I am going to be building a computer soon and right now I am wondering if I should upgrade my RAM from DDR2 533 to DDR2 800. I want to have a high end computer for atleast a year and will this RAM hold back my system? I plan on OCing some components of my new computer in the near future when I get it and of course after I study how to actually OC.
If you need any more info on RAM just ask. I am using CPU-Z. and i have 2gigs of the DDR2 533
Ok I am running a 80gig (Main harddrive) with a 250gig (used for storage). I have a bunch of games installed on my computer and my friend just introduced me to uTorrent. I have been downloading movies like crazy and I had to take a few things off of my main HD and onto the storage HD. I moved a few games over to the storage HD as well. When I did this I lost my shortcuts for a game I play (Dark Ages of Camelot) so i figured I could just go into the folder and copy shortcut and thats it. When i enter my storage drive if I even hover the mouse over the Mythic icon my computer will freeze for about 20 seconds and for even longer if i keep my mouse over the icon. I thought maybe this folder is too big......but then I looked at my movies folder which has all my family pics/movies/torrent movies and it easily tops 70gigs by itself.......no freezing occurs when i open the folder or hover mouse over it. Is it just me or does this seem a little weird.
BTW the mythic folder is just under 8 gigs.
EDIT: I was wondering if it would be possible to format my storage drive so it could be the main drive and throw another 250 drive in it and take the 80gig one out? I don't have a Windows OS cd and I really dont want to buy one so could i xfer the info from main drive to the larger one?
For some reason since last week I started to have some problems with my internet.......I have NOT installed or changed ANYTHING in my computer or network setup. When I try to play online games my internet shuts off every 10 or so minutes......it seems to only happen when im playing online games because I was bored so i tried to test this. I watched my Torrent files and they never stopped downloading for a few hours straight. I logged onto diablo 2 and went LD after 10 mins.......logged into wow and went LD after 10 mins. I can't configure my router for some reason I tried doing. START->RUN->COMMAND-> type ipconfig and put the ip into internet adress......before this would take me to my router so i can configure it but now it just says error. I am on Comcast, I tried calling them and they said it should be running fine, and for the next 2 hours i was able to play online fine but then it happened again. Can anyone help me out here?
I tried resetting everything. Turning off computer and unplugging everything......still nothing.
Im planning on building a computer soon and I dont wanna buy a c2d and then a month or so later quad cores jump down in price. Can anyone tell me what month atleast they are gonna come down in price and maybe to around what pricerange exactly they will fall under?
