@emptycow @kipsta77 PCs have far more than 4gb of RAM, the norm these days is 8gb and better machines are 16gb. Not all of PS4's RAM is for games, so you're looking at 4 or 6gb max dedicated RAM for games.
But RAM is only one slice of the pie. The PS4 uses an AMD APU, which is far weaker than what an actual dedicated PC graphics card is capable of. The stuff going into the PS4 is basically what's in laptops, nowhere near as powerful as a true gaming PC.
The PS4 is powerful, but saying it's more powerful than a PC is a joke.
@Trickymaster Just because the CPUs are the same architecture doesn't mean you can ignore all the other aspects of console vs pc differences. Ignoring the fact that console hardware is not designed for multitasking, CPU intensive tasks, etc., the software architectures are completely different. PlayStation and Nintendo systems use heavily modified versions of the OpenGL framework. Many PC games no longer support OpenGL and use Microsoft's DirectX instead. One of the reasons developers like the Xbox so much is because it uses DirectX, making development with Windows PCs and porting to/from Windows PCs a breeze. Since Microsoft owns DirectX and Windows, Nintendo and Sony are at a severe and rather unfair disadvantage when it comes to third-party support.
I honestly don't understand why people pay for this when Steam, PSN, and now Wii U are all free to play online. I am only thankful that none of these companies followed Microsoft's footsteps into this horrible practice.
@danjin44 "Atlus, the company behind 2011's puzzle platforming adventure Catherine and the Persona series, has unveiled a new project titled God Mode."Notice how the sentence doesn't say anything about the Persona team developing God Mode, only that Atlus published Persona.
I am a very proud owner of the Vita but I too found Liberation to be flawed. Although the game is still good, tinny audio, bad frame-rate, inconsistent graphics, and meh voice acting bring it down. Still a great game and definitely recommend people to pick it up.
