on my second 360 is because my first one was stolen."

It doesn't matter your current one will get the red lights, in due time. PS3 is superior to the 360 in every way and you can't sit up here and tell me that built in Wi-Fi, cell processor, high storage disc media standard Hard Drive, 7 cores Great games doesn't make a bettr gaming experiance. Developers will and all ready have caught on to it. 3-4 years from now PS3 will still be standing the 360 will have a successor. And I'm willing to bet the new Flopbox will have a Blu-ray drive in it.(Or a hybrid 50 GB discs)

[QUOTE="Couth_"][QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"] I heard it was 2GB per level. And there's 10-11 levels so that sounds right.Floppy_Jim
Yeah heres what he said; "Well the 2GB thing was because it had to have all the shared assets in one place like character models, weapons and such. The game fits on a 25GB, but anything less would not have been possible" http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/02/18/killzonecom-live-qa-with-guerrilla-games/

Interesting. But considering it's from a Sony owned developer and that 25GB is nearly 4 times more than the 360 could handle, I'll take it with a grain of salt.

What about Naughty dog? (There not sony owned and they said that Uncharted, could not be done a 360 because of the 9GB max limitation.)

[QUOTE="SUD123456"]

You are horribly uninformed.

Let us examine the issue of disk space using your example of MGS4. The primary reason for the increased size is audio, not visual. This is because the cutscenes are not CGI, but generated in-engine. Unless you have 7.1 audio, a large portion of the audio size is pointless/worthless...this is in fact the case for at least 95% of all consumers. We know this because there are very few consumers who actually own the equipment where the increase in audio performance is actually real.

Regardless, let's imagine that all of the uncompressed size is needed. Congratulations, you have proven that it would require 3 or 4 disks for the 360. So what? MGS4 is a completely linear game. There is no back tracking, there is no open world, there is nothing that cannot be reproduced on a number of DVDs.

The totality of what you have proven is that disk swapping might be required for MGS4. Even that is laughable though when you consider that there are already 1-5 min installs for every chapter on the PS3. Other than the 15 secs it takes to disk change, the main cow argument is that disk swapping impedes the flow of the game. Hello, hello...but 1-5 min installs don't? I have a PS3. I have MGS4. There is nothing about that game that could not be reproduced with similar quality on the 360.

What this leaves for blu-ray and gaming is two things: the (in)convenience of disk swapping which is valid, but seemingly should be balanced against what seems to be a whole lot of PS3 mandatory installs, and disk scratching, which is a real gain. Of course, you have to balance this against the extra $100+ compared to a DVD drive.

That's it. That's all. There is nothing else magical about blu-ray WRT to gaming. It is just a storage medium. No more. No less.

PS3 has proved well enough for me that Blu-ray is needed. I know the next consoles will feature it.(Or a hybrid version of them) I know that it's for storage space but that storage if compressed would allow for larger games. sound files and visual files.

[QUOTE="lewisg1212"][QUOTE="IronBass"] Not always.ToScA-

i mean bigger games, technically wise. larger areas, more stuff, longer storys etc etc not gameplay wise

MGS4 takes up space quite dominantly due to its usage of lossless audio, and quite frankly...nothing else. Really, there's nothing in MGS4 (excluding audio) that I can't see being done on a single DVD.

Or perhaps you have better examples than MGS4? Or are you again speaking of potential?

For one thing in MGS4 you can't even tell the difference between the gameplay'sgraphics and the cut scenes. And although thee is some HD motion video in the game it's not that much. The compresion is not need for Blu-ray coding, but It imagine if developers did start compressing Blu-ray files???? DVD 9 wouldn't stand a chance.

Why is it that most everyone that has a Ps3 is really bugged that someone might have a 360 and not want a Ps3. Why dont you just keep it to your self as a little secret that you have the best and most expensive blu-ray player on the market. Quit trying to push your crap on other people if we wanted a Ps3 we would go out and buy one. I dont need anyones help to decide what to buy.;)

larryb007
I could careless if you or any other Xbot has a PS3 or not. I mean most Xbots that I know that have PS3s and like them better and end up getting rid of them after there 4th or 5th 360 dies. Bottom line is PS3 is great, it has many features that you could ask for and or will eventually want and or need. Only true PS3 owners reconize the advantages of the space of Blu-ray discs(25-50GB vs 9GB DVDs), the 7 core cell processor(vs 3 core 360 processor), built-in Wi-Fi, 7 wireless bluetooth controllers/devices. And it's quite evident that those that have not taken advantage of these don't see a point in them. But all 'm gona say is this.... Once you go black you will never go back....
