Because despite fighting for the wrong team, he was actually a pretty cool guy and was beloved by the soldiers in both armies during the American Civil War. Lincoln offered him the command of the entire Union Army, but Lee didn't want to fight against his fellow Virginians. If he had fought for the Union, it's very likely we would have a national holiday for him too. But he didn't, so we don't.

The teacher I have this year is awful. The guy is loud and waves his arms around frantically when he teaches, and has a problem with our comprehension. He doesn't understand that this thing he can do with relative ease is like a new language to us, and he is visibly angry and frustrated when we don't understand. He purposefully gives vague answers to questions, and doesn't solve the problems he gives us before assigning them. This is a problem because for the past 12 years, I have been taught that when I get a fraction for an answer, it's wrong. Now it's suddenly OK. It's unnerving and it makes me check and recheck my work and question what I did when nothing was done wrong. That and his voice is whiny and high-pitched. Otherwise, my math teachers have been pretty good.

Nothing like being wrong in a way you could have corrected with some research, but in this case you're wrong in a way that you could have avoided by just reading the thread. Congrats!

That article deals with American society. America has not been around for thousands of years. Believe it or not, cultures from thousands of years ago associated pink with women, and even blue with boys. It's not an American thing. I'd love to provide a link, but I got this from a book which I do not have anymore. Sorry for that. And please, drop the smug attitude. It's not helping anyone, especially you.

hell if I know. I usually go by bullettime whenever I need a screen name. Bullettime is the nickname for the slow-motion sequences in The Matrix. Seriously, where did I get my name? I gotta figure this out.

Me. They are so terribly boring. That and the vocals, whether they be screaming or that boy-band stuff sound awful.

The Count of Monte Cristo. Considering its length, that might be the only book for the year. Still, it's a badass book.

[QUOTE="Planet_Pluto"]

I guess taste is different for all people, but I think it looks like crap.

Reminds me of Han Solo after Jaba the Hut froze his arse.

GreySeal9

I don't know if I'd go as far as to call it crap, but it does rub me the wrong way for some reason.

Same for me. I don't care who made it, but this statue doesn't really do it for me. He should look more friendly I think. Stop crossing those arms and open them up in a big hug.
