All of you are missing the point of using a grade system to score games over a score out of 10 or 100 - they arent meant to be converted. 1up doesnt review games with the knowledge that A+=100%, B=80%, C=70% etc so its crazy to try and compare with other reviews when they arent meant to be. How about you read the reviews and decide whether they justify the score they give rather than immediately compalin. Of course I know Im talking too much sense for SW.
I agree that live party is probabally more seamless but Sony isnt trying to make a seamless experience designed to appeal to hardcore gamers, they are trying to attract the more casual gamers with the Home concept of meeting up in a room or lobby and being able to walk around. A 20 year old hardcore gamer might have no interest whatsoever in Home but a 20 year old female gamer might be. I think Home is a big gamble but hey, thats what makes it interesting.
I really dislike it when religion is brought into politics. In the US elections it seems like that the presidential candidate has to acknowledge that they are Christian because if they are anything else then they would never win. Here in the UK if a future Prime Minister announced during his election campain that he was Christian then he would loose favour with a lot of the nation because we tend to think that religion and politics are two separate things. Tony Blair never announced his religious beliefs until he was out of office, thats 10 years after he was originally elected in 2007.
Otherwise I really enjoy the grand scale of the US elections.
The game is first and formost a platformer, not a level editor. Ill probabally never touch the level editor, but the level editor means that this game could be the first console game to really fully explore user generated content. Thats what is different about this game.
If your resorting to videos to argue whether the playstation controller is good or bad for fps then your not going to get anywhere. Play the game first hand, come back here and say the same thing and I will listen to you, but its completely illogical to call the playstation controller bad because of a gameplay vid.
Its unfair to judge R2 on the performance of R1 compared to the performance of GoW. GoW was a huge hit bc of the 360's large userbase at the time of release whereas R1 was a launch title for the PS3 and was never going to be able to challenge gears. R1 is largely an unappreciated game. Dont get me wrong, Gears2 is going to outsell R2 this holiday but Insomniac are superb developers and have never released a poor game. Resistance will be a superb game, it may even trump Gears2 critically, but it is not going to outsell Gears2.
