Seeing as Battlefield 3 is a DX11 ONLY game for PC...I'm not worried about anything being stripped or dumbed-down.

Nowhere like it, Activision are way worse than EA used to be.

Monsters will only spawn where it's dark and at night, also make sure your difficulty setting is above peaceful, no monsters spawn on that mode.
