@wiiboxstation: yes the challenges are great, too bad about the technical problems tho, that still bug the game down to this day
trollhunter2's forum posts
1. BOTW
2. Wind Waker (screw the hate, such a magical game)
3. Twilight Princess/Ocarina of Time/ Majoras Mask(cant decide)
4. Skyward Sword
5. Phantom hourglass
You can literally taste the salt in the review. No way does witcher 3 do the open world better, maybe storywise, but openness, the way you approach quests, the sheer freedom of movement and sandbox like interactivity, the combat etc are not even close to botw. Haven't played HZD yet
Immersive sim is accurate, one of the most mechanically playful, interactive open world ever made. So many little details while maintaining tight controls wow, hats off
I love how actual climbing is challenging and rewarding in the game. I hope the next uncharted follows suit, cause this is how you make climbing fun and rewarding, not the auto climb bullshit. It got better in U4 but it's still not quite there. Also f*ck the rain in this game lol
@Vaasman: I think the Zelda charm is also what helps make the world more appealing to me. The world is kinda like a surprise egg, you never know what to expect in the next corner, tree, hill or sliding down a mountain. Its also so damn interactive. Its a playground where you experiment your abilities, for example you see a hill and wondet if you can slide down with your shield and find new pathways to claim with your glider. Its so mechanical and I've never felt that a game allowed me to experiment with the possibilities this much, it's truly a welcome change of pace (especially regarding open worlds)
@BassMan: yes I've played a bit of Witcher 3, I played skyrim, i played rdr(fantastic game btw) and yep botw is still the best game I've ever played. It's truly open, it's the little touches that makes it stand out. I also love how subtile it is in it's storyline (some characters/travellers give vague description about events that take place in the world, which lead to hidden fantastic boss battles you won't expect cause how subtile they are.) It feels like a playground made for you, without unnecessary text or constant waypoint pop ups (again to do lists) that harm my immersion. The actual controls, physics, and combat in this game is also way above thise games, which is the icing on the cake
