PC GAME OF THE YEAR

  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • Mushihime-sama (Bug Princess)
  • Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
  • Rocket League
  • Undertale

PS4 GAME OF THE YEAR

  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • Mortal Kombat X

That's all I got from a bit of quick thinking. I'm sure there's plenty more but many of games I wanted to add were actually released in 2014...

Those are LEVELS. You "Level up", like in an RPG. There's only chapters in the story for the non-DLC characters. So 10 chapters (10 characters).

You gain XP (experience points) by fighting (single player, local versus or online). You can use them to unlock stuff like costumes, cards and other
fun stuff.

If you want more "story", play the regular Battle-mode (aka Arcade Mode), there's an ending for each character, but those are completely different from the main story and "non-canon" meaning they aren't technically what happened, just an alternate thing if for example The Joker won out of all the heroes/villains.

The new MK is actually one of the best & most legit fighting games made in the recent years. So people who go "MK is good but not as in-depth as blah blah", clearly haven't been paying attention, and just repeat what they've heard being said about the previous games in the franchise - which really were god-awful. MK9 is one of the main games in this years EVOlution fighting game tournament in Las Vegas, and that in itself is one hell of an accomplishment. EVO has huge $$$ prices and is one of the biggest video game tournaments on the planet. They don't just approve any fighting game in there, it needs to be proven tournament-valid. People were unsure whether MK would still be good enough to get a 2nd year in EVO, but it did. It's a fricking awesome and solid game, you really can't compare it with the previous entries. It's a wholly different beast. http://www.rokthereaper.com/2012/01/evolution-2012-list-of-major.html

Why do I forsee a very low number for it on GS? :?

Which will mean the game will be great for people who like the premise and gameplay. I'm sensing a cult-hit status like Yakuza/Ryuu Ga Gotoku. It's on my TOP5 games to buy next.

"HD" is just a marketing term related to TV's. We played PC games in the 1990's with the same resolution as most console games run right now (slightly above or under 720p). Still, it doesn't matter to me that the MGS HD -collection I just bought has MGS2 running at the same resolution & graphics as the "regular" Windows PC port of the game from 2001 (720p). To me it's just a way to play MGS2 on PS3. But (slightly off-topic), I mainly bought the collection for MGS: Peace Walker, which is absolutely mindblowingly super-sexy awesome, and totally surpassed my expectations. Best game I've played in a long while!!! It's like a mix of oldschool tactical strategy games like XCOM and MGS3-4. I'm so in love with that game, everyone should play it. Definately for both oldschool "hardcore" PC gamers (with it's mother/home-base management) and casual fans of third person shooting.

Microsoft did the same thing with the SO-called "Xbox360 Controller for Windows PC", it's the exact same controller (but costs MORE?!!), with Windows XP-driver disc. My friend knew better than me back in the day when I was buying one and just said, "if you buy a regular 360-controller and plug it in as you have Vista (now I have W7) it will automatically recognize it as the "PC-controller"... And he was right... My Windows said "Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller *for PC* - installed and ready to use"... Ridiculous!! >:(

What else is there to say, honestly..? You're not much of a genious for predicting that, and I think that's why you posted this, knowing it would get this reaction.

I use a 360 controller usually for 3rd person adventures or action/shooters. Or racers (I'll buy a racing wheel soon though). For fighting games I either use my Hori Fighting Stick or a PS2-controller. Latest examples for games which I use an Xbox 360 controller: La Noire (it's easier to drive, the vibration helps with searching for clues etc.), Warhammer 40.000: Spacemarines (it's a mix of shooting and hack'n'slash, so it's easier to do all those crazy moves/combos then switch weapons with the controller). Also, with any indie arcade titles on PC (like Shank, Super Meat Boy, Jamestown etc...) I use a controller or arcade stick. Sometimes I play a game with both mouse & keyboard and a controller, like the GTA -series. And Mass Effect 2 is brilliant with mouse and keyboard even though it fits in with my 3rd person adventure/action/rpg -thing. The Witcher 2; I also use KB&M most of the time.

Arkham City... La Noire 2nd, I own both, LA:Noire is very badly optimized and load times are excruciating. It's a brilliant game for fans on Detective/Homicide/Film Noir -fans. Arkham City's main story and sidequest are E-P-I-C. All missions("cases") in LA Noire take 1-3 hours to complete, and if you quit you start at the beginning. Batman autosaves all the time so you're free to quit any time...

Hmm... that IS strange. The game DOES take a while to start sometimes, but when it starts, it runs no problems (I've played for hours straight). The only thing I can recommend is the basic "update your graphics drivers from ATi/AMD -website", and make sure you have allowed the game and social club on your Firewall.
