Here are the rules for the gaming world...

PC games, American and European devs rule the roost, with some exceptions like Aion online and PSO.

Console games, the Japanese own the console world, with some exceptions of course.

Where is the Wii?

savebattery

This is System Wars, where the Wii is not "hardcore" enough to be mentioned with the other two consoles. Because, you know, you and I are such casuals with our Wiis.

So true, it seems as though most of the "Hardcore" gamers are teenagers and under 21 adults that attempt to prove their maturity by playing God of War, Halo and COD Black Ops..... LOL

My stepsons had a 360 when I first met their mom, I built them a modest gaming rig and now they think its blasphemy to play a FPS with a console controller, now they call the PS3 and 360 "Watered down gaming PC's"

Needless to say I bought us a Red Wii for this Christmas along with the Zelda, Donkey Kong and Metroid Prime Trilogy, guess we're gonna have to endure playing our "Casual" games after Christmas.

I also love it when these youngsters rave about Xbox Live and Online play like it is something that is only a few years old, they don't realize that us old timers were playing Quake Deathmatches and CTF way back in 96.

Graphics won't make as big a leap for MS and Sony next gen... But they don't have to

1. Nintendo will make the largest graphic jump next gen "Because they have to" their next system will be very modest and prob around the performance of the 360 or just a little better, their next system will also have a HDD.

2. Microsoft will release a very modest system with a slight bump in graphic performance, they also have to address initial cost and reliability.

3. Sony will release a much, much more modest console next time around, they have learned the hard way that 500 dollar consoles don't work.

All 3 companies will innovate in their motion controls AND digital distribution, both Microsoft and Sony won't let Nintendo beat them so badly on price out of the gate, they will all fairly cost the same and generally have similar graphic capabilities.

All 3 consoles will release in a still bad economy and i'm gonna go on record to say they all debut at 250.00.

As far as I'm concerned there don't need to be. I want to see subtle, limited integration in mainstream games (when it's appropriate and doesn't feel shoehorned in). Really I just like it for being an HD Wii at this point and that's enough for the first year.

Thats cool BUT as we have seen on the Wii, most 3rd party developers have not utilized motion controls very well, it's mostly been 1st party Wii titles that have used motion controls to the fullest yet, and lets face the facts neither Sony or Microsoft's first party houses hold a candle to Nintendo's software development houses.

that is definetely true in the case of MS but not so much the case for SONY. The nintendo IPs that are best suited for the motion controls (Metroid, mario cart etc) are good games with good motion controls.

The PS3 and 360 exist off 3rd party titles, neither company has the talent or firepower to carry a console all on it's own.

Nintendo can carry it's own consoles, both home and portable with in house software alone.

[QUOTE="nintendo-4life"]The darkness? Brutal legend? Singularity? SC4? i'm sorry but ALOT of those titles just aren't that strong. You still do have a point though.15strong

But some of the so called "high quality" games for wii that some how make it on to end of the year bragging lists don't even compete with those. Game like sonic colors, wii party, and endless ocean are used as ownage. A lot of the multiplat titles might not be the strongest, but they are still on a level above many wii games.

Nintendo IS Console gaming...

If one has a halfway decent PC, there simply isn't a point to the 360 and PS3.

I guess that i segment gaming into categories.. PC for FPS, RTS and MMO, Nintendo for console games...

Whereas Nintendo sets standards and innovates with it's hardware and highest quality games, the PS3 and 360 are PC light.

I bought the new Red Mario Wii when it was released, it's a family Christmas present. Myself and step sons are mainly PC gamers but if we get a console, it is always Nintendo.

The Move was bought by 1 in 10 PlayStation Users. That's crazy impressive for just 90 days. And whoever up there thought the PS3 is still overpriced should try getting a job.

There will still be very, very few move or Kinect specific games.
