I think you read to much into playing video games. Just relax play them and have fun. Plenty of other people manage to enjoy MGS4, Resistance, Uncharted and Warhawk and Im sure if you go in with the right frame of mind and be a gamer at heart you will get more out of the PS3
Played the game, dont regret my purchase. Its a solid game worth the price. Nothing groundbreaking, nothing earth-shattering but I had FUN. I'd agree with most of the review scores. 7-8/10 = a good game that can be enjoyed. Ill let the rest of you who only play 9/10 games continue arguing and meanwhile ill play through Quest for Booty again :)
I agree with you that the PS3 will have a long life span, however you state no conclusive, verifiable facts, simply opinions from various sources. Im not saying that those sources arent creditable, but your post proves nothing.
Its a stupid question because Sony are going to be sticking with the ps3 for a long time yet. Whether thats the right decision or the wrong one - thats the million dollar question.
Gears will sell to the the hardcore gamers and the next level down and its sales are pretty much guaranteed. LBP on the other hand will sell to the much larger casual market as well as the hardcore gamers too. The difference is that LBPs sales are much less assert than GOW2 and it will actually be the first big test for the PS3 at recapturing some of the huge PS2 market. LBP has more potential for higher sales but is also a higher risk for Sony than GOW is for Microsoft and Epic.
No I answered you. The political system we have in place, the economics of the country, the opportunities that are present for people that wish to take advantage of them, the military to defend out country from invasion, and the personal freedoms accorded to the citizens. Really self explanatary.
Now...how about your facts.

I can do all of that here in the UK, or I could in any other country in the EU, or any other developed country. Those factors do not make the US stand above any other nation.
I always cringe when Americans talk about their "great" country, how "proud" they are to live there, their freedoms and their rights. Thats all well and good and I think its good to recognise those positive aspects of a nation but to people outside the US like myself it gives the impression that the US is the ONLY country with such freedoms and the ONLY country that fully embraces democracy which of course is wrong.
