[QUOTE="Kamekazi_69"][QUOTE="ferret-gamer"][QUOTE="Kamekazi_69"][QUOTE="RayvinAzn"][QUOTE="Kamekazi_69"] Its not only a concern but come on, $1200 dollars for a CPU? what are they smoking. I can agree in terms that Intel is favored more for its quality and performance but thats just ridiculous. Money hungry Corporates, ugh. If I am ot get a new PC, yes I am spending over $1000 on it and I am more favorable for Intel, but thats just completely stupid on their sideferret-gamer
You must be new to the computer scene. Don't remember the Athlon FX seies? AMD had plenty of $1000 chips in its time on top. Yes, $1200 is absurd for a processor for home use, but Intel isn't the only one that has charged that much in the past. Both companies have done this and most likely will continue doing it. If AMD gets back on top, you can bet your last dollar you'll see them do it again.
But your comparison is stupid. Intel makes a $1200 processor, so they're all expensive, is that your argument? Honda makes F1 cars that cost half a million, so they must all be expensive too, right? Look at price-performance ratios, don't just pick the most expensive processor from each companies lineup and start crying.
Ok Im giving an opinion, im not demanding for Intel to change their prices. You are talking to an 18 year old in college earning minimum wage so yes price is my argument. If I think its expensive, ill simply not buy it, so I dont see what you are calling stupid. Yes I am aiming for a top Quality PC and I already have layed aside money for a $400 Animation Program on student discount and I top quality Nvidia card. This is a PC that will say with me for 4 or 5 years so I must have a good top performing machine. I'm using the software for college purposes and the card to increase speed and to play once in awhile. But I'm becoming skeptic about the situation and considering a Mac instead is a possibility., but I want to also see what PC offers oh you need a core 2 quad Q9550. it offers great quad core performance that will last a while and is $300. Also you might want to wait for the i7Hmm interesting. When will the i7 be available?
very soon in the next couple of months. the i7 ranges for one to 8 cores in the processors, and are better for tasks like editing and calculatiing than for games( but still good for hem) so the $1500 core 2 quad will still be better at games than the i7There will be no 8 core i7 for the desktop consumer market.
that system requirements lab site isnt very accurate. when they put the score for the speed on my dual-core processor they rated it at 4.2ghz and i only have a 2ghz processor. as someone said above dont use the requirements lab.erikgergal
Well it seems obvious to me that they were tyring to compare old processors as far back as the 90s, to more modern processors. In other words: They will rate a Pentium III 3.0Ghz as a Rating of 3.0 GHz. A Core 2 can be rated as anywhere from 5.0Ghz to 7.0Ghz.
Give them a break there just trying to make it easier to understand, espesially to those people that need it the most.
LOL..........pics or it didn't happen :P I disable System restore so meh...........X360PS3AMD05Same... I switched off System Restore en-favor of complete OS backup.
