@ScaredySquirrel that's true that cloud computing does not require a check-in, BUT that's not why the internet connection would be required. By requiring always online, it enables developers to take advantage of cloud computing processing. If you were allowed to go offline, developers would have to program for the lowest common denominator and not be able to implement the potentially unlimited processing power of cloud computing. It's the future of computing.

@Karjah How were they treating the consumer like garbage? What's wrong with what thye wanted to do? Requiring an internet connection? Big f'in deal, every multiplayer game requires an internet connection. GAMES ALREADY REQUIRE AN INTERNET CONNECTION. And the Kinect is necessary for bio-feedback, the next big thing in gaming. MS is innovating and changing the landscape of gaming like they did with the Ethernet connection and HDD in the original XBOX.
