@lostn: The competition would be more on the software which is fine but we do need more companies fighting over the hardware to push the limits. Already the consoles are years behind, hell when a new console is released the hardware is from 2-3 years back so we badly need the competition even in this area. Otherwise we would see a 10 year cycle for upgrades. I think 3 is the magic number. Hopefully Nintendo wont mess up this time.
@vexxouds: Maybe the next version of the WiiU controller? Either way i hope they keep it simple and traditional. A regular controller is enough. I loved the Gamecube controller, something in that area would be great.
For once I agree with Nintendo, everyone buying VR is basically beta testing and paying for a unfinished product. I bet in a year or two the headsets will be much slimmer and new technology will revive the need for several USBs among other things. I don't want to waste money on it now myself. Regular games are enough for my leisure time?
Why do you try to have a singleton mind about this, people (me at least) want to buy a console that gives me everything. I dont want a tablet that sucks at battery, is clumsy, for the most part don't fill any purpose, has a lousy screen resolution and its not even a real touch. Put that crap away and pimp up the hardware so we have a real console that delivers details in the same level as other consoles. I dont want to settle with a crappy hardware from 10 years ago. If anything Nintendo can do much more creative work with a better hardware. For one they would not spend countless hours optimizing their game just to be able to handle a stable 30fps. They could make bigger more good looking worlds, have better AI and so on. Why fight technology, today we dont need to settle anymore. Thanks to MS and Sony if Nintendo dont shape up with NX they will be the next Sega. That would be really sad but i'm sure it will happen. Luckily for them the handheld is selling well still.
I basically already but all consoles but after the shit MS tried to pull with DRM and always online check I refused to buy the XB1. Also I hate the fact that a central part of the console that can easily breaks is not possible to replace easily by the user without voiding warranty, in talking about the HD. MS made tons of mistake with the one and they don't seem to fix it with Scorpio still. One good thing is that the ugly power brick is finally integrated, but if you read between the lines it sounds like the online thing might be catch again. I hope I'm wrong though. I'm a bit interested in the Scorpio but I hate it when I can't access the hardware.
And lastly with the new concept they introduced where games are available on win 10 then I'm sort of happy since it was unexpected. That was a cool thing. I just hope they don't mess up the release with another DRM thing and hopefully change the design so the HD is can be replaced by users.
In theory it sound good but competition is good for the players and the industry. Wasn't it for the competition we wouldn't have VR, newer consoles around the corner.
