[QUOTE="themadlbb"]The people at Gamestop make the card sound very good, yet very vague, because in reality it is a huge ripoff. As the guy said, end up getting about 2% or so off of USED games. I bought an Edge card, and i will definitely not be renewing it. Gamestop does not hesitate to make a quick buck, even at the expense of a valued custumer.MxPxPunk
how is the card not a good deal? it's like $20, you get a subscription to game informer which also has 10% off coupons in them. if you buy a new release $50 game used, it's like $45. use your edge card plus the gameinformer card, 20$ off $45 comes to $36 for a new game. Your gonna pay taxes regardless if you have the edge card or not
The new releases on current gen consoles run $60. In theVERY RAREcircumstance that aGOOD new release is for sale used, it will then be $55. 10% off of $55 is 49.50. Another 10% is $44.55. OR you can just go to Hastings, where they mark their used games down $10 and buy them there, without spending the initial $20 on the Edge card. Now i will say this, if you were looking to buy a subscription to game informer anyway, then the Edge card is a good deal. If not, then dont bother with it. It is a thinly veiled gimmick that tricks you into buying everything from gamestop.
