I am going to be getting an 60inch HDTV and I am getting the HD DVD addon for the xbox 360 to play the movies on. I was just wondering if there is anyway to burn HD movies from the disk to my computer and onto a blank disk? Is it possible with a normal DVD burner or do I need to buy a new burner and is there any software I need to look at for this?

I am contemplating whether or not to buy a new monitor. Right now I have a 17inch that plays at a max resolution of 1280-1024 and I am thinking of stepping it up to a 22inch widescreen monitor with a max res. of 1680-1050. Would there be much of a difference in image quality between the two?

I keep going over my wishlist for my new computer Ill soon be building on newegg, the only things I am having trouble on is my graphics card and monitor. I want to get a 8800GTX so i wont need to upgrade that part for a while all the while with all high settings. The only reason I am not just jumping on a GTX right away is because of my current monitor which is a 17inch LCD from dell and has a max res of only 1280-1024. If I am to get the GTX I am thinking about getting this monitor.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001096

Its max res is 1680-1050. This is obviously bigger then my current monitor, but my only problem with this would be if the GTX is being bottlenecked even at this resolution. I know its a powerful card but im just not sure HOW powerful it actually is. I dont want to spend over 500$ on a graphics card only to be using about 50-60% of its actual potential.

Thanks in advance.

Right now in my current computer I have a 250gig HD which is almost at capacity with games/movies. I am going to be transferring this storage drive to my new computer when its built within the next few weeks. My question is: Could I just unhook this drive from my current computer and hook it up in the new computer with a vista drive already installed? Or do I have to wipe ALL that data clean?

Also, could anyone enlighten me with the 64bit or 32bit vista versions? Is there a big difference between the 2?

So far I am having a blast picking new parts I want for my new PC build. Once I get all the parts that I want I will begin building but now the only 2 things I am worried about is a new monitor and some RAM. I was originally gonna just take the 2 gigs out of my current computer but I decided to just give the whole computer to my mom and leave the ram in so she doesnt have to mess around with it. Can anyone suggest a monitor. Right now I have a 17 inch monitor with the max res of 1280-1024, but I am looking to a get an upgrade because my brother just got a huge (in comparison) monitor and well.....i would like the same. I am leaning towards a widescreen and am willing to spend up to 350$.

Onto RAM. At the moment I know close to nothing about RAM other then most people prefer DD2 800 so I will probably go with that. I dont want insanely expensive RAM I am just looking for some in the ballpark of 200-250$.

Thanks for your time.

I am running out of room of my harddrive with some tv show/movies i downloaded from direct2drive.com and I would like to burn these off my harddrive and onto a DVD. I have never burned anything other then a simple cd from itunes. Can anyone recommend a good DVD burning program and what type of CD's do i look for at the store?

Ok I am getting pretty sick of Comcast lately. My internet keeps going out. When I look at my cable modem it will have all the lights solid green except for the "Online" button which just keeps blinking. I did the normal troubleshooting procedures. (unhooking all the wires and plugging them back in after 30 seconds). After I couldnt get the internet to work I called comcast and had a techy come to my house to check it out. He came and replaced the modem and said they couldnt get a signal from my old modem and everything started working perfectly again and at full speed. 3 days roll by and the same exact thing happens AGAIN. I call comcast again and they do the exact same thing. Everything works fine and then 2 days from that it does the same exact thing. Now I was reassured by the operator/techies that it couldnt POSSIBLY be the modem that is causing this, but it could be a faulty wire or something. This i find hard to believe seeing as how in between the times the internet didnt work my computer was running at full speed with no stuttering on any online games.

I am still convinced that this has something to do with a comcast component, but I cant shake the feeling it has something to do with my Utorrent client (P2P program). Whenever I leave utorrent going overnight it will only upload 1 gig exactly. In the morning I check its status and it will say about 500 mbs downloaded and 1gig uploaded. Im wondering if this internet problem is being caused by my torrent client because the internet DID NOT go out any other nights when i left my mcafee virus scan/ windows disk defrag  programs running OR if comcast has a bandwidth limit or something so when a certain amount of info goes in or out it shuts down till the next day or something. (just throwing out a guess)

BTW all the internet cables/modem/router/computer is in my room. I am the ONLY one who uses the internet in my house. I have NEVER spilled any liquid on or around any internet wires/modem.

Sooo has anyone else who uses comcast having these problems with their service?
