2000 Profile views! Yesh!

Hey, I'm happy! I finally got over 2000 profile views! A good milestone. It went up by 200 something in only about 2 days, wow. Now, what I really want is that damn serious collector emblem. I currently have 196 games in my collection, and I'm guessing that it's 200 games for the badge. If I'm wrong, then here is my question....

HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR BADGE?!

Someone please answer that for me?

Collection Show-Off #5: Wii

Here is my Wii collection. Not as many pictures as usual. Sorry I havn't done one for a while.

That's right, that Wii stand is glowing.

Full Wii game collection

My pride and joy of my all my collectables. Only 7 thousand of these things made worldwide. A one sixth scale model of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield from Twilght Princess. Official Nintendo Product.

Happy (late) Birthday, Dear Ethan!

Hey guys, I forgot to post this a few days ago, but it was my birthday on May 25. Yeah, like 10 days ago or something, but whatever, at least I'm getting around to mentioning it before any later. I'll be posting another collection tomorrow night, by the way. Anyway, later.

Collection Show-Off #4: Nintendo 64

For the 4th installement of my collection showing, I decided to do my rather unimpressive N64 collection. This is mainly becasue it was not my primary system as a child. I was a PS1 kid of my generation. Enjoy.

Damn you N64 carts with your no end labels...

Collection Show-Off #3: PS2

Yup, so here is my PS2 collection. Third installment of my collection. Tomorrow, possibly PC or N64. Enjoy! Oh, please note, all of the strategy guides I have ever bought have been bought after I complete the game. Seriously. If I like a game, I really like to get everything, and a guide helps. Plus you don't feel that guilty.

That blue controlller is actually a PS1 dual shock controller. I remember I had to get it to play the original Ape Escape when I got it way back when, haha... Wait... Maybe I should have shown it when I show my PS collection... I'll just show it again then.

Uhh...Cat

Collection Show-off #1: Handhelds

Hey guys, so today I'll be starting a little series that I'll do for all my consoles where I'll just show all the things I have for that console in pictures. Today I'll be starting with my handheld collection. Enjoy the pics! I'll keep posting consoles day by day.

Wii: A DS Story

Ok, so lately, I've been seeing quite a few things saying that Wii doesn't have enough exclusive games, and that it is just living as a gimmick at the moment. You know what the strange thing is though? Everyone I've seen who says these things doesn't have any of the great games that have been released for it. I'm not going to name any names, cause then I'll get blammed like crazy, so none of that, but let me just get my point across.

So, the latest Nintendo published exclusive for the Wii was Super Paper Mario. Amazing game. Classic Mario gameplay, with a few twists thrown in here and there such as RPG elements and flipping from side-scrolling to 3D. The thing is, whenever I see someone bashing the Wii, they don't even own this game. Nevermind this game, but any other great games on the Wii. One of the best quotes I've heard is this, "Once you finish Zelda, and the sort of Zelda high wears off, you aren't left with much else." This is funny because I have seen his full Wii collection (no, he's not from Gamespot, and you could never guess who it is, he's not well known or anything). Guess what game/s his collection consists of? Zelda: Twilight Princess... Are you expecting anymore? Well guess what, there aren't any. How could he say that if he doesn't have any others? You know what he should have said? Once that Zelda high wears off, you move onto Elebits. Or maybe you wanna play some Raving Rabbids. Then WarioWare. See my point? My point to this guy is (you're a real funny guy in your videos and everything, but come on, dude)... TRY SOME DAMN GAMES!!

Don't get me wrong, Zelda will get you "high" for quite some time, but after that there isn't anything quiiiite as good as it... Until Paper Mario came out, which is awesome. In the first place, I bought Wii innitially to get my hands on Zelda for the first time. Great. After completing that though, I'm treated to other awesome games on it. One other highly note worthy game would be WarioWare cause its insane, and damn fun. Elebits, also very good. Raving Rabbids, cool. Yeah, sure, there is Wii Sports, but I really thought that game was shallow, and didn't hold my interest for long at all. Which makes it so great that it was a pack in!

On top of these great Wii exclusives, a ton more are on the way. Now, immediately, when you hear me say that, you just think "Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros., and Corruption. Ok, that's not a ton" But how very far off you are, my friends. There are actually 45 Nintendo Developed Wii exclusives currently being made. 45!! Count em'! 45!! That is friggin' incredible. I remember when I saw the headline on Gamespot like 2 weeks ago, and I had never expected any number near that. 45!! Sure, those are Nintendo Developed Wii exclusives, but there are also quite a few exciting 3rd party titles on the way. Most notably for me, NiGHTS 2. Didn't think that would ever be possible, huh? There are also 79 Nintendo Devoloped DS games being made right now! Which brings us to the title of this blog.

Remember when the DS first came out? There was like Mario 64, and...ummm... Feel The Magic XX/XY, or whatever? Yeah, that was all I had when I first got mine in Xmas of '04. That was all I had for months. Then, E3 '05 rolls around. The DS is BOOMING with awesome games there, many of them due out for that year. I remember seeing Nintendogs for the first time and thinking, "That game is gonna explode..." With popularity of course, I meant. There was Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Kirby, Castlevania. It was incredible. Then, all these games just come out in MASS. Just one right after another. Until then, DS was under some sort of dry spell. It was left dusty in you bedroom corner until these games came out. When they did come out though, the DS console itself just exploded with popularity suddenly, and everyone wanted one. That shows now with it, as I hear you can barely even find a DS lite anywhere. Anyway, do you see where I'm going with all this? That same thing is about to happen with the Wii!! Have you seen the Nintendo developed game list confirmed for release this year on the Wii? Nevermind the Wii selling like hotcakes as it is right now, with all these games coming out in mass this year like they did on the DS in 2005, this could be an amazing success. I think the Wii will now have its chance to TRULY explode even further than it already has. I could post the list, but this blog is already rediculously long as it is, and I don't wanna add a whole other 13 lines to show the game list. Wait till the end of this year, it will be crazy to say the least.

Traumatized...

Yesterday, I was forever scarred by the sight of Ebay right in front of my face. Ebay, basically materialized, right in front of me. I'm talking about a store a few towns away from where I live that is basically my dream world... And it actually traumatized me. I'm scarred.

The place I saw, entered and looked around was a store called the Video Game Exchange, and it is incredible. They are a store that buys old games from people, and sells them. This may sound completely unspectacular for everyone, and in words, it really does just sound like some normal pawn shop. But no, mark my words. This place is figgin' amazing. It has to be seen to be believed. You name a game, it's sitting right there. Like I said, it's Ebay, materialized. This actually happened to me first hand. I literally said to myself, "Hm... Wonder if they have Super Metroid" Not twenty seconds later, I saw the game sitting in a glass case, right in front of me. I was in shock. Directly next to it, Super Mario RPG for SNES. 60$. My jaw nearly hit the floor.

At this point, I was already overwhelmed. Ok, then can you imagine me when I saw the big glass case of classic systems stacked on top of each other? Yeah, it goes without saying that I began to cry. No, no, not really, but I probably could have if I wanted to at that point. Looking around in that case, my eyes suddenly caught a small glimmer from behind the glass. A closer look, and I see the word "Saturn" and the word "SEGA" before it. Immediately after I saw that, I thought "NiGHTS!!" If they had a Saturn here, and NiGHTS Into Dreams along with it, I would probably just rob the store. So, I ran over to the giant shelf filled with Saturn games (that's right, the Saturn did have enough games to fill a shelf!) and looked, and looked for NiGHTS... Nothing. The one game that I would kill for, they do not have at this amazing store. On top of that, I am broke at this time, and the Saturn itself was 60$ (pretty reasonable). I had no chance of even getting the system.

There was one hope though. The next day (today) is Easter... And Greek Easter. I'm Greek, so my family gets together every year for Greek Easter. And being with the family means being with the old people of the family. And being with old people you are related to of course means, what else, free money. So, today at the Greek restaurant we went to, all I had to do was sit around, eat, listen to old people laugh and talk, and then get some free money out of the whole experience. Pretty great process if you ask me. At the end of the whole day I made a whopping 100$, enough to get the Saturn, great. But what about NiGHTS? That is basically the only reason I want the Saturn after all. 100 minus 60 leaves me with only 40 dollars, and I already new that wouldn't be wnough for the game on Ebay. It is very rare.

So, I was looking around ebay a good price on NiGHTS. Then, BOOM, I find the best deal yet. $55 for the game, the manual, and the optional 3D controller that could be used to play NiGHTS (It's just a Saturn controller with an analog stick, making it easier to guide your character around in NiGHTS rather than the D-pad). I'm really serious about playing this game. I've been wanting it ever since I first saw it so many years ago, but I've never gotten a chance to try it. Just the whole aspect of flying around freely always intregued me. Anyway, I've got $40, the game is $55. It seems that the circumstances were on my side because I had also just gotten my report card in the mail. Thank god for that. My mom through in the extra $15, I needed, and now, I will officially own NiGHTS Into Dreams (when it comes in the mail)... Only one problem.

I DON'T OWN A SATURN YET!! My mom can't drive me down to the video game exchange anytime this week, so guess what. I have to wait until Friday to get my Saturn. This is because when my dad comes to pick me up to go to his house this Friday, then we will stop by the Game Exchange, and pick up that beautiful little NiGHTS player. The only problem is that it is quite possible the game could come in the mail before Friday, meaning I will have a game, with no console to play it on. The wait is gonna kill me. Well... It's gonna be a long week.
