[QUOTE="themountaindew"][QUOTE="NintendoLover00"] I'm supposed to believe the person who doesn't believe it's morally wrong to kill someone believes in God but not his rules?NintendoLover00i wasn't a christian then, i specified earlier in the thread that I just became a christian today. at around 7:30 pm EST. OBJECTION!!!! The post saying hello to your "fellow atheist" was made on the 7th when you were still an atheist yet it is "satire" now. You were making fun of your own beliefs? You did say you became a Christian tonight right???? That doesn't add up but what does is that you are a guilty of being a troll. Look, im a little confused right now, and overwhelmed. Just forget what i used to say, whats important is that im a christian now...

[QUOTE="wintermute0"]Also, what does believing in Jesus cost you? I mean, what happens if there is a HELL [which there is, just saying]. Why not abanndon science and side with Jesus? It's more logical if you think about it. If there is no Hell and you believed in Jesus during your lifetime, nothing happens after you die... if you believed in Jesus during your lifetime and there was a HELL, you don't go to hell... hmm, I bet you can guess what happens if you DIDN'T believe in Jesus during your lifetime if there was a Hell.Velocitas8
Yeah.. now I'm sure of it.
10/10.
Hes not trolling. LOOK
 No being anti God means being against God...not talking about other subjects.[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]

This is correct. I did not attend church then. I was an atheist, but I saw the light and abandon all music that wasn't Christian-like. You seem confused about my "80s goth is anti-God" stance; well, let me explain. Any music, or anything actually, that doesn't PRAISE Jesus and the Lord [who are the same person, btw] is anti-God. That's why I now only listen to Switchfoot; they are my favorite band, and their music praises God.

Um, how would you know? If a person has nothing to say about GOD, then they are ignoring GOD, and therefore are sinners. It's easy to understand.
i didn't agree with this guy at first, some of his ideas seemed out there, if you know what i mean, but ^^^this. this is the right direction. No being anti God means being against God...not talking about other subjects. youre right. but in gods eyes, directing peoples attentions away from him, no matter what it is, is against god.[QUOTE="wintermute0"]

I don't think so, because the bible contradicts alot of scientifical junk. One of 'em has just got to be wrong. Im siding with Jesus.I believe God had a guiding hand in evolution. So while I believe in God I also happen to believe that when he created the Universe he created the science within it so that he could do everything within those rules. Thus when God does things he can do it through science. It gets things done in a way that doesn't allow people to just let go of faith.

One...goth is not anti religion as you have made it out to be. Two...The Cure fits many sub genres. And as I stated the initial sound was being created....The Cure had moved away from that sound by the time it took hold. Three....I take it that you did not attend church while partaking of 80's goth music since that was your initial stance? i really dont think God likes anything even remotely associated with goth.[QUOTE="wintermute0"]
How is it misleading? That's like saying calling a rock a rock is misleading. They helped pioneer and composed goth music, you even gave a description of goth music that fit their sound. Placing something into a genre does not destroy the quality of the thing placed into that genre, some people seem to have a misconception about that... it's just a way of categorizing things. I love The Cure, they were a good band; they were a goth band. Now they're just pathetic, but that's another point all together.

There were no dinosaurs. The bible says that there were these huge beasts, but they were nowhere near the size of the dinosaurs. My preacher says, that in all probability, either (a) the scientists put the skeletons together wrong or (b) the skeletons are traps laid by satan.[QUOTE="themountaindew"][QUOTE="Pixel-Pirate"]
You....you believe we coexisted with dinosaurs?

Nah forget, you're not really serious. I can tell, it's shining through.
Just because you think what I'm saying is ridiculous does not mean I'm trolling, maybe you spend too much time on the internet.[QUOTE="themountaindew"]Science says, basically, that the Earth was formed over millions of years and humans transformed and other bullcrap, i mean thats like saying a hurricane blew through a scrapyard and made a Boeing 747. It would be a load of crap except all of that you said has been proven by, you guessed it, science. no it hasn't, the missing link? mitochondria EVE? all thats never been found.[QUOTE="clubsammich91"] How? Scientist have a theory and they experiment and find information and evidence to prove or disprove said theory. It's called the Scientific method, how is it a fairytale? clubsammich91
themountaindew, topic creator...if you are genuinely asking this question, I sincerely think you need to see a shrink. At least. As you are a philosophy student, however, I will just assume this is a hypothetical, for-the-sake-of-argument, question so I can sleep tonight
With that said, killing people is morally wrong because it is wasted potential. Most people do good things in their life, and to take that away for absolutely zero reason is just cruel.
Also, as an atheist, I find it extremely wrong for anyone to do anything that shortens or halts the life of another human being. If this is the only life we get, it needs to be as long and fun as it can be.
Fellow atheist, greetings! But why is shortening life wrong? Wasted potential? But couldnt killing them, in theory, be useful? This was in your other thread..... Its called satire...
