Are you installing it directly from the Windows Update application or is it from the redistribution version?
I wouldn't warry about it to much, but ill explain the most common reasons.
1. The major culprit is the fact that hard drive manufactures calculate the HDD space differently then the OS.
2. Some file systems require extra space for what ever reasons. In turn removing the space taken from the final free space calculation.
3. The Operating System needs some space for its kernal(core) files. Sometimes its factored in to the final space cost and other times it isn't.
Extremes have an unlocked multiplyer. So you can increase it. Where non Extreme version you can only go down.9mmSpliff
Wow, I'm surprised you are the first one to know what the difference is. That goes to show that Intels marketing for those chips isn't very good.
The answer is simple. Power cycle both your router and cable or dsl modem. The modem keeps track of the last MAC address of the device connected to it, in this case, your old router. You have to flush the MAC address from the modem, by powering it off, waiting 30 seconds, power it on, wait untill the lights become solid and then power on your router. Your new router will now be connected to the modem. If your modem has batteries in it (some do), remove them too.fib112
