If we're just talking about smoking cigs, then drinking is not as bad. Marijuana, on the other hand, is much safer than drinking. Drinking makes you aggressive and uninhibited, smoking weed makes you calm and thoughtful (though maybe a little giggly as well).

Honestly, I wish they would just legalize it already. I guarantee there would be less alcohol-related tragedies, and a negligible amount of marijuana-related tragedies.

Sorry but its kinda kiddy, at least now that i saw Flower of Flesh and Blood at a friends yesterday.

Imagine every single gory internet video, now multiply it by 100. Its not even close.

Heard of that one, along with the other Guinea Pig "movies" from Japan. There's actually a "making-of" video where you can see how they did all of the gore effects. Yeah, there was a brief period in my life when I was really interested in exploitation films, but only because I was a film buff, not because I'm a fan of excessive movie gore.

[QUOTE="GrandJury"]

Funny thing is, this movie came out over 25 years ago yet it has better graphic parts than most movies today. I will give you a quick run down of what to expect if you want to watch it. The movie has...

  • Detailed rape scenes
  • Detailed animal killing-Especially the turtle, and yes I do believe they are real animals
  • Lots of jungle
  • full frontly nudity, males and females
  • more rape
  • Detailed cannibalism
  • body hacking
  • bloody rituals....That involve rocks, mud, and a very unlucky woman
  • more cannibalsm

I liked the movie, it is not the best film I've seen but probably one of my favs from that time era. Here is a link to the movie if you want to check it out. Google video had the whole thing up. Linky for the curious.

DEVILinIRON

Now I have no excuse. I'm gonna smoke and then watch it. Thanks for the link.

Come on now, it doesn't count if if you watch it in abysmal Google video quality. This is, after all, a movie that came out in 1980, meaning that theatrical viewing is all they had in mind. Rent the DVD or something.

Anyway, there was a time when I was very intrigued by this movie. I even tried to get some friends to watch it with me. But then I realized it was just because of the gorgeous and chillingly ironic theme song that I wanted to watch the movie. The rest of the soundtrack (the bits and pieces that I heard, anyway) also sounded great; I'm a sucker for creepy synth soundtracks like the one for The Terminator. But any movie that has to resort to killing live animals for the purpose of shock value is not worth my time (I am a vegetarian). In fact, all you ever hear about from people who watch this movie is about how horrific the animal killings are.

I'm all for campy b-movie exploitation, but Cannibal Holocaust doesn't sound like such a good time.

This response is two years late, but I got one because I play videogames on my computer monitor.

On a slightly unrelated note, I started playing Arkham Asylum today (for the first time), and Batman seems to be really dry and humorless. Is this just a case of bad script and voice-acting, or is he really like that in the comics? Because in the movies, he seemed to be less of a square.

i always find it funny how PC gaming is so expensive yet nobody ever mentions having to buy a $2000 hdtv so you get can HD resolutions out of your HD consoles

why do people always gloss over the cost of the tv? sure you use it for other things than gaming, guess what you use PC's for a lot more than gaming as well, and even then you still won't reach the astronomical costs of being a member of the HDTV gaming club

As others have mentioned, you don't need a $2000 hdtv to get HD resolutions, or even to see the increase in detail that you get from HD resolutions. Heck, on my 15-inch widescreen laptop, I can easily tell the difference between a PC game running at a 480p-equivalent resolution and a PC game running at a 720p-equivalent resolution. What makes you think that console games are any different? As long as the distance your eyes are from the screen is proportional to the screen size, you get a significant boost in detail and clarity from HD resolutions. I play my PS3 games on a 22-inch PC monitor, using a HDMI-to-DVI adapter. Hardly a $2000 investment.
