To clear up any misunderstanding, this is an article regarding the Xbox and its domination over the consoles. This is not a discussion about the individual games.
The Xbox has a great design, suprisingly not for cosmetic reasons. The great design microsoft has used, limits the amount of dust that enters the Xbox. The Xbox also has a great way of releasing heat, allowing it to be used for countless hours without the need to be turned off. Although the fan could use an improvement, the Xbox very rarely overheats. Its wide, heavy, low to the ground build allows it to be extremely stable. Its the hardest amongst the three consoles to accidentally knock over or pull to the ground due to a controller being tripped over. A great feature added to the Xbox is the extra connector which enables the cord to be removed without knocking over your console. With all these safety features included in the Xbox, it can also withstand a drop of nearly 15 feet onto a cement service, and still continue to work.
Online play available to the Xbox substantially better than their competitors. It offers voice recorded messages, invites for voice discussions, content download, etc. The gameplay is fast because it requires a high speed internet connection. None of that 56k garbarge you have to worry about with the PS2. The headset is comfortable and comes with your Xbox live subscription starter kit.
The audio and visuals for the Xbox speak for themselves. Supporting 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound, developers take complete advantage of this. The improved audio really takes the gaming experience to a whole new level. Anybody who can afford surround sound, should look into it. It will not only improve your gaming experience, but all multimedia. The graphics are smoother and the frame rate is a lot better than the PS2 or Gamecube. This does have a little bit to do with individual games, the can support better graphics.
The hardrive is the first of its kind in a console. The hardrive allows for gamers to rip/copy music onto the hardrive. This is extremely useful with sports games, since you can set your own soundtracks. You no longer have to spend extra money on a memory card to save your games.
Turning your Xbox into a DVD player eliminates the purpose of buying a separate DVD player. The DVD kit comes equiped with a reciever which plugs straight into one of the controller ports and a small controller with large easy to use buttons.
Considering all these features the Xbox truely brings the ultimate gaming experience to you in one package. It combines everything the PS2 and the Gamecube do well and eliminates the problems they have. The Xbox is a must have for every gamer.
