@Godendag @timoteo2k1 - lol, actually I was referring to a specific instance. a friend of mine who lives in Brisbane dropped a couch on his hand and was experiencing numbness and pain, when he went to the NHHK (I think he called it)- 11 weeks for an MRI. luckily he did have American style private ins so when he thought to use it, same day. BTW, if he'd waited the 11 weeks for the good ol' socialists to get around to treating him of would have caused permanent damage. The "8 weeks" number was generic.

But it's a fact according to your own health service elective surgery can take a year's wait, knee surgery can take 3 months and the govt considers treating anything that's not critical care in a timeframe somewhere between 90 days and " sometime in the future" as optimal- according to the MJA (Medical Journal of Australia).

Meanwhile; in the state I live in we have a hospital district system, so anyone legitimately poor without ins can go into the same hospital as a wealthy man, get same day, identical treatment to that wealthy man and have it paid for by a local tax on landowners.

@Godendag Lol @ the idiot who doesn't know he's already paying much more than 10 dollars for an aspirin because it's hidden in his taxes... that's if the rationing board deems he's worthy of it and he's not too far back in the line and they're all gone.

Talk about ten dollar aspirins all you want, there's a reason why there's 10X as many high tech medical machines in an American city of 3 million as there is in a nation of socialized medicine of 30 million. You can get a life saving CAT scan or MRI in an hour in the US while if you manage to hit the front of the line after 8-16 weeks you can get one as well... on your corpse.

good lord this is a fantastic game, who cares what a reviewer says at this point, I'm 80% of the way through and it is easily in my top 5 games of all time.

BTW, does not hurt that the game starts like 15mins from my house.
