@unreal101 @LightRukia The problem with horror games on consoles is that players are more inclined to play far away from the TV, relaxed on their couch in the living room, distracted by anything and everything else going on in the living room. On PC, however, it's much easier to isolate yourself from everything and immerse yourself into the game.
That's not to say that console games will never be scary, just that (IMO) all else equal, any given game will be scarier on PC than on console for the reasons given above.
I didn't finish Just Cause 2's story, yet I played through BioShock Infinite's 10-12 hour story in one sitting. I also beat Metal Gear Solid 4 in two days.
@shnelle It doesn't disprove it, not really. It's all relative to what the developers are trying to convey. Minecraft is going for a totally different visual style than, say, Tomb Raider. Can you imagine how hard it would be to convey the mature themes that Tomb Raider had if it were 'retro'? Of course, you can have mature games without high-end graphics - The Walking Dead immediately comes to mind - but certain styles work for certain games, and not others. And I don't think Tomb Raider would have worked nearly as well if the visual style was different than the one it has.
I love how these politicians seem to gloss over the fact that the single deadliest US mass-murder in a school was committed with EXPLOSIVES, and took place in 1927. Given that televisions weren't even commercially available at that time, I'm thinking MAYBE people will still commit these atrocities regardless of whether or not they have access to violent video games and guns.
But what the heck do I know? I'm just a guy with a little bit of common sense. Apparently that's overrated these days.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Watchmen, but by far the best thing in that movie was Rorschach. And if I remember correctly, you only see his face for like 2 minutes at the very end of the film.
Wow - I don't think I've ever seen the comments so one-sided, let alone with the general consensus being positive. I guess that's a pretty good statement about the quality of the video. Awesome stuff!
