I really don't care if the new XBOX is a "compelling device". At the end of the day it is all about the games for me and when it comes to having a solid games library, Playstation wins. So once again, I will be getting the new Playstation.
@vihazur @tonymoise Well their you go. The problem is the consumer...they keep eating up all the crap they feed us so they are just gonna make more crap to feed us.
I didn't buy the game either. I am not trying to convince people to stop buying the game, was simple stating the best solution to the problem...hurt their pockets and maybe they will start listening to their fanbase.
The bottom line is many fans of the Simcity franchise knew that this was going to be an "always online" game. If these fans were upset with Maxis/EA for not including an offline mode they should not have bought the game.
Gamers need to start really putting presure on companys like EA buy simple not buying their products and publicly saying that they didn't and why. Hurting EA's bottom line is the best way to get their attention. If the launch sales for the game were really bad and Maxis/EA saw that the masses weren't buying the new SimCity because of the lack of an offline mode I can garantee they would Change their VISION.
This is why I think the game should have been offline capable. Why can't I just get on SimCity and start building. What if I don't want all this connectivity stuff.
@DJMist First of all there was no real need to show the actual console when we all know what's inside it. I think the actual unveiling of the console itself will be at E3. We know the specs, and a fair amount of the consoles capabilities. Sony was simply giving us a taste...can't argue with that.
Secondly, the control is NOT the same. The general design of the DualShock may be there but there are a few small but big changes. The SELECT and START buttons are gone. And that tiny screen you mentioned is actually a touch pad. There is a new SHARE button and the shoulder triggers have been tweeked.
And Finally, The GAMES. For this event Sony didn't have to showcase EVERYONE and EA and Rockstar not being at the event doesn't mean they will not be developing games for the console. Sony has always had a strong Exclusive games library so saying they are in deep shit now is not logical. EA Games is right there in the picture of all the studios so no need to panic. Sony's games library is probably the strongest and I doubt that will change with PS4.
@TohouAsura The PS4 is a gaming console....end of story. All the goodies inside are just like a PC...blah, blah, blah...but it falls into the category of Gaming Console.
@Kunasha @tonymoise Is the Playstation 4 for a gaming console? YES or NO? The hardware inside is very similar to the hardware of a PC but at the end of the day it's a gaming console....it's a Playstation.
@wexorian @tonymoise PC tech is moving way too fast for a console company to consider keeping up with current PC's. I am happy with what Sony has done so far. It is one reason I like consoles...cost of the machine.
