Edge uses the full scale. So all those games apart from mirrors edge are above averageMarloStanfield
Unfortunately, many North Americans fails to see this and impose their American rating standards. Gamerankings.com is guilty as well. EDGE is a British magazine, not an American magazine. It uses a different standard of rating games than American publications. The dismissal of EDGE's scores shows the ignorance of those who do so, eps. since most of them never read the written reviews.

Sony last, but don't worry Cows, you could add up all the PlayStation pruducts.EuroMafia
Even so, they will not beat even the Wii which sold more units than all the PS2, PS3, and PSP combined.

-cnc-, can you pull out the Nintendo DS NPD sales figures for 2007 and 2008? I would like to see whether it is time for Nintendo of America to bring the DSi to North America.

It seems that Nintendo's systems (Wii and DS) have sold more than all the Microsoft and Sony systems combined. It is also interesting that the Wii was within 86,000 units from selling previously mentioned systems combined, and have sold more units that the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 3 combined (this excludes the PlayStation Portable). Nearly seven months latter, Mario Kart Wii is still in the NPD charts.

Even though most here will not mention it for some reason, but for a title intended for female gamers, Wagamama Fashion Girl's Mode is selling well. It was quite a surprise to see this title at the top of the Japanese software sales chart a few weeks back, and it is still in the top 10. Very nice to see Mario Kart Wii still in the top 30 even though it has been in the Japanese market since early April---seven months!

[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]I don't have a clue who Adam Sessler is. But he's probably right.Oroin

he's from xplay on g4, heard of it?  Anyway I haven't watched the show in a while, did he review the game tales of symphonia on the wii? I'm planning on getting it.

Not every poster on System Wars lives in North America.

After the 38/40 it got in Famitsu I pre purchased it off of amazon at reduced price. And I have said once, I will say it many a times, OXM is the worst reviewer people care aboutCouth_
Have you ever read the English translation on what the four Famitsu reviewers said about this game before pre-ordering it off Amazon.com? There is more to the 38/40 Famitsu review other than the score.

It is no better than saying that it is Hollywood's fault for having bad films or the United States having so many obese people? Why are people concern on things they are not forced to buy and can easily avoid? Why concern over something that is just a diversion and not one's bread and butter? As for me, the mediocre games can be avoided, and I simply ignore them. That is why I mostly support 1st party Nintendo games as they have a solid track record.

they friggin rate everything in the 30's so whatever-- talk to the hand.Lyphe2k
It is usually the high-profile Japanese or Western games that get the 30's or high 20's scores, even games that received low scores in the West (Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 and Blue Dragon). The Japan-only games seem to get the low scores.
